TopSky - ATFM
TopSky - ATFM is operational in ATNS’ CAMU facility in
South Africa where it helped to successfully manage
traffic for the 2010 Soccer World Cup and where
it is predicted to achieve annual fuel savings of US$
2.2 million – equivalent to 10.3 Megatonnes of CO2
emissions.
CAPACITY-LOAD BALANCING
TopSky - ATFM is an innovative new generation system
that optimises the use of available airspace and airport
resources by balancing load and capacity in order to
reduce delays, alleviate congestion and smooth imbalances
in the workload of air traffic controllers, improving safety
and enabling both economic and environmental benefits.

WEATHER AVOIDANCE
Detects conflicts between air traffic or air traffic
and airspace (such as special use airspace or moving
thunderstorms). Automatic or manual conflict resolution
proposals to delay or reroute flights laterally or vertically
away from the affected areas, taking into account ATC
separation and airspace management requirements.
SLOT ALLOCATION AND TRADING
Select a slot manager that is compatible with your CDM
business rules and permits web based slot trading that
enables airlines to optimise their own operations.
COLLABORATIVE DECISION MAKING
CDM tools tightly integrate TopSky - ATFM with TopSky ATC and other ATC systems, and with airline and airport
operators, closing the all important operational loop.
Fuse surveillance-enhanced air traffic data from different
centres and complement with airspace and airport capacity
and restriction data and weather information for a global
assessment of congestion and possible disruptive events.
