VENIR À VALENCIA
En avion:
L’aéroport de Valencia sur www.aena.es (Ctra. del aeropuerto, s/n – 46940 Manises (Valencia) Tél. + 34 961 59 85 00)
L’aéroport se trouve à environ 8km du centre de Valence (Prix moyen de la course en taxi de l’aéroport
au centre ville: 20€).
Il existe deux lignes de métro pour rejoindre le centre ville: Ligne 3 (Aéroport/ Palmaret- Rafelbunyol)
et ligne 5 (Aéroport/ Torrent Avinguda- Neptú.). La station de métro se trouve au rez-de-chaussée à l’arrivée
des vols régionaux.
Le métro passe toutes les 10/20 minutes de 5.30 à 23.30. Le trajet dure environ 20 minutes. Tarif: 1.90 €

The city of Valencia is located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. It is the capital of the Region Valenciana,
and it is the third largest city in the country. Valencia has 810,064 inhabitants, and is the centre
of a metropolitan area with a population of 1,500,000 people.
Valencia is a dynamic city, which has been in the limelight in the last few years, due to the organisation
of worldwide events, such as the America’s Cup (2007) and the F1 Europe Prize (2008). Furthermore, Valencia
is a tourist city. Its main highlights are the historical centre, especially the cathedral, the Ciudad de las Artes
y las Ciencias, the IVAM Museum, and the Port America’s Cup, contemplating the beautiful sights
on the beach. Other important attractions in the city are its gastronomic delights. The worldwide renowned
Paella has its origins in Valencia. The Horchata should also not be forgotten, a typical drink of this region,
which is usually drunk with pastries.
The weather in Valencia is characterised by hot summers and warm winters. The average temperature in May
in Valencia is 19. 6ºC and the average rainfall is 19. 6 l/m2.
Main tourist highlights in Valencia
Valencia Cathedral was built between 1262 and 1356. It brings together different architectural styles,
product of its long and rich history. Roman, gothic and baroque have their representation in the walls
of this beautiful construction, which hides some important treasures: the holy chalice, the reliquary,
the recently restored frescoes and the Miguelete Tower.

Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe is a cultural and entertainment resort. It includes:
l’Hemisfèric (IMAX showings, planetarium, and laser), the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum,
l’Oceanogràfic (the biggest aquarium in Europe), the Palau de les Arts (dedicated to music and scenic arts)
and L’umbracle.

The IVAM Museum offers exhibitions of modern art and it is one of the museums of references in Spain.
The museum has permanent exhibitions (as the one dedicated to Julio González) and temporary
exhibitions. It also offers other cultural activities, such as concerts, showing films and workshops
on different issues.

Port America’s Cup. It was inaugurated two years ago, on the occasion of the celebration of the 32nd
America’s Cup. The ancient harbour was reformed and revitalized, becoming one of the more “in” places
of the city. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful sights on the beach, go for a walk on the quay, or just sit
and relax in one of the pubs or restaurants around the place.
