Artist Biography :
Jan Van Beers was a Belgian painter of portraits, landscapes and genre-scenes. He received his artistic education
at the Academy of Antwerp. He moved to Paris in 1878, where he started off in the atelier of the renowned Belgian
painter Alfred Stevens. He obtained mundain success though his frivolous Parisian subjects. Van Beers' works are
very detailed and almost can be compared to photographical details and quality.
