EN pH gel electrodes General Check the electrode for transportation damage and correct functioning immediately upon arrival (carrying out a pH calibration or Metrohm electrode test). For the electrode test with the 780/781 pH/Ion Meter or tiamo/Touch Control select the electrode type "Gel". Warning Storage The electrodes must be stored in c(KCl) = sat. They may not be stored in a dry place under any circumstances. Maintenance The electrodes are extremely low-maintenance since they are filled with a solid electrolyte and are not refillable. Over time, the gel will become transparent, starting from the diaphragm. Replace the electrode as soon as the transparent zone has reached the marking on the shaft (2). Hygroscopic samples The electrodes must be conditioned in c(KCl) = sat. between the individual measurements in order to ensure that the electrolyte does not dry out. Take care to ensure that the diaphragms (1) do not become contaminated or clogged. FR Électrodes gel pH Remove the piercing electrode (6.0226.100) carefully and slowly from the storage vessel or from the sample. If you remove the electrode too quickly, the gel could tear and the sensor will become unusable! Measurement Rinse the electrode after measuring. The tip of the electrode must remain clean (do not touch). Cleaning Use only a dampened cloth to wipe the electrode (wipe off residual grease with a cloth that has been moistened with alcohol). Do not wipe the electrode with a dry cloth and do not immerse it in alcohol! The electrode should not be cleaned with the pHit kit (6.2325.000) or treated with ultrasound! 8.109.8035ML 2/2
