One of the great gifts of the stewardship lifestyle is
the acute awareness that everything in life is a gift
from God. This includes our relationships. Todays’
first reading and Gospel focus on marriage in particular. God, in His infinite wisdom, knows that we
need ‘helpers’, that we should not be alone in our
faith journey. In marriage, and in the relationships
we enjoy with our sisters and brothers in the Body
of Christ, good stewardship is doing whatever we
can to help each other get to Heaven!

27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
27e dimanche du temps ordinaire
October 7, 2012
27th Sunday in Ordinary
Time: It is God’s plan that those who
are joined in matrimony are to remain together for life. The first two chapters of
the Book of Genesis offer two different
stories of creation. The one we hear today
emphasizes how God instituted matrimony
at the very dawn of creation. As He created man and woman to be suitable partners for one another and to join themselves together in a
oneness of love for the whole of their lives.
27e dimanche du temps ordinaire:
L’homme et la femme forment ensemble un mystère d’identité et d’altérité. Au-delà des réussites et des échecs de leur
union, ils sont invités à se lier l’un à l’autre pour que règne
l’amour.
On this Thansgiving Weekend, let us remember
our many blessings...family, health, abundance of food...and
the list goes on. This is also a perfect time to remember those less fortunate than ourselves and how we can help them.
En cette fin de semaine d’Action de grâce, prenons le
temps de Lui dire merci...merci pour ma vie, ma santé, ma
famille qui m’entoure. Merci pour le manger qui me soutient et les fermiers qui le cultive...merci Dieu, merci!
School Mass...The
Annunciation School family will
celebrate mass here in church on Wednesday October 10,
2012 at 11:00 am. All are encouraged to attend.
Mass at Chez-Nous Lodge...Mass will be celebrated at Chez-Nous Lodge with Anointing on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 9:30 am. Come and join us!
The Readings / Les lectures:
Next Sunday’s readings are:
Genesis 2.7, 15, 18-24; Hebrews 2.9-11; Mark 10.2-16.
Les lectures pour dimanche prochain sont:
Genèse 2, 18-24; Hébreux 2, 9-11; Marc 10, 2-16.
Parish Thanksgiving Appeal
Sometimes it is difficult to envision how one donation
can help, how it can make a real difference. But each
donation does make a difference because of all the
other parishioners who also make a donation. The
gifts of many enable our parish to deliver needed ministries and services. Please consider making a donation to this year’s Thanksgiving Parish Appeal.

The CWL Bazaar Committee was very pleased with the success of this year’s Autumn Fest Bazaar. This would not be
possible without all of your support. THANK YOU!
CWL Members… who came out to help with the prep
ration days. Things went so well, from the mixing of pie
dough, the baking of pies, tarts, etc. Your donations of penny sale items, baked goods, monetary donations and toonies
for the grocery gift card raffle were quite generous. Many of
you gave your precious time selling raffle tickets at the grocery stores. Thanks to several committee members who made the bazaar information available this year on the parish
website and on Facebook. A great many of you shared your
precious time and talents toward this event…truly helpful!
Volunteers...who helped on the prep and bazaar days, and
to the Squirette’s who worked in the kitchen, cleared the
lunch tables and helped in the Children’s Room and to the
students who assisted us.
Local merchants…who donated articles or gift certificates
for the penny sale, to those who allowed us to put up flyers,
and to the Belle River Lions service club who advertised our
event on their outdoor signage. Thanks to the Tilbury Times
for coming to photograph and report the event.
Craft vendors...who sold their crafts and handmade goods,
and to those who donated an article for the hourly draws.
Parish staff...who assisted us with many requests throughout the prep and bazaar days.
Non-members...who donated baked goods, items toward
our Penny Sale and for those who donated apples.
Parishioners and the public who attended this event and to
those who donated childrens’ books/games/videos to our
Missions table. All donations made at this table were clear
profit and will be 100% donated.
Husbands and family members of our ladies for their help
with the setup of tables, the clearing of the hall following the
bazaar, delivery and pickup of the baker’s rack, putting up
outdoor signs...it couldn’t happen without your assistance!
To anyone else who assisted the bazaar committee in any
way...thank you!
Bazaar Committee members...who dedicated many hours
year round, from early spring, throughout the summer months, including a November follow-up meeting. As always,
you ladies have done an outstanding job this year in fulfilling
your responsibilities...without your commitment this annual
fundraising event could not happen. The days leading up to
and including the bazaar day went without a hitch due to the
superb organization of the Committee! Many comments
were made on the ambiance of our fall bazaar!
Thank you from,
Kathy Levesque ( Visitation CWL President/Autumn Fest
Bazaar Committee member ) & Yvette Gaudette ( Bazaar
Committee member )
