GENERAL PRESENTATIONGENERAL PRESENTATION You will have an English course from September to March/April.
The course has two complementary phases: 24 hours will be in class with a teacher, and the other hours will be
devoted to a Personal English Project.

OBJECTIVES PRESENTATION B2 level within the framework of the European Council – which corresponds to CLES 2.
Your organisational skills (classification and prioritisation of information, synthesis, team work, etc.) must back up
your linguistic skills (oral and written comprehension + oral and written expression).
• You will reinforce your strategies for written and listening comprehension
• You will reinforce your strategies so as to transmit information orally or in written text efficiently. You will be
able to interact with other members of the group, negotiate solutions and solve problems.
CLES 2 CLES 2 (CERTIFICATION EN LANGUE PRESENTATION All M1 students can take the CLES 2 for free in Rennes 1 University. You will be taking it on Saturday, November
28th 2015.

1ST SEMESTER: PERSONAL ENGLISH PROJECT

During the 1 semester you will work on your Personal English Project, as well as your job interview.
Your work will be related first to the professional world. You will have a CV and a letter to write, and a compulsory
interview (job interview simulation) with Vicki, a native speaker.
You will make your appointments for the interviews online. The whole procedure is described online.

You will also work on your Personal English Project, which aims to put you in control of your own learning. You will
decide on a linguistic goal and work to achieve it (Cf. PEP instructions).
2ND SEMESTER: ENGLISH-ONLY CLASSES
You will be in classes with a maximum of 24 students.
You will carry out complex project-oriented tasks involving individual as well as pair or group work. All the activities will
systematically make you work on all competencies (reading, listening, speaking and writing).

À noter! L’entretien que vous ferez pendant l’AFG est obligatoire ; en cas d’absence injustifiée, votre note de
compréhension et expression orales sera divisée par 2. Si vous vous présentez avec CV et lettre bâclés, diplômes en
franglais, etc., votre note sera de 0/20. !!! Class attendance is compulsory. Please bring a certificate from your doctor whenever you are absent.
Missing more than 1 class without a valid reason means that your English mark for the year will be
0/20.
Présence obligatoire aux TD. Merci de fournir un certificat médical (ou autre) en cas d'absence. Plus d’1 absence
non justifiée vous donnerait un 0/20 à l’UE d'anglais pour l’année.
There is only one exam session for English because it is continuous assessment.
Il n’y a pas de deuxième session pour l’UE d’anglais car l’évaluation se fait en contrôle continu.
