WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Profiles of CCPA Grads as
They Perform Around the World!
Rachael McOwen with Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee
2006 graduate Rachael McOwen
is a “radical rockstar.” After CCPA,
Rachael began doing plays and
musicals in regional theatres. She
then shifted gears and became
a resident artist with an opera
company. While on this singing
adventure, she simultaneously
got her equity card doing a play
and quickly moved to New York
City in order to continue working
as a union member. Rachael is
grateful to have been making a
full time living as a performer in
NYC for over six years now.
Off-broadway, international touring and regional work took up most of her
time for the first five years. She also worked as an on-camera host for awhile,
interviewing on everything from the Oscars in LA to segments in Time
Square. After injuring her back in a physical theatre rehearsal, she had to take
a break from singing and stage. The film world beckoned. Her first Hollywood
film comes out on DVD this month (“no bootlegging guys!”) She is one of
the top women with lines and face time in the summer blockbuster The
Amazing Spider Man 2. You can also find her in a Taco Bell TV commercial,
shooting Neymarc Visuals epic film Happy Valentines Day, filming the lead
role in Isaac Hoff’s newest drama Secret Inscriptions of The Mind and in
Canada working on the title role in a new feature film adaptation of Alice in
Wonderland. She is thrilled to start singing again and will be doing a reading
of Laurence O’Keefes (Legally Blonde, Bat Boy, Heathers) new musical Life of
the Party in NYC next month.
“My career has shifted in so many directions over the few years I’ve worked
as an artist and I’m eternally grateful for the training at CCPA that prepared
me to be ready for anything and everything. I still do my grip-top-sock tongue
twister from speech class every day and have my three jokes, suitcase and
passport ready to go!” You can find her viral silly singing YouTube parody
that has over 30 million hits and more info at RachaelMcOwen.com.

SIOBHAN RICHARDSON
Actor/Fight Director
Since graduating from the first 2-year
program at CCPA in 2001, Siobhan has
had dual careers in performance and
fight direction / fight instruction. She’s
performed as an actor, fighter, singer,
and/or dancer on stage and screen in a
variety of periods and styles. Favourite
credits include Mo (Mo and Jess Kill
Susie, Harley Dog Productions), the
twins Jessica and Julia (The Last
Resort, Stirling Festival Theatre)
and the world premieres of The
Parliamentarians by Phil Rickaby, The
Madness of the Square by Marjorie
Chan (Cahoots Theatre Projects) and
The Forbidden Phoenix by Marty
Chan (Citadel Theatre and LKTYP).
Concurrently, she has been immersing
herself in as much stage combat as
she can find between acting gigs, and
is a Fight Directors Canada certified
Stage Combat Instructor. In 2009, she
was a recipient of the Ontario Arts
Council’s Chalmers Arts Fellowship,
which facilitated months of stage
combat study in Sweden, USA and
England. Her teaching career has

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
After graduating from the CCPA in 1999,
Paige Parkhill joined Disney Cruise Line as
the dance captain and swing for the launch
of The Disney Wonder. She then toured
South America and the Mediterranean,
dancing onboard Holland America’s
Noordam. Paige performed in an Eminem
music video out of Universal Studios in Los
Angeles. She also toured China as a dancer
for Las Vegas’s Hope Productions in 2003,
and, in 2004, was employed as a dancer in
Showtime’s Reefer Madness: The Movie
Musical, filmed in Vancouver.
Paige spent two years in Tokyo, Japan where she was an aerialist and
opening cast member at the Mermaid Lagoon in Tokyo DisneySEA.
Beginning in 2005, she spent five years in Hong Kong as an opening
cast member for Hong Kong Disneyland, performing as an aerialist,
dancer and dance captain at The Golden Mickeys. While in Hong Kong,
Paige continued to develop her leadership skills, and taught young locals
at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts.
Paige is currently employed by Disney Cruise Line as a choreographic
supervisor at their International Headquarters in Toronto. Since joining
DCL, she’s been fortunate to have been a part of the creative team
assigned to launch both the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy Cruise
Ships, as well as to relaunch the Disney Magic.
Allison Rilley traveled from her hometown
of Winnipeg to follow her passion as an actor,
singer and dancer at CCPA, graduating from
the one year program in 2003.
While attending the College, she was hired
on the spot by Norwegian Cruise Line’s Jean
Anne Ryan Productions as a singer/dancer.
She traveled the Caribbean for two contracts
after graduation and upon her return to
Winnipeg was cast in her first feature film, as
a dancer alongside Jennifer Lopez, Richard
Gere, and Stanley Tucci in Shall We Dance.
She then moved to Vancouver to focus more
on her film and television acting career. Since then, she has appeared
in MTV’s Kaya, The CW’s Aliens in America, Fringe, and Direct TV’s
Rogue. She also appeared as a guest star on YTV/Disney’s sitcom
Mr. Young, and had the honour of being directed by Robert Redford in
his feature film The Company You Keep. Earlier this year she appeared
on Hallmark Channel’s Signed Sealed Delivered and she can also be
seen in a recurring role on the popular series Arrow.
Allison is currently preparing for principal roles in two feature films:
Phantom and No Men Allowed Beyond This Point. While her main
focus remains film and television, she continues to sing in the 1940s
style trio The Agency and tours as a dancer in Luisa Marshall’s award
winning Tina Turner Tribute show, where she had the opportunity
to perform at a Red Cross fundraiser in Bermuda. She credits her
discipline and confidence to her training at CCPA and for giving her
the encouragement to pursue her dreams and passions.
FEATURED GRAD continued
taken her to the Paddy Crean International
Stage Combat Workshop, the Nordic Stage
Fight Society’s Summer Workshops (Sweden,
Finland and Estonia), FDC’s National
Workshops, and two European tours. Her
company, Burning Mountain, co-founded
with actor / fight director Matt Richardson, is
known internationally for its choreography,
which integrates techniques from various
historical European martial arts with existing
foundation safety practices of stage combat
and the needs of the actor’s process. As a
fight director, Siobhan has choreographed
for The Hobbit (The Grand Theatre, London),
White Biting Dog (Soulpepper), Such
Creatures (Nightswimming and Theatre
Passe Muraille), Death of a Chief (Native
Earth), several productions with Humber
River Shakespeare Company and a number
of self-produced short films.
Siobhan’s performance and stage combat
ambitions have come together often in the
last several years, both on stage and on
camera. Currently she is in rehearsals for
Romeo and Juliet (Headstrong Collective
and Urban Bard Productions) for which she is
the fight director and playing Lady Capulet.
Recently Battlers, a short film that Siobhan
co-starred in and fight directed, premiered
at the Action On Film Festival where it was
nominated for Best Science Fiction and Best
Martial Arts Action Sequence in a Short.
Siobhan was named Breakout Female Action
Star in a Short.
She’s looking forward to what the future
holds having just signed on with Butler
Ruston Bell in Toronto. Recognizing that
“work begets work” and that making
one’s own work is paramount to creative
satisfaction, she’ll continue self-producing
short films and is currently writing her first
non-fiction book.
