Session plénière 1: Abderrazak JEMAI Chairman: Pr Noureddine BOUDRIGUA « INNOVATION ET RECHERCHE EN TIC : STRATEGIE & VISION » Abderrazak Jemai- Directeur Général du CNI Session Orale 1 Chairman: Pr. Zied CHTOUROU A SECURED DATA STORAGE IN CLOUD COMPUTING USING A NEW CRYPTOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUE Sana BELGUITH1, 2, Abderrazak JEMAI 3, Leyla TOUMI 1, 4 and Rabah ATTIA1 1 Laboratory of Electronic Systems and Communication Network, TUNISIA Polytechnic School 2 TELNET Innovation Labs, Telnet Holding 3 Laboratoire LIP2, Faculté des Sciences de Tunis, Tunisie 4 Borj El Amri Aviation School, Tunisia [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] Cloud computing is a new architecture that has released users from hardware requirements and complexity. The rapid transition toward clouds has advanced many concerns related to security issues which can hold back its widespread adoption. In fact, cloud computing’s special architecture has introduced many challenges especially in maintaining the security of outsourced data. Thus, to address this issue, we propose in this article, a new lightweight encryption algorithm which consists of combining symmetric algorithm to encrypt data and asymmetric one to distribute keys. This combination helps to benefit from the efficient security of asymmetric encryption and the rapid performance of symmetric encryption while conserving the rights of users to access data by a secured and authorized way. Evaluation results prove that the processing time of our lightweight algorithm is faster than state-of-theart cryptographic algorithms. 11 SECURITY AND PRIVACY IN IOT Arbia RIAHI1, Zied CHTOUROU1 and Abdelaziz SAMET2 1 2 VRIT Lab., Military Academy of Tunisia, Nabeul, Tunisia SERCOM Lab., Tunisian Polytechnic School, La Marsa, Tunisia [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Recently, the number of IOT applications has increased rapidly in many domains such as healthcare, transportation, smart homes/offices, electronics, etc. The involvement of smart objects into such a complex system makes IOT security very difficult to address. In this work we propose a new taxonomy for IOT vision, a security roadmap overview, and possible research directions. AN EFFECTIVE AND DISTRIBUTED PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM FOR FLEXIBLE JOB-SHOP SCHEDULING PROBLEM Maroua Nouiri1, Abderrazak Jemai1 and Smail Niar2 Lip2 Laboratory, Faculty of Science of Tunis, Tunisia 2 Lamih Laboratory, Université de Valenciennes et du Hainaut-Cambrésis, F-59313 Valenciennes 1 [email protected] Flexible job-shop scheduling problem (FJSP) still an open area of research. To solve this problem, we apply particle swarm optimization (PSO) to minimize the maximum completion time criterion. Our other objective, is to study the distribution of the PSO-Solving method for future implementation on embedded systems that can make decisions in real time according to the state of resources and any unplanned or unforeseen events. For this aim, two Multi-agent based approaches are proposed and compared using different benchmark instances. LTE-BASED VPN: A NEW ARCHITECTURE WITH TWO AUTHENTICATION ALTERNATIVES Meriem SALHI, Maroua GHARAM and Noureddine BOUDRIGA Communication Networks and Security (CNAS) Research Lab ({mariem.slh, gharam1989, noure.boudriga2}@gmail.com) We propose in this paper a novel prospective vision of virtual private networks built upon the fourth generation small cell technology. The proposed architecture promotes the enterprise manageability on its private connections, established over LTE. In fact, the small cell node is renovated by adding USIM cards enabling it to act as a gateway between employees and the LTE core system. Furthermore, two authentication alternatives are proposed. The first one is a totally local authentication where users are authenticated and registered by a local authentication center instead of the core network. While the second maintains the authentication role of the LTE core and gives some privileges to the local authentication center to complement the process. 12 A VLC-BASED IN FLIGHT CONNECTIVITY ARCHITECTURE TO ENABLE ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES IN FUTURE AIRCRAFT Dhouha KRICHENE, Maha SLITI, Walid ABDALLAH et Noureddine BOUDRIGA Communication Network and Security Research Lab(CN&S), Sup’Com This paper proposes an aeronautical network architecture based on visible light communication (VLC) technology which targets the distribution of in-flight entertainment services. To this purpose, we investigate the deployment of LEDs within an aircraft cabin using two different wavelength assignment methods in the VLC cells. The first method combines both WDM and Direct sequence OCDMA techniques to reduce intra-cell and intercell interferences. In the second one, a two-dimensional OCDMA scheme is used to enable efficient sharing of resources between users. Finally, a simulation work is conducted to evaluate the bit error rate of the proposed access control schemes for different configurations of the VLC system. Session Orale 2 Chairman: Slim BEN SAOUD HARDWARE/SOFTWARE PARTITIONING APPROACHES Imene MHADHBI, Slim BEN OTHMAN and Slim BEN SAOUD National Institute of Applied Science and Technology, Advanced Systems Laboratory, INSAT [email protected] Hardware/Software partitioning is a crucial problem in the heterogeneous embedded system co-design. It consists of deciding which processes of the embedded application should be executed on general purpose processor (software architecture) and which ones can be implemented on a specific hardware architecture, taking into account a set of embedded systems constraints. Software architecture is more flexible and inexpensive. It is chosen to reduce the cost of the design. However, hardware architecture is selected to increase the embedded system performance (execution time, area, energy, etc.) and speedup design. Several significant research work on hardware/software partitioning problem exist. In this paper, we will presents the hardware/software partitioning process. HETEROGENEOUS AVIONICS NETWORK ARCHITECTURE Nejla REJEB, Ahmed Karim BEN SALEM, Slim BEN SAOUD LSA Laboratory, INSAT-EPT, University of Carthage, TUNISIA [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] Embedded avionics systems have recently emerged some limitations to respond to the rapid increase in the functionality requirements of new generation aircraft. In order to cope with these limitations, new avionics architectures have been designed to improve the efficiency in the whole avionic system. The current communication architecture of new generation aircrafts is a heterogeneous architecture based on the high rate backbone 13 network AFDX (Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet), interconnected to low rate data peripheral buses. This paper aims to analyze a mixed AFDX/CAN architecture. STATE ESTIMATION OF UNKNOWN INPUT POLYNOMIAL SYSTEMS: A SUM OF SQUARES APPROACH Ali Chibani1, Mohammed Chadli2 and Naceur Benhadj Braiek1 1 Advanced System Laboratory, Polytechnic School of Tunisia 2 University of Picardie Jules Verne, MIS (E.A 4290), Laboratoire de Modélisation, Information et systèmes 33 rue Saint-Leu, 80039 Amiens France [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] In this work, we address the problem of state estimating for nonlinear polynomial systems subject to unknown inputs. The proposed observer is developed to guarantee the asymptotic convergence of the estimation error using the Lyapunov method and sufficient design conditions are given in Sum Of Squares (SOS) formulation. ON MODELING AND CONTROL OF NONLINEAR DISCRETE-TIME SYSTEMS Wafa Belhedi and Hajer Bouzaouache Advanced Systems Laboratory, Tunisia polytechnic school [email protected] [email protected] In this work, we propose a new approach for model order reduction of polynomial discrete time nonlinear control systems. Based on the derived model a nonlinear optimal control law is constructed. A numerical example is considered to illustrate the validity of the proposed results. A DECENTRALIZED GUARANTEED COST CONTROL APPROACH OF INTERCONNECTED POWER SYSTEMS Hosni RTIBI, Salwa ELLOUMI and Naceur BENHADJ BRAIEK Advanced Systems Laboratory (L.S.A), Polytechnic School of Tunisia [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] In this paper, we investigate the problem of the decentralized robust guaranteed cost control (GCC) for robust stabilization of uncertain linear interconnected multimachine power systems. Sufficient conditions for the existence of guaranteed cost controllers and formulation in a minimization problem are given in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) which resolution yields the decentralized control gain matrices, to ensure the asymptotic stability of the linear uncertain large scale system. THE NONLINEAR EFFECT IN DISTRIBUTED OPTICAL SENSOR: RAMAN AND BRILLOUIN PROCESS Amira ZRELLI, Mohamed BOUYAHI and Tahar EZZEDINE SYSCOM Laboratory –NATIONAL ENGINEERING SCHOOL OF TUNIS [email protected], [email protected] Optical fiber is an indispensable part of optic measurement sensor systems. Divers interactions between lights and fiber’ materials occur such as keer effect, linear and nonlinear process like Rayleigh, Raman and Brilllouin scattering. This paper treats the theory of distributed optical fiber sensing .We present a theoretical and simulation measurement of intensity in both Raman and Brillouin process. We highlight the difference between ROTDR (Raman Optical Time Division Refectomertry) and BOTDR (Brillouin Optical Time Division Refectomertry). NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF ORBITAL ANGULAR MOMENTUM BASED NEXT GENERATION OPTICAL SDM COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM Besma HAMMAMI1, Habib FATHALLAH 2, 3 and Houria REZIG1 Laboratoire Syscom, National School of Engineer Tunis, University de Manar, Tunis, Tunisia. 2 KACST-TIC in Radio Frequency and Photonics for the e-Society, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia 3 Electrical Engineering Department, KSU, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 1 ([email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]) In this paper, we make a theoretical and numerical analysis of a transmission chain based on an Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) technique in the case of ideal channel. In order to generate an OAM beam, we define a theoretical OAM encoder (vortex generator) similar to the Spiral Phase Pattern (SPP) in practice, converts a flat Gaussian phase front into a helix. We then multiplex several OAM channels, all modulated with QPSK streams of data and then decode specific modes and measure the overall performance. 16 PERFORMANCE PREDICTION OF COUPLED CARBON NANOTUBE DIPOLE ANTENNAS USING THE INTEGRAL METHOD Aidi M, Aguili T Laboratoire de systèmes de communications, Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tunis mourad.aidi @ enit.rnu.tn Fundamental properties of carbon nanotube antenna are firstly investigated to predict the antenna bundle response. The carbon nanotube effects are mathematically introduced via a quantum mechanical conductivity. This paper presents a new formulation based on integral equations system to study the coupled carbon nanotube antennas. Session Orale 4 Chairman: Pr Moez CHAFRA RELIABILITY BASED APPROACH FOR EVALUATING SHALLOW FOUNDATION STABILITY ON SPATIALLY VARIABLE SOIL UNDER COMBINED LOADING Amal Hentati1, Nizar Bel Hadj Ali1, Mbarka Selmi2 and tarek Kormi1 1 Systems and Applied Mechanics Laboratory (LASMAP), Polytechnic school of Tunisia 2 Civil Engineering Laboratory (L.G.C.) National Engineering School of Tunis, Tunisia ([email protected]) The seabed of the Gulf of Guinea and the Gulf of Mexico, composed essentially of very soft clay on large depths, have special geotechnical characteristics. Indeed, they are characterized by a low shear strength surface which increases linearly with the depth. This natural variability of the mechanical properties of these soils can lead to differential settlements with damaging consequences. The need of geotechnical engineers to a more objective and rigorous description of soil variations permitting to quantify these uncertainties and to incorporate 17 them into calculation methods, led to the development of reliability approaches including statistics and probability. In this context, the objective of this project is to provide guidance to a reliable design of mudmats that are solicited to a combined loading composed of a vertical force V, a horizontal force H and a moment M. SEMI-ACTIVE VIBRATION CONTROL OF GUYED MASTS Maher CHAKHARI1, Mohamed Hechmi ELOUNI1, Nizar BELHADJ ALI1 and Nabil BEN KAHLA2 1 Applied Mechanics and Systems Research Laboratory, Tunisia Polytechnic School 2 Civil Engineering Department, King Khaled University of Abha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia [email protected] This paper investigates the semi-active control of cables structures in order to reduce the cost of energy needed for active control vibration under seismic excitation. This strategy is applied on a tall guyed mast using magneto-rheological (MR) dampers located at the lower end of cables. The phenomenological spencer’s model is employed to simulate the nonlinear hysteresis behavior of the MR damper. The responses with and without control are studied under seismic excitations. The results of the proposed control strategy will be compared to those obtained by active control. MULTI-PHYSICAL REDUCED ORDER MODELING OF MEMS AND NEMS Sarah BEN SASSI, Fehmi NAJAR Applied Mechanics and Systems Research Laboratory Tunisia Polytechnic School, [email protected] In this paper we present a novel accurate semi-analytical approach to solve nonlinear integropartial-differential equation related to MEMS and NEMS based actuators. Dynamic responseis studied and compared with classical approaches in the literature. The proposed approach is based on a Reduced Order Model (ROM) of micro beams under the action of nonlinear electrostatic force. Using Euler-Bernoulli beam theory we derive the nonlinear equation that governs the motion of the micro beam accounting for relatively large deflections. The formulated model takes into account third order nonlinearities, mid plane stretching effects and nonlinear electrostatic force. We utilize two accurate Reduced Order Models based on Differential Quadratic Method (DQM) decomposition on one side, and a Galerkin decomposition on the other side to discretize the partial derivative with respect to space variable. Besides, we employ a Finite Difference Method (FDM) to discretize time derivative and obtain limit cycle solutions representing the orbits of motion. Moreover, the stability of captured orbits is analyzed using Floquet Theory. We show that using only one mode in Galerkin decomposition leads to the desired solution to converge. The new approach based on the combination between DQM, Galerkin and FDM provides accurate and precise results comparing with those provided in literature. When h tends to zero, the result tends to a Marchaud’s derivative of the order of α of the function to which the convolution is applied. Hence, Grunwald-Letnikov’s formulas compute approximations to fractional derivatives inverting those fractional integrals of the order of α which commute with translations. The weights w α k of such discrete convolutions form well defined sequences, proportional to k−α−1 near infinity, and all moments of integer order r < α are equal to zero, provided α is not an integer. We present a continuous variant of Grunwald-Letnikov’s formulas, with integrals instead of series. It involves a convolution kernel which mimics the above mentioned features of Grunwald-Letnikov’s weights. A first application consists in computing the flux of particles spreading according to a random walk, consisting of successive jumps, independent of each other but possibly depending on the location of the point they start from, as when boundary conditions are applied, e.g. An important physical issue is the space fractional variant of Fick’s law for enhanced diffusion in disordered media. RECONFIGURABLE SMART ROBOTS FOR ADAPTIVE ASSISTED DRIVING OF VEHICLES 1 Emna Guerfala1, Mohamed KHALGUI1, Anis Koubaa2 Laboratoire Informatique pour les Systèmes Industriels, LISI Lab, INSAT, University of Carthage, 2 Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia/CISTER Research Unit, Portugal This thesis focuses on vehicle platooning where a lead vehicle with a professional driver will take responsibility for a platoon (platoon: vehicles are placed one behind the other and behaving like a virtual train). Following vehicles will enter an autonomous control mode that allows the driver of the following vehicle to do other things that would normally be prohibited for reasons of safety (e.g. reading a book, sleeping…). The main issue is the control performance. Each vehicle should automatically keep the same inter-vehicle distance (longitudinal control) as well as the same trajectory travelled by the lead vehicle (lateral control) depending on the environment information. Another issue is the platoon stability that may be disturbed by many factors (fog, rain, driving at night, a sudden vehicle malfunction) therefore the adopted system must be reliable and safe. 22 PROBABILISTIC DAG TASK SCHEDULING ON MULTIPROCESSOR RECONFIGURABLE EMBEDDED SYSTEM WITH ENERGY CONSTRAINTS Wiem Housseyni1, Mohamed Khalgui1, Maryline Chetto2 and Olfa Mosbahi1 National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, Institute-University of Carthago, Tunisia 2 University of Nantes IRCCyN UMR CNRS 6597 44321 Nantes, France 1 ([email protected]) Due to the current trends for higher performance there is nowadays a strong push towards reconfigurable systems which combine software flexibility with high performance of hardware. Although a lot of work has been done to manage dynamic reconfiguration on monoprocessor real time systems, less work has been done on their multiprocessor counterparts. In this paper, we address the problem of scheduling hard real time tasks on a multiprocessor embedded system with energy constraints which can be dynamically reconfigurable. In such reconfiguration scenario, constraints can be violated. First, we propose a new task model where a Probabilistic Directed Acyclic Graph (DAGP) is attached to each task. Then, we propose three possible solutions for runtime reconfiguration based on the internal architecture of the so-called DAGP tasks. Our work is supported by simulation results. They bring to light the effectiveness of these solutions measured in terms of deadline miss ratio. STABILITY DOMAIN ESTIMATION TECHNIQUES FOR NONLINEAR DISCRETE-TIME SYSTEMS Bedoui. S, Bacha. PATHS GENERATION AND CONTROL OF HUMANOID ROBOTS Naceur Chafroud1, Nahla Khraief 2 and Naceur Benhadj Braiek1 1 Advanced System Laboratory-LSA, Polytechnic School of Tunisia, University of Carthage. 2 National Engineering School of Tunis, University of El Manar. (naceurchafroud, khraiefnahla and [email protected]) The research presented in this paper discusses the development of a humanoid biped robot from the planning stage to biped walking focusing on low level control. A novel Strategy of walking pattern generation and control of humanoid robots provided by a new technique that we named "the Liquid Level Model (LLM)" is discussed. Therefore, based on "LLM" the dynamics of a biped robot is modeled as a running liquid level on a tank which gives a convenient representation to treat ZMP (Zero-Moment-Point) and CoM (Center of Mass). In fact, a biped walking pattern generator is investigated. It is based on a combination between a simplified model, a preview control, and a fuzzy logic control. Simulation results and a 3D 23 simulation show that the proposed technology and all strategy and theory of control used guarantee not only robust stability but also a great performance. MODELING AND NONLINEAR CONTROL OF A MAGNETIC LEVITATION SYSTEM Marwa Rezgui, Hela Belkhiria Aayadi and Naceur Benhadj Braiek Laboratoire des systèmes Avancées (LSA), Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie, ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected]) This work deals with the local stabilization of a magnetic levitation system. The system in view is highly nonlinear, inherently unstable and contains significant uncertainty of the coil characteristics caused by the temperature variation. In this paper we propose a nonlinear polynomial model for the magnetic levitation system. This model is then used to design a nonlinear local stabilizing control law which maximizes the stability domain. AN EXAMPLE OF NONLINEAR DYNAMIC INVERSION Sabrine JEBRI and Khaled NOURI Advanced System Laboratory-LSA, Polytechnic School of Tunisia, University of Carthage. [email protected] Dynamic inversion or feedback linearization is a popular control design method well suited for minimum-phase nonlinear systems. It addresses the problem of controller design to transform a nonlinear system to a linear one by feedback. To overcome some limitations imposed by the requirements of exact linearization, approximate linearization has emerged as a viable alternative, where the problem is relaxed to enlarge the class of admissible controllers. In this paper; we present a dynamic inversion methodology for a nonlinear system example. A NOVEL MULTI SCALE APPROACH BASED ON ANEW RULE OFACTIVE MODES SELECTION FOR THE ACCURACY OF MODAL INTEGRAL OPERATORS Mohamed Hajji and Taoufik Aguili Laboratoire Sys’Com, ENIT, Université Tunis El Manar ([email protected]) In this paper, we present a new Multi Scale (MS) approach based on integral modal operators Γ̂ and Ẑs. This approach introduces a new criterion for identifying active modes because their suitable choice contributes in the MS accuracy. This allows the improvement of numerical results precision and so a considerable reduction in calculation errors compared to other methods. The Multi Scale combined to the Generalized Equivalent Circuit (MS-GEC) consists on dividing a complex structure into several scale levels enclosed by appropriate boundary conditions and each level is studied alone. Each scale is excited by N active modes that constitute modal sources to determinate its input impedance matrix that is converted thereafter into surface impedance operator. While the choice of active modes seems very interesting, this approach provides their exact identification compared to previous criteria of their choice based mainly on cut off frequency. As numerical results, we show the interst of the new criterion compared to previous one. CRAMER-RAO LOWER BOUND FOR NDA CARRIER SYNCHRONIZATION OVER FLAT RAYLEIGH FADING CHANNEL 1 Monia Salem1, Slaheddine Jarboui2 and Ammar Bouallègue1 Laboratory of Communication Systems, National School of Engineers of Tunis, Tunisia 2 College of Computer Science, King Khalid University, Abha, Saudi Arabia ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected]) In this paper, reliable analytical method to derive true Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) for non-data-aided (NDA) joint carrier phase and carrier frequency offset estimation is introduced. We consider a transmission over a flat Rayleigh fading channel (FRFC) with nonconstant fading gain during the observation window. Analytical expressions of Fisher information matrix (FIM) entries are derived from general linear modulated signals over FRFC corrupted with complex additive white Gaussian noise (CAWGN). The noise power 31 and the signal amplitude are assumed completely unknown. Simulation results for joint carrier phase and carrier frequency offset estimation are drawn for different square QAM orders and are compared to the bounds derived for independent phase and frequency estimations. Both the mechanical equilibrium solution and the mono-cellular flow obtained for particular ranges of the physical parameters of the problem are considered. The porous cavity, bounded by horizontal infinite or finite boundaries, the two horizontal plates is submitted to constant uniform heat flux while no mass flux is imposed. We study the influence of vertical high-frequency and small-amplitude vibrations on the separation of a binary mixture saturating a shallow horizontal porous layer. STABILIZING CONTROL DESIGN FOR A TRANSFORMED 2 X2 FIRST-ORDER PDES I ROTARY DRILLING SYSTEMS Samir Toumi LIM, Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie In this work, we study the stabilizing problem of a second-order hyperbolic linear PDE which describes the torsional dynamics in oil well drilling system. The dynamics are transformed into 2X2 first-order PDEs. The boundary stabilizing control law is constructed such that the transformed system tracks a designed stable target system. The back stepping techniques combined with kernel equations and the Lyapunov theory are used to prove the exponential stability of the new system variables, consequently, the vibration suppression due to the torsional dynamics. 33 Jeudi 23 Avril Session plénière 3: Noureddine BOUDRIGUA Chairman: Pr Mahel MOSBEH « MATHEMATICAL CHALLENGES IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH» Professor Noureddine Boudriga is an internationally known scientist/academic. Abstract: The need for mathematical models and control on any telecommunication network is obvious. However, the unprecedented changes experienced by the telecommunication industry made the traditional mathematical tools/techniques inefficient. To mention a few, one can say that the large scale networks, big data processing, and cloud computing have highlighted the need to build new theories to control the quality of representation and decision for these new areas. This talk discusses the role of mathematics to address the problems facing the development of new concepts and services in networking and security. Specific challenges in large scale, high speed, and large data volume networks will be highlighted to point out the new needs. In particular, this talk attempts to point out the limitations of the current mathematical solutions, present some of the ongoing research activities to provide acceptable models, and discuss some of the open problems and challenges in network mathematical control. ONLINE OPTIMIZATION OF THE PERFORMANCE OF A POWER TRAIN SYSTEM FOR A PARALLEL HYBRID VEHICLE Mourad Ali Salah et Naceur Benhadj Braiek Advanced Systems Laboratory, Tunisia Polytechnic School ([email protected] et [email protected]) In this work, a technique of instantaneous optimization of the overall energy efficiency of hybrid vehicles involving a combustion engine and an electrical machine/battery system is proposed. This technique provides a strategy of the energy management between the combustion engine and the electrical machine which operates in both modes as a generator producing electrical energy which is stored in the battery or as an electrical motor powered by 35 the battery. An instantaneous criterion is formulated for each mode charge/ discharge of the battery, and an on line algorithm is then proposed to optimize such criterion. The simulation results show the high improvement of the overall energy efficiency provided by the proposed technique relatively to that of a classical combustion engine. BROS: A NEW ROBOTIC PLATFORM FOR THE TREATMENT OF SUPRACONDYLAR HUMERUS FRACTURE Mohamed Oussama Ben Salem1, 2, Olfa Mosbahi2, Mohamed Khalgui2 and Georg Frey3 1 Tunisia Polytechnic School, University of Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia 2 LISI Laboratory, INSAT, University of Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia 3 Chair of Automation and Energy Systems, Saarland University, Saarbr¨ucken, Germany [email protected], {olfamosbahi, khalgui.mohamed}@gmail.com, [email protected] The supra condylar humerus fracture is one of the most common and challenging injury faced by pediatric orthopedic surgeons. Its treatment may lead to many neurological and vascular complications. This is mainly due to the “blind” pinning performed by surgeons to fix the fractured elbow’s fragments. Furthermore, the medical staff is usually exposed to a high level of radiations during the surgery because of the fluoroscopically assisted treatment. Thus, a new robotized platform baptized BROS is developed in Tunisia to remedy this issue and allow performing a safer surgery. BROS is reconfigurable and may run under several operating modes, meeting, thus, the surgeon’s requirements and the environment constraints. SPECTRUM SENSING IN CORRELATED MASSIVE MIMO UNDER IMPERFECT CSI Imen Souid, Haithem Ben Chikha and Rabah Attia SERCOM Lab., Tunisia Polytechnic School, Tunisia [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are potential for improving the transmission rates and providing efficient capacity. Additionally, cognitive radio (CR) technology has shown high efficiency in dealing with spectrum scarcity issues. In order to fulfill the increasing demands for data rates and radio spectrum, cognitive massive MIMO networks are considered as the essential technologies that will define the fifth generation (5G). This paper investigates the detection performance of cognitive massive MIMO networks. As in practical circumstances, MIMO channels are considered to be spatially correlated and the receiver is assumed to have imperfect channel state information (ICSI). 39 MODULATION RECOGNITION FOR MIMO RELAYING BROADCAST CHANNELS WITH DIRECT LINK Wassim Ben Chikha and Rabah Attia SERCOM laboratory, Tunisia Polytechnic School [email protected] and rabah [email protected] Modulation identification has attracted considerable interest in military for many applications such as; communication intelligence (COMINT), electronic support measures (ESM) and spectrum surveillance. Also recent and rapid developments in software defined radio (SDR) in the context of cognitive radio (CR) have given modulation identification more prominence in civil applications. In this paper, we investigate the performance of modulation identification based on pattern recognition approach using the decision tree (J48) classifier, for multipleinput multiple-output (MIMO) relaying broadcast channels with direct link (source-todestination). Based on receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, our study shows that J48 classifier is more efficient than the multilayer perceptron (MLP) classifier trained with resilient backpropagation training algorithm (RPROP) where it achieves close to perfect detection rate (over 99%) with reasonable training time in acceptable signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) range. We also show that the performance of the MIMO relaying broadcast network is remarkably better than the traditional MIMO one. OF THE SYNCHRONIZATION IN MIMO-OFDM APPLIED TO WIMAX Mejdi BENZARTI SYS’COM, National Engineering school of TUNISIA [email protected] In all wireless communication systems and especially in OFDM and MIMO-OFDM system synchronization is crucial. The receivers do not know the beginning and the end of the OFDM symbols, so the placement of the FFT window. Moreover, they have their own sampling frequency asynchronous with that of the transmitter. These two points show two synchronization concepts: time and frequency. An error of time synchronization in the reception may cause loss of the orthogonality of subcarriers. This is why it is important to have a robust synchronization algorithm and know its effect on system performance. Several estimation techniques for time and frequency offset have been proposed in the literature, but varied test conditions make comparison difficult. In this paper, we show the effect caused by carrier frequency offset (CFO) and symbol timing offset (STO) on the performance of an OFDM system in a WiMAX context. MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR THE CONTROL OF SENSORS DEPLOYMENT UNDER IRREGULAR CONDITIONS Imen ARFAOUI1, Noureddine BOUDRIGA1 and Khalifa TRIMCHE2 1 CN&S Research Lab, SUPCOM, University of Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia 2 Faculty of Science of Tunis, Tunis, Tunisia {arf.imen, noure.boudriga2} @gmail.com, [email protected] In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), a good deployment strategy is important for the network efficiency to ensure optimal connectivity and coverage. Traditional techniques based on both static and dynamic sensor nodes placement are often subject to many drawbacks related to the 44 high cost it generates, the high energy consumption and the simplified theoretical conditions considered; and hence are not suitable for real-world WSNs based constrained applications. In this work, we propose a deployment strategy while dropping sensors from a quadcopter to monitor two-dimensional areas taking into account the irregular conditions occurred; namely, atmospheric, geographic and technical conditions. For this purpose, we provide a mathematical model to control the sensors deployment in order to control the monitoring continuity and avoid radio holes by controlling a set of parameters including, but not limited to, the dropping times, the sensors landing positions, the wind forces, the dropping altitude and the velocity of the quadcopter. A component is composed of a set of algorithms encoding the control after any reception of external events and data signals. The termination of execution is generally done with the emission of data and event signals to remote components. According to various evolutions in environment, the system is required to be dynamically reconfigured at run-time to adapt its control functions. We are interested in local reconfigurations of components dealing with the activation-deactivation-update of algorithms and/or data-event inputs. FEASIBLE REAL-TIME SCHEDULING UNDER MEMORY AND ENERGY CONSTRAINTS Aymen GAMMOUDI 1, 2, Adel BEN ZINA1, 2, Mohamed KHALGUI1 and et Daniel CHILLET3 1 LISI Laboratory, INSAT, University Of Carthage, Tunisia 2 Tunisia Polytechnic School, University Of Carthage, Tunisia 3 IRISA Laboratory, ENSSAT, University Of Rennes1, France {aymen.gammoudi1, benzina.adel, khalgui.mohamed}@gmail.com; [email protected] This work deals with low power dynamic reconfigurations of real-time embedded systems. A reconfiguration scenario means the addition, removal or update of tasks in order to save the whole system at the occurrence of hardware/software faults, or also to improve its performance at run-time. When such a scenario is applied, the energy consumption can be increased, memory space can be saturated or some real-time constraints can be violated. A new strategy is defined where after each reconfiguration scenario, modifications will be performed on tasks parameter in order to respect the memory, real-time and energy constraints. According to system and battery state, this strategy proposes must modify periods, reduce execution times of tasks or remove some of them. 45 Session Orale 10 Chairman: Pr. Yomna REBAI THE EXPECTED TOTAL OPTIMAL MAINTENANCE COST UNDER DISCRETE MODIFIED WEIBULL DISTRIBUTION Nizar Mannai1 and Soufiane Gasmi 2 1 Polytechnic School of Tunisia, University of Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia 2 Tunis National Higher School of Engineering, University of Tunis, BP 56, 1008 Bab Menara, Tunisia [email protected]; [email protected] We consider optimal replacement policies with periodic imperfect maintenance actions and minimal repairs. The multistate system is minimally repaired at failure and imperfect maintenance actions are regularly carried out for preventive maintenance. The discrete modified Weibull distribution is introduced and some cost functions applied to this distribution are defined in order to be minimized. Moreover, we assume that the costs of preventive maintenance depend on the degree of repair via a Kijima type 2 models. For illustrative purpose, the obtained results are applied on sets of simulated data. ON THE FINITE-TIME STABILIZATION OF STRINGS CONNECTED BY POINT MASS Ghada BEN BELGACEM and Chaker JAMMAZI LIM, Ecole polytechnique de Tunisie Faculté de Sciences de Bizerte ([email protected]) In this work, the problem of finite-time boundary stabilization of two strings connected by point mass is investigated. Based on the so-called Riemann invariant transformation, the vibrating strings are transformed in two hybrid-hyperbolic systems, and leads to the posedness of our system. In order to act in the system, it is desirable to choose boundary feedbacks, in this case, Hölderien stabilizing feedback laws to vanish in finite-time the right and the left of the solutions are considered. NOVEL VOLTAGE DRIVEN ELECTRO-THERMO-MECHANICAL MEMS SELFOSCILLATOR S. Ouenzerfi 1, 2, 3 and S. El-Borgi 3 KACST-Intel Consortium Center of Excellence in Nano-manufacturing Applications (CENA), Riyadh, KSA 2 IMEC, Leuven, Belgium 3 Applied Mechanics and Systems Research Laboratory, Tunisia Polytechnic School 1 ([email protected]) This paper presents the modeling, simulation and an experimentation proof of electro-thermomechanical self-oscillators, a novel type of M/NEMS-enabled timing devices. We extend the results from previously reported self-oscillators pumped with direct current [1,2] to demonstrate the possible self-oscillation in case of the more attractive and practical direct voltage pumping for devices with a positive piezoresistive coefficient. 47 48 Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie ; B.P.743, 2078 La Marsa Tunisie –Tel 71 744 611-Fax : 71 748 843
