Quick Guide
FUNCTION
BUTTON ACTIVATION
Normal Mode
This is the default mode on powering up and requires no
button activation.
Night Mode
Press the Red Button for < 2 seconds:

The red light should then illuminate. During the hours of
darkness the green light will illuminate and, automatically,
the system will not allow any cats to go out.
Vet Mode
Press the Red Button for > 2 seconds:
The red light will then flash and the unit will not allow any
cats to go out.
Program Entry
Press and hold the Green Button for > 10 seconds:
The green light will flash and you then have 30 seconds in
which to program your cat by passing the porch over the
animal.
Extended Modes
Press and hold both the Red and Green Buttons for
> 2 seconds
The unit will emit a long beep indicating that the extended
modes are now available and the green light will be lit.

Child Lock
Press and hold the Red Button for > 30 seconds
The unit will emit a series of beeps indicating the unit is
now locked.
Erase Mode
Press and hold both the Red and Green Buttons for
> 30 seconds
The unit will emit a series of short beeps followed by a long
beep. Both lights should now be flashing.
Default Mode
Press and hold the Green Button for > 30 seconds
The unit will emit a series of short beeps followed by a long
beep. Both lights should extinguish.

Extended Modes - Quick Guide
Press and hold both the Red and Green Buttons for > 2 seconds and then release to
enter the extended mode menu.
When in extended mode the green light illuminates. Modes are selected by pressing
the Red Button to go “up” a mode and the Green Button to go “down” a mode. The
current mode is indicated by a number of beeps. When you are in the mode you
require a quick press of both buttons simultaneously will activate that mode.

Pressing the Green Button toggles the green-lock state,
while pressing the Red Button toggles the red-lock state.
Once the locks are in the required position a press of
both Red and Green Buttons returns the Smart Flap to
a normal mode of operation.

Introduction
Your Smart Flap
Your Pet Porte® Smart Flap is a natural development of the original Pet Porte Microchip cat flap and has been designed to allow your animals easy access to the
outside world whilst keeping other troublesome cats out of your house. Unlike
other cat flap products, Pet Porte cat flaps do not require your animals to wear
collars or accessories.
The Smart Flap uses the same patented technology as the original Pet Porte Microchip Cat Flap to read the unique identification number stored on your cat’s microchip that your vet has implanted in your animal. Whenever your cat passes under the
porch of the cat flap, the system scans the unique number and, if that number
matches the number already programmed in for that cat, it will unlock the cat flap
and allow that particular animal to enter. If the animal has not been programmed
into the system then the number scanned will not match and the cat flap will remain
locked preventing access to your property.
If you are not sure whether your cat has a microchip, then just ask your vet to scan
for it. The Pet Porte Smart Flap is designed to read the most common type of microchip, the FDX-B; it will not read other types of microchip. If you are not sure what
type of microchip your cat has, then please either ask your vet or visit
www.petporte.com and navigate to our microchip compatibility checker to verify
that your microchip is compatible.
Other features of the Smart Flap are:
1) Battery backup facility: Powered by a low-voltage power supply, your Smart Flap
has space for a battery to be fitted, ensuring your cat does not get locked out in the
event of a power failure.
2) Night mode: Automatically prevents your cat going out during the hours of
darkness. If already out, it can still come back in.

3) Audible beep: An audible beep gives auditory feedback to your cat and lets you
know when your cat comes home.
4) Vet mode: If you want your animal to stay in, even if it is out at the moment (for
example when you want to take your animal to the vet), then the cat flap will allow
your animal to enter but will prevent it from going out.
5) Weatherproofing: Includes a magnetic latch and draught excluder.
6) Fits traditional cat flap openings : The Smart Flap has been designed to replace
the more traditional cat flap and will fit into a hole either 17cm x 17cm or 21cm diameter. (Please see the installation guide for further information.)
Your Cat’s Microchip
Extensive testing of the Pet Porte, with a large range of available microchip manufacturers, has proved that the technology behind the Pet Porte range of cat flaps
works perfectly with the majority of FDX-B microchips.
However, a very small percentage of cats have a microchip that has a reduced read
range and slow reaction time. This does not mean the microchip is faulty as your vet
can still scan for it with their own handheld scanners when in close proximity to the
microchip. On these rare occasions the Pet Porte Smart Flap can only be used as a
traditional cat flap without selective entry or exit.
If a new hole in a door or wall is to be cut for installation, we strongly advise testing
your Smart Flap with your cats first.

Safety First
Pet Porte cat flaps have been designed with safety for you and your animals in mind.
However, please follow these guidelines to ensure your safety, especially during
installation.
1) Simply clean the cat flap with a damp (not wet) cloth, or antistatic wipe. Never
use household polish as this may damage the product.
2) Only use the power supply included with the product. Using an unauthorised
power supply will invalidate your guarantee and may damage the cat flap.
3) Do not dismantle the cat flap. This could expose you to high voltages or other
risks.
4) During installation great care must be taken using drills or other cutting equipment. If you are at all in doubt then please hire the services of a qualified professional to fit the cat flap for you.

Operating Modes
PROGRAMMING NEW CATS INTO THE SMART FLAP
Because your Smart Flap is initially supplied unprogrammed, when it is first powered
both the green and red lights will flash to indicate that there are no animals
programmed in. The door locks will also open, allowing free access for any animal to
enter or exit. Prior to installing your Smart Flap to a door or wall we advise that you
test the Smart Flap’s operation by programming your cats, as shown below.
When programming the Smart Flap with an animal for the first time, ensure that
your pet is nearby as you have 30 seconds in which to introduce the animal to the
scanner. (You may wish to enlist the help of another person, as cats are naturally
suspicious of anything new!)
Press and hold the Green Button for about 10 seconds until the green light stays
illuminated and then release the Green Button. A beep should sound and the red
light should stop flashing with only the green light left flashing. You now have 30
seconds to move the porch part of the Smart Flap over your cat. There is no need to
post the cat through the Smart Flap as this can lead to unnecessary stress for the
animal. Microchips are normally implanted between the shoulder blades of the
animal; it is that part of the animal that needs to be under the porch area in order to
program the unique identification number for that animal. Once the microchip has
been successfully scanned, the Smart Flap will beep three times. The green light will
stop flashing, and the green lock will come up to its locked position.
If this procedure fails the first time, simply repeat the process.
You will need to program the unit with each of your cats by using this method. Your
Pet Porte Smart Flap can be programmed with up to 31 animals
Normal Mode:
This is the default mode on powering the cat flap and will allow only your cat(s) to
enter.

Night Mode:
For a variety of reasons many pet owners prefer their animals not to go outside at
night. The Pet Porte Smart Flap provides a mode whereby it will automatically
prevent your pet from going outside during hours of darkness and the cat flap will
automatically unlock when daylight dawns. If your pet is already outside when
darkness falls, the system will still allow the animal to enter.
To employ this mode, press the Red Button for 1 second and then release it. The unit
should beep and the red light will come on to inform you that it is in Night Mode.
When darkness falls, the green light will illuminate, indicating that the cat flap will
be locked. When daylight dawns again outside, the green light will extinguish,
indicating that the cat flap will be unlocked.
Please note: Night mode can take up to 30 seconds to start functioning.
Vet Mode:
If you are intending to take your pet to the vet, or just want it to stay inside, then
the Pet Porte Smart Flap provides a mode whereby your cat can enter but will not be
allowed out again.
To employ this mode, press the Red Button for 5 seconds, or until the red light begins
to flash, and then release it. The unit will then beep and the red light will start to
flash, indicating that the cat flap is locked and your cat cannot go out.
To exit this mode, press the Red Button again for 5 seconds, or until the red light
begins to flash, and then release it. The unit will beep again and the red light will
extinguish.
Extended Modes:
The Pet Porte Smart Flap has a number of extended modes that allow you to
customise the Smart Flap to suit your individual needs.

To enter the Extended Modes menu, press both the Red and Green Buttons for 2
seconds, or until both lights begin to flash, and then release them. The Smart Flap
should beep and the green light will come on to inform you that you have now
entered the Extended Mode menu.
For information on how to use the Extended Modes please see the Extended Modes
section on page 12 of this user guide.
If no buttons are pressed within a 20 second period, the Smart Flap will beep and
the green light will extinguish, indicating that the unit has gone back to its normal
mode of operation
Child Lock
If you wish to lock the buttons on your Smart Flap (preventing children from adjusting the modes!), press and hold the Red Button for 30 seconds. The unit should begin
to beep repeatedly. Release the Red Button and the unit will now be set to Child
Lock.
To re-enable the button controls and disable the Child Lock, repeat the above
process.
Erase Mode:
If you wish to erase all programmed animal identification numbers from the
system’s memory, please use the following procedure. However, it must be noted
that once the memory has been erased, you will have to re-program the unit with
any animals that are to use the cat flap. Therefore, please ensure that you really
wish to erase the memory before proceeding.

To erase all microchip numbers, press and hold both the Red and Green Buttons for
30 seconds. The unit should begin to beep repeatedly. Release both the Red and
Green buttons and the unit should emit a long beep and both lights should begin to
flash, indicating that the memory has been erased.
Remember: Once the unit’s memory has been erased, it will have to be
re-programmed before further use!
Default Mode
Should you wish to reset your Smart Flap back to its Default Mode, with no other
modes running, please use the following procedure.
To enter the Default Mode, press and hold the Green Button for greater than 25
seconds, or until the unit emits a series of short beeps, before releasing the button.
The unit should emit a long beep and all lights should extinguish, indicating the
Smart Flap is in it’s Default Mode of operation.
Extended Modes
The Pet Porte Smart Flap’s “extended mode” system gives you the opportunity to
tailor the Smart Flap to your individual requirements and can be accessed by pressing both the Red and Green Buttons for 2 seconds, or until both lights begin to flash,
and then release them. The Smart Flap should beep and the green light will come on
to inform you that you have now entered the “extended mode” menu.
When in “extended mode” the modes are selected by pressing the Red Button to go
“up” a mode and the Green Button to go “down” a mode. The current mode is
indicated by a number of beeps. When you are in the mode you require, a quick press
of both buttons simultaneously will activate that mode. See page 4 of this user
guide for a table of available extended modes.

Cancel Mode - 1 Beep
Indicated by a single audible beep, this option simply cancels the “extended mode”
and puts the Smart Flap back into a normal mode of operation.
Open Mode - 2 Beeps
In the unlikely event that you wish to have the Smart Flap open to allow any animal
entry, the Pet Porte Smart Flap provides a mode whereby any animal (be it microchipped or not) can enter through the Smart Flap.
When Open Mode is activated the unit will emit a long beep and the green light
should flash to show the unit is in Open Mode.
To de-activate Open Mode, activate the Open Mode once more. The unit will again
emit a long beep and the green light should extinguish, indicating the Smart Flap has
returned to a normal mode of operation.
Silent Mode - 3 Beeps:
Each time that a recognised animal enters or leaves via the Smart Flap the unit will
emit a short beep. To silence this beep, activate the Silent Mode. A short beep
should be heard, following which no further beeps will be emitted whenever your
pet enters or exits the Smart Flap.
To turn the beep back on, activate the Silent Mode once more. The unit will again
emit a short beep, following which a short beep will be emitted whenever your pet
enters or exits the Smart Flap.
Set Light Level - 4 Beeps:
When the Smart Flap is set to Night Mode the light sensor detects a pre-determined
level of ambient light and locks or unlocks the Smart Flap accordingly.

Set Light Level - 4 Beeps (continued):
If you wish to alter when the Smart Flap locks or unlocks in Night mode, simply
activate the Set Light Level mode, in the morning or evening, when the outside light
is enough for your cat to be safely outside. The unit will emit a beep and enter its
previous mode of operation.
The next time the light reaches the set level the Smart Flap will either lock or unlock,
depending if it is morning or evening.
Note: The light level setting will remain in memory even if you lose power to your
Smart Flap.
Lockout Time - 5 Beeps
The default time for your Smart Flap’s locks to return to their locked positions after
your cat’s microchip has been recognised is 4 seconds. However, should you have a
particularly timid cat, or if your cat is being chased and closely followed by a hostile
animal, the lock return time can be lengthened or shortened by the following procedure.
Activating Lockout Time from the extended mode menu will result in the red light
flashing. Press and hold the Green Button for the desired lockout time of between 1
and 25 seconds before releasing. During this period an audible beep will sound for
the duration of the button press, until the Green Button is released. On releasing the
Green Button the Smart Flap will return to its normal mode of operation.
Power-Down Lock State - 6 Beeps
If, when the Smart Flap is running in battery mode, the battery charge runs low, the
Smart Flap has a built in option to allow the locks to be set at a specified open or
closed position.

This option, for example, will allow the green lock to be open or locked when the
battery is low, preventing or allowing any animal access inside the house through
the Smart Flap. Likewise, the red lock can be set to be open or locked when the
battery is low, preventing or allowing any animal access outside the house through
the Smart Flap.
Activating “Power-Down Lock State” from the extended mode menu will result in
the unit emitting a beep. Pressing the Green Button will toggle the green lock state
between open and closed, while pressing the Red Button toggles the red lock state.
When both red and green locks are in the required position a quick press of both Red
and Green Buttons will result in a short beep sounding and the Smart Flap will return
to its normal mode of operation.

Battery Backup Facility
Your Pet Porte Smart Flap has the facility to fit a backup battery, ensuring your cat
can still have access to your house in the event of a power cut on the low voltage
power supply.
Instructions on how to fit the backup battery and the type of battery required can
be found in the installation guide supplied with the Smart Flap.
Please note that the following functions are currently unavailable with your Pet
Porte Smart Flap, when the unit is being operated by battery alone:
1) Wall Mounting - Currently the Smart Flap Battery Backup Facility is unable to
function on a wall fitted unit.
2) Night Mode - Currently Night Mode is unavailable when the unit enters battery
backup mode.

Maintenir pressés le Bouton Vert et le Bouton Rouge ensembles pendant plus de 2
secondes puis relâcher pour entrer dans le mode étendu du menu.
Quand vous êtes en mode étendu, la lumière verte est allumée. Les modes sont

Introduction
Votre Smart Flap
Votre Pet Porte Smart Flap est un développement naturel de la chatière électronique
originale créée par Pet Porte et a été conçue pour permettre à vos animaux un accès
facile au monde extérieur tout en gardant les chats envahissants hors de chez vous.
Contrairement à d’autres, la chatière Pet Porte n’oblige pas votre animal à porter un
collier ou tout autre accessoire.
La Smart Flap utilise la même technologie brevetée que la Pet Porte électronique
originale lit le numéro d’identification unique inscrit dans la micropuce que le vétérinaire a implantée dans votre animal. Aussitôt que votre chat passe sous l’avant-toit
de la chatière, le système scanne ce numéro unique et s’il correspond à l’un de ceux
enregistrés dans le programme, le loquet va s’abaisser pour laisser passer cet animal
précis. Si l’animal n’a pas été enregistré dans le programme alors ce numéro ne sera
pas reconnu et la chatière restera fermée, empêchant l’accès à votre propriété.
Si vous n’êtes pas certain(e) que votre chat a été puce, demandez simplement à
votre vétérinaire de le scanner. La Pet Porte Smart Flap est conçue pour lire la plus
utilisée des micropuces, la FDX-B ; elle ne peut pas lire les autres types de puces. Si
vous ne savez pas quelle micropuce est implantée sur votre chat, veuillez consulter
votre vétérinaire ou visiter le site www.petporte.com sur la page Vérificateur de
micropuce pour vérifier la validité de votre micropuce.
Les autres fonctions de la Smart Flap sont:
1) Possibilité d’installer une pile: Alimentée par un transformateur basse tension,
votre Smart Flap a un emplacement prévu pour recevoir une pile, assurant à vos
chats de pouvoir continuer à entrer en cas de coupure de courant.
2) Mode Nuit : Cette fonction empêche automatiquement votre chat de sortir aux

La micropuce de votre chat
Des tests poussés sur la Pet Porte, avec un large échantillon de fabricants de micropuces, ont prouvé que la technologie utilisée par les modèles de chatières Pet Porte
fonctionne parfaitement avec la majorité des micropuces FDX-B.
Quoiqu’il en soit, seul quelques chats ont une micropuce avec une lecture réduite et
un temps de réaction lent. Si c’est le cas, cela ne signifie pas que votre micropuce
est défectueuse puisque votre vétérinaire peut toujours la lire avec son propre
scanner lorsqu’il est très près de la puce. Dans ces très rares cas, la Smart Flap ne
pourra pas être utilisée pleinement dans ses fonctions d’entrée et de sortie sélective.
Si un nouvel emplacement doit être percé pour installer votre chatière, nous vous
conseillons de la tester d’abord sur votre chat avant de l’installer.

La sécurité d’abord
La chatière Smart Flap a été conçue pour votre sécurité et celle de votre animal.
Veuillez suivre les conseils suivants pour vous assurer une sécurité parfaite, surtout
pendant l’installation.
1) Nettoyez simplement la chatière avec un chiffon humide (non trempé) ou un tissu
antistatique. N’utilisez jamais de produit ménager, cela pourrait endommager votre
appareil.
2) N’utilisez que le transformateur fourni avec l’appareil. Utiliser un transformateur
non-conforme annulerait votre garantie et pourrait endommager la chatière.
3) Ne démontez pas la chatière. Cela vous exposerait à une forte tension et à des
risques divers.
4) Pendant l’installation, vous devez utiliser avec précaution les perceuses et les
outils tranchants. Si vous n’êtes pas sûr(e) de vous, préférez les services d’un
professionnel pour installer votre chatière.

Modes Opératoires
ENREGISTRER DE NOUVEAUX CHATS DANS LA SMART FLAP
Votre Smart Flap vous est fournie déprogrammée, lorsqu’elle est reliée pour la
première fois au courant électrique, les deux lumières verte et rouge vont clignoter
ensembles pour indiquer qu’aucun animal n’est enregistré. Les deux loquets sont
ouverts et permettent l’accès entrant et sortant à tout animal. Avant de procéder à
l’installation proprement dite, nous vous conseillons de tester la Smart Flap en
enregistrant vos chats comme décrit ci-dessous.
Lorsque vous voulez enregistrer votre animal, assurez-vous qu’il est près de vous,
vous aurez 30 secondes pour présenter l’animal au scanner. (Vous devrez éventuellement faire cette manipulation à deux, les chats étant naturellement méfiants à
l’égard des nouveautés !)
Maintenir le Bouton Vert pressé pendant environ 10 secondes jusqu’à ce que seule
la lumière verte reste allumée et relâchez le Bouton Vert. Un bip devrait se faire
entendre, la lumière rouge arrêter de clignoter et la lumière verte clignotera seule.
Vous avez 30 secondes pour amener l’avant-toit de la Smart Flap au dessus du cou
de votre chat. A cette étape, vous n’avez pas à pousser votre chat entièrement à
travers la chatière et risquer ainsi de l’effrayer. Les micropuces sont généralement
implantées entre les omoplates de l’animal ; cette partie seulement doit se trouver
sous l’avant-toit afin d’entrer le numéro unique de ce chat. Vous allez entendre trois
bips. La lumière verte va s’arrêter de clignoter et le loquet vert va se mettre en
position fermée pour bloquer l’entrée.
Si la manipulation ne fonctionne pas du premier coup, recommencez tout simplement. Vous devrez enregistrer séparément chacun de vos chats en utilisant la même
méthode. Votre Pet Porte Smart Flap peut enregistrer jusqu’à 31 animaux.
Mode Normal:
C’est le mode par défaut lorsque la chatière est sous tension et elle ne laisse
entrer que vos chats.

Mode Nuit:
Pour diverses raisons, certains maîtres préfèrent que leur animal ne sorte pas
librement la nuit. La Pet Porte Smart Flap présente un mode qui permet d’interdire à
vos animaux de sortir durant les heures nocturnes tout en se débloquant automatiquement au lever du jour. Si votre animal n’est pas encore entré, il pourra le faire,
cette fonction ne bloque que la sortie.
Pour utiliser ce mode, presser le Bouton Rouge pendant une seconde et le relâcher.
L’appareil va bipper et la lumière rouge va s’allumer pour vous informer que le Mode
Nuit est activé. Lorsque le soir tombe, la lumière verte va s’allumer, indiquant que la
chatière est fermée à la sortie. Lorsque le jour se lève, la lumière verte va s’éteindre,
indiquant que la chatière est à nouveau ouverte à la sortie.
Veuillez noter: Le mode Nuit peut prendre jusqu’à 30 secondes avant d’être effectif.
Mode Véto:
Si vous prévoyez d’emmener votre animal chez le vétérinaire ou si vous voulez
simplement qu’il reste à l’intérieur, la Pet Porte Smart Flap présente un mode qui
permet à votre chat d’entrer mais ne le laissera pas ressortir.
Pour utiliser ce mode, presser le Bouton Rouge pendant 5 secondes jusqu’à ce que
la lumière rouge se mette à clignoter, puis relâcher. L’appareil va bipper et la lumière
rouge clignote, indiquant que la chatière est fermée à la sortie.
Pour sortir de ce mode, presser à nouveau le Bouton Rouge pendant 5 secondes
jusqu’à ce que la lumière rouge clignote et relâcher. L’appareil va bipper à nouveau
et la lumière rouge va s’éteindre.

La Pet Porte Smart Flap possède un certain nombre de modes étendus qui vous
permettent de personnaliser la Smart Flap selon vos besoins.

Pour entrer dans les fonctions de Modes Etendus, presser les Boutons Rouge et Vert
pendant 2 secondes jusqu’à ce que les deux lumières clignotent puis relâcher. La
Smart Flap va bipper et la lumière verte va rester allumée vous informant que vous
êtes dans le menu du Mode Etendu.
Pour les informations concernant l’utilisation des Modes Etendus, veuillez consulter
la section Modes Etendus à la page 28 de ce guide.
Si aucun bouton n’est pressé Durant 20 secondes, la Smart Flap va bipper et la
lumière verte va s’éteindre, indiquant que l’appareil est revenu à son mode normal
de fonctionnement.
Sécurité Enfants:
Si vous voulez bloquer les boutons de la Smart Flap (pour que les enfants ne
puissant être tentés de programmer !), maintenir le Bouton Rouge pressé pendant 30
secondes. L’appareil va alors émettre des bips répétés. Relâcher le Bouton Rouge, la
Sécurité Enfants est active.
Pour débloquer cette Sécurité Enfants, répétez le processus, les fonctions de
programmation sont accessibles à nouveau.
Mode Effacer:
Si vous souhaitez effacer tous les chats enregistrés dans la mémoire système,
veuillez suivre la procédure suivante. Toutefois, veuillez noter qu’une fois que la
mémoire est effacée, vous devrez réenregistrer tout animal qui va utiliser la
chatière. Ainsi, soyez bien sûr(e) que vous voulez réellement tout effacer avant de
procéder à la manipulation.

Pour effacer tous les numéros de puces enregistrés, maintenir les Boutons Rouge et
Vert presses pendant 30 secondes. L’appareil va émettre des bips répétés. Relâcher
ensembles les Boutons Vert et Rouge, l’appareil va émettre un long bip et les deux
lumières vont commencer à clignoter indiquant que la mémoire a été effacée.
Rappel: Une fois la mémoire efface, elle devra être entièrement reprogrammée pour
l’utilisation de la chatière!
Mode par Défaut:
Si vous souhaitez réinitialiser votre chatière au Mode par Défaut (seuls vos chats
peuvent entrer) et qu’aucun autre mode ne soit actif, procédez comme suit.
Pour initialiser le Mode par Défaut, maintenir le Bouton Vert pressé pendant plus de
25 secondes jusqu’à ce que l’appareil émette une série de bips courts puis relâcher.
L’appareil va maintenant émettre un long bip et toutes les lumières vont s’éteindre,
indiquant que la Smart Flap est en Mode par Défaut.
Modes Etendus
Le système de “Mode Etendu” de la Pet Porte Smart Flap vous donne la possibilité de
la personnaliser à votre convenance. Vous accédez à ces fonctions en pressant
ensembles le Bouton Rouge et le Bouton Vert pendant 2 secondes jusqu’à ce que les
deux lumières commencent à clignoter, puis relâcher. La Smart Flap va bipper et la
lumière verte va s’allumer pour vous indiquer que vous êtes désormais dans le menu
« Mode Etendu ».
Lorsque vous êtes en “Mode Etendu” les différentes fonctions sont sélectionnées
en pressant le Bouton Rouge pour “avancer” et le Bouton Vert pour « reculer » dans
les modes. Le mode actuel est indiqué par le nombre de bips. Lorsque vous êtes dans
le mode désiré, pressez rapidement et simultanément les deux boutons pour activer
ce mode. Voir la table des différents modes disponibles en page 20 de ce guide.

Mode Annuler – 1 Bip:
Indiqué par un seul bip sonore, cette option annule simplement le “mode étendu” et
replace la Smart Flap dans le mode normal de fonctionnement.
Mode Ouvrir – 2 Bips:
Dans l’éventualité peu probable ou vous voudriez que la Smart Flap laisse entrer
tout animal, la Pet Porte Smart Flap prévoit un mode dans lequel tout animal
(micropucé ou non) peut entrer par la chatière.
Lorsque le Mode Ouvert est activé, l’appareil va émettre un long bip et la lumière
verte va clignoter pour montrer qu’il est en Mode Ouvert.
Pour désactiver le Mode Ouvert, refaire la même opération. L’appareil va émettre à
nouveau un long bip et la lumière verte va s’éteindre, indiquant que la Smart Flap est
revenue à son mode normal de fonctionnement.
Mode Silencieux – 3 Bips:
Chaque fois qu’un animal entre ou sort par la Smart Flap, l’appareil va émettre un bip
court. Pour le supprimer, activez le Mode Silencieux. Un court bip se fera entendre
pour qu’ensuite plus aucun son ne soit émis lorsque vos animaux entreront ou
sortiront par la Smart Flap.
Pour remettre le bip en fonction, activez à nouveau le Mode Silencieux. L’appareil va
émettre à nouveau un court bip pour ensuite biper rapidement à chaque entrée ou
sortie d’un animal par la Smart Flap.
Réglage de la photosensibilité– 4 Bips:
Lorsque le Mode Nuit de la chatière est actif, le capteur de lumière détecte un
niveau d’intensité lumineuse ambiante et fermer ou ouvre la Smart Flap selon
l’intensité de cette lumière.

Réglage de la photosensibilité – 4 Bips (suite):
Si vous voulez modifier le moment ou la Smart Flap va se fermer ou s’ouvrir en Mode
Nuit, activez simplement le Réglage de la Photosensibilité, le matin ou le soir, au
moment ou vous pensez que votre chat peut être sortir en toute sécurité. L’appareil
va émettre un bip et reviendra à son mode de fonctionnement précédent.
La prochaine fois que la lumière atteindra le niveau enregistré, la Smart Flap’s
s’ouvrira ou se fermera selon que l’on sera le matin ou le soir.
Note: Le niveau de photosensibilité restera en mémoire même en cas de déconnexion électrique.
Temps de Fermeture – 5 Bips:
Par défaut, la Smart Flap est programmée pour se refermer 4 secondes après que la
puce de votre chat ait été reconnue. Mais il se peut que vous ayez un chat particulièrement timide qui hésite à entrer ou au contraire un chat constamment poursuivi
par un animal hostile, le temps de fermeture du loquet peut être raccourci ou
rallongé selon les indications suivantes.
En activant la fonction “Temps de Fermeture” du mode étendu, la lumière rouge va
clignoter. Maintenir le Bouton Vert préssé pendant le Temps de Fermeture souhaité
de 1 à 25 secondes avant de relâcher. Pendant ce laps de temps, un bip sonore se
fera entendre tant que le Bouton Vert sera pressé. En relâchant le Bouton Vert, la
Smart Flap reviendra à son mode normal de fonctionnement.
Position du Loquet si Pile Faible – 6 Bips:
Lorsque la Smart Flap fonctionne en mode pile et que cette pile est devenue faible,
la Smart Flap possède une option pour mettre les loquets en position ouverte ou
fermée.

Position du Loquet si Pile Faible – 6 Bips (suite):
Cette option, par exemple, selon votre choix, va positionner le loquet vert sur
ouvert ou fermé lorsque la pile s’affaiblit, permettant ou interdisant l’accès entrant
à tout animal. De la même façon, le loquet rouge peut être programmé pour rester
fermé ou ouvert quand la pile s’affaiblit pour permettre ou interdire l’accès sortant
à tout animal.
En activant le mode “Position du Loquet si Pile Faible » depuis le menu des modes
étendus, vous allez entendre un bip. En pressant le Bouton Vert, vous allez positionner le loquet vert ouvert ou fermé, le Bouton Rouge gère le loquet rouge.
Lorsque les deux loquets vert et rouge sont dans la position souhaitée, pressez
rapidement les deux Boutons Rouge et Vert ensembles, vous entendrez un bip court
et la Smart Flap reviendra à son mode normal de fonctionnement.

Pressen sie beide Knöpfe/Tasten für >2 Sekunden und lassen sie dann los, um die
erweiterten Möglichkeiten freizuschalten.
Sobald die erweiterten Möglichkeiten frei geschaltet sind, leuchtet das grüne Licht. Sie können
dann zwischen den diversen Modi auswählen indem sie mit dem roten Knopf einen Modus
„aufwärts“ schalten und mit dem grünen Knopf einen Modus „runter“ schalten. Der jeweilige
Modus ist erkennbar anhand der Anzahl Piepstöne. Sobald sie den gewünschten Modus erreicht

Ihre Smart Katzenklappe
Die Pet Porte Smart Flap ist eine natürliche Weiterentwicklung der originalen Pet
Porte Mikrochip Katzenklappe und erlaubt ihren Tieren einen einfachen Zugang zur
Aussenwelt während sie gleichzeitig verhindert, dass fremde Tiere ins Haus
kommen. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Katzenklappen muss ihr Haustier kein Halsband
oder anderes Zubehör für Pet Porte tragen.
Smart Flap benützt dieselbe patentierte Technologie und liest die unique Identifikationsnummer des Mikrochips, den Tierärzte unter die Haut von Tieren implantieren.
Jedes Mal, wenn sich ihre Katze unter dem Vordach befindet, wird das System die
Identifikationsnummer scannen. Stimmt die Nummer mit der einprogrammierten
Nummer für diese Katze überein, öffnet sich der Verschluss und erlaubt diesem Tier
hineinzukommen. Falls das Tier noch nicht einprogrammiert ist, stimmt die Nummer

Der Mikrochip ihrer Katze
Ausführliche Tests von Pet Porte mit einer grossen Auswahl mit Mikrochips der
herkömmlichen Mikrochip-Hersteller haben bewiesen, dass die Pet Porte Katzenklappen mit der Mehrheit der FDX-B Mikrochips perfekt funktionieren.
Allerdings gibt es einen kleinen Prozentsatz von Katzen, die einen Mikrochip mit
einer kürzeren Reichweite haben und somit eine langsamere Reaktionszeit. Das
heisst nicht, dass der Mikrochip fehlerhaft ist, da ihr Tierarzt ihn immer noch mit
einem von Hand gehaltenen Gerät lesen kann, da man damit näher an den Mikrochip kommt. In diesen Ausnahmefällen kann die Pet Porte Smart Flap nur wie eine
traditionelle Katzenklappe benützt werden ohne selektiven Ein- oder Ausgang.
Falls sie zur Installation ein neues Loch in eine Türe oder eine Mauer schneiden
müssen, raten wir unbedingt, Smart Flap zuerst mit ihrer Katze auszuprobieren.

Sicherheit zuerst
Die Pet Porte Katzenklappen wurden entwickelt für ihre Sicherheit und diejenige
ihrer Haustiere, vor allem während der Installation.
1) Reinigen sie die Katzenklappe mit einem feuchten (nicht nassem) Tuch oder
verwenden sie antistatische Tücher. Benutzen sie niemals Haushaltsreiniger/
polierer, da diese dem Produkt schaden könnten.
2) Verwenden sie nur den mitgelieferten Elektro-Anschluss mit diesem Produkt.
Unautorisierte Elektro-Anschlüsse können die Katzenklappe beschadigen und
machen Garantie Ansprüche ungültig.
3) Nehmen sie die Katzenklappe nie auseinander. Sie könnten durch Strom und
andere Risiken gefährdet werden.
4) Seien sie vorsichtig im Umgang mit Bohrern, Sägen und anderen Werkzeugen
während der Installation. Falls sie unsicher sind, lassen sie die Katzenklappe von
einer Fachperson installieren.

NEUE KATZEN EINPROGRAMMIEREN
Da Smart Flap zu Beginn noch keine Katzen einprogrammiert hat blinken beide
Lichter (rot&grün) sobald das Kabel eingesteckt ist. Die beiden Verschlüsse sind
ebenfalls offen, so dass jegliche Katze rein oder raus kann. Wir raten ihnen, das
Smart Flap zuerst zu testen, in dem sie ihre Katzen einprogrammieren bevor sie es in
eine Tür oder Wand installieren. Das Programmieren geht wie folgt:
Wenn sie zum ersten Mal ein Tier einprogrammieren, stellen sie sicher, dass es sich
in der Nähe aufhält, da sie 30 Sekunden Zeit haben um das Tier mit dem Scanner
einzulesen. (Es ist sinnvoll, einen Helfer zur Hand zu haben, da Katzen von Natur aus
gegenüber neuen Dingen misstrauisch sind.)
Pressen sie den grünen Knopf für 10 Sekunden bis das grüne Licht permanent leuchtet
und lassen sie dann los. Sie hören einen Piepston, das rote Licht hört auf zu blinken
und nur das grüne blinkt weiterhin. Sie haben nun 30 Sekunden Zeit das Vordach über
ihre Katze zu halten. Sie müssen die Katze nicht unbedingt durch die Klappe schieben
da das oft nur unnötigen Stress verursacht. Da Mikrochips normalerweise zwischen
den Schulterblättern (in D/CH aber oft auch auf der linken Seite des Halses) platziert
sind, muss vor allem der Vorderteil des Tieres unter das Vordach, so dass die Identifikationsnummer gelesen werden kann. Sobald der Mikrochip erfolgreich gescannt
wird piepst das Smart Flap drei Mal. Das grüne Licht hört jetzt auf zu blinken und der
grüne Verschluss schliesst die Klappe gegen innen.
Falls diese Prozedur das erstre Mal nicht klappen sollte, wiederholen sie es nachdem
das grüne Licht verschwunden ist.
Sie müssen jede Katze separat einprogrammieren. Es können bis zu 31 Tiere ins
Petporte Smart Flap programmiert werden.
Normal-Modus:
Dieser Modus beginnt mit dem Einstecken der Katzenklappe und erlaubt nur den
programmierten Katzen einzutreten.

Nacht-Modus:
Es gibt viele Gründe weshalb Besitzer ihre Tiere über Nacht einsperren wollen. Pet
Porte Smart Flap hat einen Modus, mit dem sie den Tieren verbieten können
während der Stunden der Dunkelheit nach draussen zu gehen: Die Katzenklappe
schliesst automatisch sobald die Dämmerung einsetzt. Falls sich ihr Tier schon
draussen befindet wenn es dunkel wird, kann es immer noch wie normal reinkommen.
Um diese Funktion einzustellen, pressen sie den roten Knopf für 1 Sekunde und
lassen dann los. Die Einheit piepst und das rote Licht leuchtet, um ihnen anzuzeigen,
dass der Nacht-Modus eingestellt ist. Sobald es dunkel ist, wird auch das grüne Licht
aufleuchten, um anzuzeigen, dass die Katzenklappe nun geschlossen ist. Mit der
Rückkehr des Tageslicht erlöscht das grüne Licht, und die Katzenklappe ist wieder
offen.
Bitte beachten sie: Der Nacht-Modus benötigt bis zu 30 Sekunden, um die Funktion
zu starten.
Tierarzt-Modus:
Falls ihr Haustier einen Tierarzttermin hat oder sie es im Haus einsperren wollen, hat
das Pet Porte Smart Flap eine Funktion mit welcher ihre Katze reinkommen aber
nicht mehr rausgehen kann.
Um diese Funktion einzustellen pressen sie den roten Knopf für 5 Sekunden oder bis
das rote Licht zu blinken beginnt und lassen dann los. Die Einheit piepst, das rote
Licht blinkt und zeigt an, dass die Klappe verschlossen ist und die Katze nicht mehr
raus kann.
Um diese Funktion zu beenden, pressen sie den roten Knopf wieder für 5 Sekunden
oder bis das rote Licht blinkt und lassen dann los. Die Einheit piepst wieder und das
rote Licht sollte dann ausgelöscht sein.
Erweiterte Modi:
Pet Porte Smart Flap hat eine Anzahl erweiterte Funktionen die es ihnen ermöglichen das Gerät individuellen Bedürfnissen anzupassen.

Um zu den erweiterten Funktionen zu, gelangen pressen sie den roten und den
grünen Knopf gleichzeitig für 2 Sekunden oder bis beide Lichter zu blinken beginnen
und lassen dann los. Das Smart Flap piepst und das grüne Licht erscheint, um ihnen
anzuzeigen, dass sie nun im erweiterten Modus-Programm sind.
Zur Information, wie die erweiterten Funktionen zu gebrauchen sind, sehen sie auf
Seite 44 dieser Gebrauchsanweisung nach.
Falls sie innerhalb von 20 Sekunden keine Knöpfe pressen, kehrt das Smart Flap nach
einem Piepston in die normalen Funktionen zurück
Kindersperre:
Falls sie die Tastenfunktion des Smart Flaps sperren wollen (um Kinder daran zu
hindern die Funktionen zu verändern) drücken sie den roten Knopf für 30 Sekunden.
Die Einheit piepst nun kontinuierlich. Lassen sie den Knopf los und die Kindersperre
ist eingeschaltet.
Um die Knöpfe wieder zu bedienen können, repetieren sie den Vorgang.
Lösch-Modus:
Falls sie alle programmierten Tieridentifikationsnummern aus dem System löschen
wollen, folgen sie diesen Anweisungen. Allerdings sollten sie beachten, dass sie,
nachdem das System gelöscht wurde, alle Tiere wieder einprogrammieren müssen
welche die Katzenklappe benutzen dürfen. Machen sie den nächsten Schritt also
nur, wenn sie sich sicher sind, dass sie das Programm wirklich löschen wollen.

Lösch-Modus (Fortsetzung):
Um alle Mikrochip Nummern auszulöschen, pressen sie den roten und den grünen
Knopf gleichzeitig für 30 Sekunden. Die Einheit piepst nun kontinuierlich. Wenn sie
die Knöpfe loslassen ertönt ein langer Piepston und beide Lichter blinken, um
anzuzeigen, dass der Speicher gelöscht wurde.
Achtung: Nachdem der Speicher gelöscht wird muss er vor weiterem Gebrauch
wieder programmiert werden.
Deaktivierungs-Modus
Bringt sie in den Anfangszustand zurück in dem alle anderen Modi deaktiviert
werden.
Um den Deaktivierungs-Modus zu wählen, pressen sie den grünen Knopf für mehr
als 30 Sekunden oder bis eine Serie kurzer Piepstöne ertönt und lassen dann los. Es
sollte nun ein langer Ton ertönen und alle Lichter erlöschen, um zu zeigen, dass das
Smart Flap nun wieder in der Normal-Funktion ist.
Erweiterte Funktionen
Das Erweiterte-Funktions-System von Pet Porte Smart Flap ermöglicht ihnen das
Gerät ihren individuellen Bedürfnissen anzupassen. Pressen sie den roten und den
grünen Knopf gleichzeitig für 2 Sekunden oder bis beide Lichter blinken. Das Smart
Flap piepst nun, um ihnen mitzuteilen, dass sie im erweiterten Funktionsmenu sind.
Sobald sie im erweiteren Funktionsmenu sind, können sie zwischen den verschiedenen Funktionen wählen in dem sie mit dem roten Knopf eine Stufe „höher“ gehen
und mit dem grünen Knopf eine Stufe „runter“ schalten. Die jeweilige Funktion wird
mit der Anzahlt Piepstöne bestätigt. Wenn sie die gewünschte Funktion erreicht
haben, pressen sie kurz beide Tasten gleichzeitig, um die Funktion zu aktivieren. Sehen
sie auf Seite 36 des Inhaltsverzeichnisses eine Liste der möglichen Funktionen.

Funktion Beenden – 1 Piepston:
Begleitet von einem einzigen Piepston beendet dieser Modus das erweiterte
Funktionsmenu und bringt sie in das normale Betriebssystem zurück.
Offener Modus – 2 Piepstöne:
Im unwahrscheinlichen Fall, dass sie das Smart Flap offen lassen wollen, so dass alle
Tiere reinkommen können hat das Smart Flap diesen Modus bei dem jegliches Tier
mit oder ohne Mikrochip durch die Katzenklappe kommen kann.
Wenn der offene Modus aktiviert wird ertönt ein langer Piepston und das grüne
Licht beginnt zu blinken.
Um den offenen Modus zu deaktivieren folgen sie demselben Vorgang wie beim
Aktivieren. Es ertönt wieder ein langer Piepston und das grüne Licht erlöscht, um
anzuzeigen, damit das Smart Flap wieder im normalen Betrieb ist.
Lautloser Modus – 3 Piepstöne:
Jedes Mal, wenn ein programmiertes Tier das Smart Flap benutzt (hineinkommt oder
rausgeht) ertönt ein kurzer Piepston sobald der Scanner es erkennt. Um diesen Ton
zu stoppen, nutzen sie den lautlosen Modus. Ein kurzer Ton zeigt an, dass sie die
Funktion aktiviert haben, und nachfolgend gibt es keinen Laut mehr, wenn die
Klappe benützt wird.
Um den Ton wieder einzustellen, wiederholen sie den Vorgang. Es ertönt wieder ein
kurzer Pieps gefolgt von einem Ton jedesmal wenn eine Katze die Klappe benutzt.
Licht-Niveauregler – 4 Piepstöne:
Wenn sie den Nacht-Modus einstellen, reagiert der Lichtsensor auf ein voreingestelltes Niveau der Dämmerung und schliesst und öffnet das Smart Flap entsprechend.

Lichtniveau-Regler – 4 Piepstöne (Fortsetzung):
Falls sie das Licht Level des Nacht-Modus andern wollen, aktivieren sie den
Lichtniveau-Regler am Morgen oder Abend, sobald es nach ihrer Ansicht draussen
genügend Licht hat, damit ihre Katze sicher rausgehen kann. Die Einheit piepst und
geht in den vorhergehenden Operationsmodus zurück.
Von nun an wird das Smart Flap - sobald entsprechende Licht-Level erreicht wird schliessen (abends) oder öffnen (morgens).
Das gewählte Lichtniveau bleibt auch im Falle eines Stromausfalls gespeichert.
Zeitspannenregler – 5 Piepstöne:
Das Smart Flap schliesst normalerweise automatisch 4 Sekunden nachdem der
Mikrochip der Katze zuletzt gelesen wurde. Es gibt aber Fälle (zum Beispiel wenn sie
eine sehr scheue Katze haben oder ihre Katze von einer anderen verfolgt wird), wo
sie die Verschlusszeit ändern und ihren Bedürfnissen anpassen wollen. Die
Verschlusszeit kann entweder gekürzt oder verlängert werden.
Sobald sie den Zeitspannenregler aus den erweiterten Funktionen auswählen, blinkt
das rote Licht. Pressen sie nun den grünen Knopf zwischen 1-25 Sekunden und
lassen los, sobald die gewünschte Zeit erreicht ist. Es ertönt ein Ton bis der grüne
Knopf losgelassen wird. Danach kehrt das Smart Flap in den Normalbetrieb zurück.
Batterieausfall – 6 Piepstöne:
Wenn die Batterie leer ist (Batteriebetrieb), kann man im Voraus programmieren, ob
die Katzenklappe während des Stromunterbruches offen oder geschlossen sein soll.

Mit dieser Funktion kann man also den grünen Verschluss entweder in der offenen
oder geschlossenen Position lassen wenn die Batterie ausfällt, so dass die Katze
immer noch reinkommen kann oder eben draussen bleiben muss. Dasselbe können
sie auch mit dem äusseren roten Verschluss machen, um die Katze einzuschliessen
oder rauszulassen.
Wenn sie das Schliessmechanismus-Programm aus den erweiterten Funktionen
auswählen, ertönt ein Pieps. Pressen sie nun den grünen Knopf, um den grünen
Verschluss in die gewünschte Position zu bringen und den roten Knopf für den roten
Verschluss.
Wenn beide Verschlüsse eingestellt sind, pressen sie die beiden Tasten kurz
gleichzeitig und ein Piepston zeigt an, dass sie sich wieder im normalen Betrieb
befinden.
