2013 Research Grants
The Canadian Dermatology Foundation was established in 1969 to provide assistance in
research into skin disease.
At the CDF Research Grant Awards Reception held on June 30 in Québec City, 13 researchers
received a total of $370,000, having successfully competed in a critical peer review conducted
under the authority of the Scientific Advisory Committee. The CDF has awarded over
$6,000,000 to Canadian researchers since 1969, which is a significant investment in our field
of scientific endeavour.
Please note the deadline to submit your 2014 CDF grant application is Monday, February 3, 2014.
The CDF research grant application and guidelines are available here:

Dr. Frederik Kalz Bursary
The CDF invites applications for the Dr. Frederick Kalz Bursary which is open to all residents
enrolled in a Canadian training program in Dermatology. Please download the application
form and guidelines here: http://www.cdf.ca/kalz.php.
Are you a Life Member or thinking of becoming one?
The strength of the CDF today owes a great deal to the loyal support of Members, Life
Members, and especially our Benefactor Life Members, many of whom have described it as
their way "to give back to dermatology".
Many Life Members who have made an initial contribution of $2,000 have decided to use the
stepping-stone approach. Designating a Life Membership as the first of five annual
installments, for a total of $10,000, has proven to be a practical and achievable means of
becoming a Benefactor Life Member.
Consider this option when you decide to become a Life Member. Contact the CDF Treasurer
for more details.
Have you renewed your 2013 membership dues?
We encourage our members to conveniently renew their CDF Membership or make an
additional donation on the CDF website. It’s convenient, secure, and receipting is immediate.
