AISB Mission:
The American
International School of
Brazzaville is committed to developing student intellect, character
and a sense of
community through an
enriched American curriculum in a challenging, diverse and secure
environment.
We are well into our third quarter and second semester. Experience tells us the third quarter can be a challenge for some who
are content with the successes of the first and second quarters.
Although it is important to recognize student achievement and
efforts, complacency that may lead to a sluggish third quarter
should be discouraged. It is so important that your children remain motivated now and all the way to the end of the school
year. Third quarter progress reports will be sent home this Friday, February 26. Once again parents are encouraged to review
the report with their children and emphasize how very important
it is that they always do their best.
OUTSTANDING FEES
At this time, fees not paid create a more challenging situation
that negatively effects how the school operates. Invoices are
again being prepared to send out to those with unpaid fees.
These invoices will be followed up with telephone calls to
those failing to settle outstanding financial obligations. The
last thing AISB wants is to constantly remind parents of their
financial obligations. However, all fees are necessary for the
school to continue offering students and community educational opportunities. Please ensure these passed due fees
are paid as soon as possible.
FRAIS NON REGLES
INTERNATIONAL DAY
International Day has been rescheduled! Currently
on the calendar for March 18, the event will now be
Friday, April 8. International Day annually is one of
AISB biggest days. Please put this new date on your
calendar and join us for this celebration of AISB diversity and our national pride.
CELEBRATION DE L ‘INTERNATIONAL DAY
L’International day a été reprogrammé !

PROFESSIONAL STAFF IMPROVING THEIR CRAFT
Parents clearly agree they want the best teachers possible for their children. Professional Development (PD) is
an important component in all schools that focuses on
educators to strengthening their craft. Recently, AISB
staff participated in some very important PD.
January 25 to 27, Dr. Virginia Rojas shared English
Language Learning (ELL) strategies and best practice with AISB teachers and instructional assistants.. She met individually, in small and large
groups emphasizing ways to provide an enriched
language environment in the classroom.
Our French teachers, Mr. Diagne and Mr. Kadaba participated in an AISA Professional
Learning Institute focused on World Language programs. They returned with new
ideas and approaches to the teaching of French. They will present to the entire professional staff information about their experience.
WCS SERVICE LEARNING GROUP
HOSTS A MOVIE NIGHT
The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) service-learning group will be
hosting a Movie Night on Friday, February 26. The funds raised will
be used to “adopt” a baby gorilla. The movies are Inside Out for all
elementary students and Fantastic Four (2015) for Middle and High
School. Tickets are on sale at AISB now at the price of 3,000 CFA – this is inclusive of
the movie & snacks (drink, cookies and chips). The last day / time to purchase a
ticket will be Thursday morning. The movies will commence at 15:45 (3:45) on Friday.
Parents and drivers are asked to pick up their children no later than 17:30 (5:30PM).

On Friday, February 19, our grade 6 and grade 7 students performed the musical comedy “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown”. The audience enjoyed the cast
singing and performing antics of these famous cartoon characters. We appreciate all the support from members of the staff, students and parents. Well done
to all our actors and people behind the scenes! Special thanks to the Director of
the play, Ms. Sandra Thomas!!
