It was great welcoming everyone back today. We hope everyone had a
wonderful holiday full of special time with family and friends as well as
opportunities for rest and relaxation. AISB wishes the entire community
a great 2016!
It is time now to refocus our efforts to be on time, on task and on a mission. Getting back into daily and weekly routines is important for all of
us. In just two weeks, on January 22, we will finish our first semester.
Parents are encouraged to help their children complete the second quarter putting forward their best efforts.

Il est à présent temps de focaliser à nouveau nos efforts sur nos tâches
et notre mission et de le faire dans les délais. Replonger dans la routine
journalière et hebdomadaire s’avère très important dans la mesure où
dans tout juste deux semaines, précisément le 22 janvier prochain nous
achèverons le premier semestre. Afin que les élèves donnent le meilleur
d’eux même pour achever ce 2eme Quart, le concours des parents reste
et demeure le bienvenu.
Grade 9 Semester Exams
Our first high school class (grade 9 students) will be experiencing semester exams January 18 – 22. The semester exam is an opportunity for teachers to assess and students
to show their accumulated knowledge or use their expertise by creating an end product
or by completing a problem/task. The exam schedule is listed below. There will be no
school for High School students on Friday, January 22, unless a make-up exam is necessary.

Grade 9 Examens du Semestre
Les élèves de Grade 9 qui est notre première classe de l’High School (Lycée) passeront leurs examens du 18 au 22 janvier. Ces examens de fin de Semestre sont l’occasion pour les enseignants de faire le bilan. Ils donnent également l’opportunité aux élèves de démontrer leurs connaissances accumulées et d’utiliser leur savoir-faire à travers
la création d’un produit-fini ou la résolution d’un problème/d’une tâche donné(e). Le programme de déroulement est détaillé ci-dessous. Il n’y aura pas classe pour les Grade 9 le
22 janvier à moins qu’un examen de rattrapage s’avère nécessaire.

AISB Reaches Out
Student Council Visits Orphanage
The Student Council will like to extend their gratitude to AISB parents, students, administration, teachers and friends for making the Holiday Drive a success. There was an outpouring of donations - dried goods, toys, clothing, shoes and other items. The Council
partnered with the Lions Club and its Region Chairperson, Mr. Bel-Gaza Beyina to deliver
the donations to the orphanage headed by sister Marie Therese on December 16th.
The members of the Student Council, Mr. Beyina and myself drove in convoy to the orphanage to make the delivery. The joy, appreciation and gratitude were apparent by the
kids and Sister Marie Therese. The AISB students took the opportunity to chat and even
take some selfies with some of the kids at the orphanage.
The members of the Student Council and myself were very touched by this experience. They reflected and talked about how they felt, they all had mixed emotions, some
were happy to know that they could make a difference however small in the lives of these
kids, however they also felt sad when they saw how many kids were without a family and
of course living a life that could not be in any way compared to theirs.
AISB hopes to build a sustainable partnership with this orphanage and continue on the
path of sharing of ourselves and giving back to those less fortunate in our community.
