UAV Systems : Thales UAS Innovation Award 2012, Contractor Logistics Support : Thales MCO Innovation Award 2012 and to foster both activities as strategic drivers of innovation from the Bordeaux/Aquitaine region. The Thales UAS and MCO Innovation Awards 2012 are organised as part of the UAV Show Europe and ADS Show Europe, which will take place in Bordeaux on the 26th and 27th of Septembre 2012. Article 1: Objectives The UAS Innovation Awards 2012 is organised by Thales to encourage and promote innovative achievements by SMEs/SMIs in this field, whether related to technology, specific products or associated procedures. The MCO Innovation Awards 2012 is organised by Thales to encourage and promote innovative achievements by SMEs/SMIs in this field, whether related to technology, specific services or associated procedures. Article 2: Entry to the competition Entry to the competition is free and is open to all SMEs/SMIs in France and other countries. Excluded from the competition are the members of the jury, the other experts involved in the competition, Thales employees and members of their families. Candidate SMEs/SMIs should submit their completed applications by 12 p.m. midnight on the 3rd of September at the latest. No applications will be accepted after this date. The competition organisers are unable to return applications or related documents after submission.

This jury will select the winners after examination of each project and after due deliberation. The jury reserves the right to request further information from entrants, wherever it seems necessary. The deliberations of the jury will remain confidential, and under no circumstances will the jury be required to justify its decisions. Article 4: Prizes The two winners will each be awarded a prize of five thousand euros (€5,000). Article 5: Announcement of results The winners will be announced and the prizes awarded at the Gala Evening of the UAV Show Europe and ADS Show Europe on the 26th of September 2012. Article 6: Confidentiality The members of the jury and all other persons involved in the organisation of this competition agree to keep all information related to the projects submitted by SME/SMI entrants confidential and not to use any of this information for any purpose other than the strict fulfilment of their obligations as judges of this competition. The information submitted by SME/SMI entrants does not confer any right, whether expressly or implicitly, to Thales or the persons involved in this competition, other than those arising from the strict application of provisions of these rules. Similarly, they agree to keep their deliberations confidential. Article 7: Communication about the winners The SME/SMI winners authorise Thales to communicate freely and without any compensation, by all internal and external channels (press, internet, video and other), and with no limitation in time, about the projects and related information submitted as part of this competition: names of projects, companies and summaries of projects (as supplied by the companies in the application form). Under no circumstances, unless agreed otherwise with the SMEs/SMIs concerned, will Thales or its representatives take advantage of such communications to claim any rights in connection with the information conveyed. It is the responsibility of SME/SMI entrants to ensure that such communications will not infringe any third party rights and to protect Thales against any such infringements. In addition, the SME/SMI winners authorise Thales to use freely and without charge any photographs taken at the award ceremony.

Article 8: Disputes and cancellation The submission of an application is deemed to imply due acceptance of the competition rules, without reservation and in their entirety. Entrants renounce any form of claim against Thales and/or its representatives, in any respect, such as, for example, the cancellation of the competition or any complaint or objection after the results are announced. No provision of the competition rules may be interpreted as an obligation on the part of Thales to pursue any kind of cooperation with the SMEs/SMIs concerned.
