Snakkes
Thank you for choosing the Snakkes lamp from the Norwegian
mood light producer Northern Lighting. Please read this
manual carefully before installation, and then enjoy the light.

1. Indoor use only.
2. Turn off the power before installation.
3. Do not let children touch electrical components
or bulb. The temperature of the lamp body is
high after the lamp has been turned on. Do not
touch the lamp body to avoid scald.
4. Do not clean the lamp with water. Clean with
soft cloth.
5. The lamp must not be in touch with water,
humidity, gas or caustic materials.
6. Luminaire should not be covered with any
objects.
7. The lamp shall only be used with rated voltage
and frequency.
8. Don’t pull or hang the lamp by its powercable.
9. Don’t use the lamp if the powercable is damaged.
To avoid hazard, only the manufacturer, his
service agent or a similar qualified person may
repair and replace damaged parts.
10. Use correct screws and screwcups for installation.
Since different walls demand different standards,
these parts are not included.
11. Use gloves not to damage the surface of the lamp
during installation.

3. Ne pas laisser les enfants toucher les
components électriques ou la source de lumière.
4. Ne pas laver la lampe avec de l’eau. Nettoyez-la
avec un chiffon mou.
5. Ne pas laisser la lampe en contact avec de
l’eau, de l’humidité, du gaz ou des substances
corrodantes.
6. Ne pas couvrir la source de lumière.
7. Utiliser la lampe avec le volt et la fréquence
recommandés.
8. Ne pas tirer ou pendre la lampe dans le câble
d’électricité.
9. Ne pas utiliser la lampe si le câble d’electricité
est endommagé ou détruit.
10. Pour éviter les risques potentielles ou les
dégâts, les réparations peuvent uniquement
être effectuées par le producteur ou une d’autre
personne qualifiée.
11. Porter des gants pour ne pas endommager la
surface de la lampe pendant l’installation.

1. Ausschliesslich für den Gebrauch im Hause.
2. Vor der Installation bitte Stecker ziehen.
3. Halte Kinder von den elektrischen Komponenten
der Lampe fern.
4. Nicht mit Wasser waschen. Verwende ein weiches
Tuch.
5. Vermeide Kontakt mit Wasser, Feuchtigkeit, Gas
und ätzenden Mitteln.
6. Die Lampe darf nicht zugedeckt werden.
7. Benutze die Lampe nur mit der angegebenen
Voltzahl und Frequenz.
8. Hänge die Lampe niemals nur am Stromkabel
auf.
9. Benutze die Lampe nicht im Falle eines defekten
oder beschädigten Stromkabel. Um Unfällen
vorzubeugen dürfen nur der Hersteller oder
qualifizierte Personen Reparaturen vornehmen.
10. Verwende die richtigen Schrauben und Dübel
beim der Montage der Lampe. Verschiedene
Wände verlangen verschiedene Schrauben und
Dübel. Aus diesem Grund liegen diese nicht bei.
11. Um die Oberfläche der Lampe nicht zu
beschädigen emfehlen wir den Gebrauch von
Handschuhen.

2. Ta ut stikkontakt før installasjon.
3. Ikke la barn berøre elektriske komponenter eller
lyskilde.
4. Ikke vask lampen med vann. Rengjør med myk
klut.
5. Lampen må ikke komme i kontakt med vann,
fuktighet, gass eller etsende stoffer.
6. Lyskilden må ikke tildekkes med løse
gjenstander.
7. Benytt alltid lampen med anvist volt og frekvens.
8. Ikke dra eller heng lampen kun i strømkabelen.
9. Ikke bruk lampen hvis strømkabelen er skadet
eller ødelagt. Kun produsent eller annen
kvalifisert person kan foreta reparasjon på
ødelagte deler for å unngå risiko eller skader.
10. Bruk riktige skruer og plugger til montering.
Da ulike vegger krever ulike standarder, følger
dette ikke med.
11. Bruk hansker ved montering for ikke å skade
overflaten på lampen.

Graphic designer from Barcelona who spends his time
between oslo and Barcelona, pondering whether he
prefers ball-shaped food and long summer nights or
sangria and paella. Still undecided, he keeps on contemplating!
“Say it with light!”
Snakkes is a wall mounted LED speaking board, created
to light up the wall and to write a text or comment on
with a wipeable marker pen. Do you need to remind
your roommate to pay the rent? Forgot to tell your dad
you borrowed his car? Do you want to tell your girlfriend
that you love her? are you tired of telling your boyfriend
to put the toilet seat down? Are you fed up with small
yellow post-it notes that end up on the floor? Forget
sticky papers, save the planet, express your mood and
say it with light!
Snakkes in norwegian means “talk to you later”. It would
be something you would say to someone when parting
from them or leaving a message. Say it with light!

Mood as inspiration
The seasons in the Nordic countries vary dramatically,
something which makes light very important to us who
live here. Natural light phenomena in our environment, such
as the midnight sun and the northern lights, also influence our
perception of the moods that light can create. These Nordic
light moods created Northern Lighting, and inspired our designers
to create a distinctive range of lights. The people who make our
lamps include both young up–and–coming talents and recognised
designers. Despite their different levels of experience, they all
have one thing in common: they are fiery souls who are
fascinated by the mood–creating possibilities of light.
Light creation
Northern Lighting is a Norwegian creator of lights. We produce
designer lamps and lights for different moods which are inspired
by the unique Nordic nature, our culture and society, and the
very special natural light which surround us.
