COMPOSITION DU COMITE DIRECTEUR MIXTE COI-OHI POUR LA GEBCO

Monsieur le Directeur,

A la suite de la démission de M Alexis HADJIANTONIOU (Grèce) du Comité directeur de la GEBCO, le BHI
a demandé, dans la référence susmentionnée, que des candidats soient proposés en vue de son remplacement. Le BHI
tient à remercier les 24 Etats membres suivants pour leur réponse : Afrique du Sud, Argentine, Canada, Colombie,
Corée (Rép. de), Croatie, Chypre, Espagne, Estonie, Finlande, Indonésie, Italie, Japon, Mexique, Nouvelle-Zélande,
Norvège, Pays-Bas, Philippines, Pologne, Slovénie, Suède, Turquie, Ukraine et Royaume-Uni.

Deux pays ont proposé des membres pour le Comité directeur de la GEBCO :

CURRICULUM VITAE : Cdr. PAOLO LUSIANI
Born in 1958, he attended the Italian Naval Academy in Livorno from 1977 to 1981.
After the Naval Academy he attended the Navigation and Telecommunication Course at the Navy Training Centre in
Taranto.
Then he was the navigator in different ships and executive officer on sail training ships of the Italian Navy and in 1984
he attended the Superior Course at the Italian Naval Academy in Livorno.
From 1984 to 1986 he attended the course in hydrography at the Italian Hydrographic Office where he obtained the FIG
– IHO Class “A” certificate in hydrography.
He had different experiences as hydrographic and oceanographic officer on board of Italian Survey Vessels working in
the Mediterranean Sea, Arctic Sea and also Antarctic Sea within the Italian Antarctic Project.
From 1990 to 1996 he worked at the Italian Hydrographic Office as Chief of Geophysics Division and Chief of
Instruments Division.
In the same period he was teacher of oceanographic measurements at the HO (level “A” course) and also lecturer at
International Maritime Academy in Trieste.
He was also the Italian delegate to the Nato Military Oceanography Main Group (MILOC Main Group).
From 1996 to 1998 he was Executive Officer on board of the Italian Navy frigate "Alpino" and from 1998 to 1999
Commanding Officer of the Italian Navy Sailing Ship "Palinuro".
At the end of that period he returned to the Italian Hydrographic Office where he was Chief of the Cartographic
Division from 1999 to 2001 and where he is now the Chief of Survey and Production Department.
During this last period he attended to the Strategic Plan WG (SPWG) as MBSHC representative and to Hydrographic
Committee of Antarctica as Italian representative.
He is married with two children.
