Most Eider fabrics are OEKO-TEX® approved.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 1000 is a testing, auditing
and certification system for environmentally friendly
operations in the textile and clothing industry.
On the basis of criteria that are updated annually,
the standard allows an objective assessment of the
environmental balance and social acceptability achieved
at all of a company’s production facilities. The aim being
the continual improvement of environmental performance
and working conditions.

L’OEKO-TEX® Standard 1000 est un système de contrôle,

Because of our genuine commitment to preserve
nature, and especially regarding our care for the eider
duck, we chose the Responsible Down Standard to
certify most of our down insulations.
Created by Textile Exchange, a global non-profit organization
that works closely with all sectors of the textile supply chain,
the R.D.S. standard guarantees the welfare of birds, along
with a perfect traceability on the global supply chain. It also
prohibits live-plucking (or molt-harvesting) and force-feeding.
Only products with 100% certified down and feathers carry
the RDS logo.
Eider favors the use of materials
awarded the Bluesign® label.
Bluesign® is an independent label based on a standard
underpinned by five principles: 1/ Resource productivity.
2/ Consumer safety. 3/ Air emissions. 4/ Water emissions.
5/ Workplace health and safety.Organizations awarded the
Bluesign® label display total transparency right along their
textile supply chain without compromising functionality, quality
or design. For Eider, this label guarantees that their partner is
responsible and committed.
Since in Fall-Winter 2014, Eider decided to switch all
water-repellent fabrics from C8 to C6 finishes in order
minimize the impact of perfluorinated toxins.
Durable water repellent (DWR) finishes improve resistance to
the elements and dirt. They keep you dry, warm and clean
for a long time. We are now undertaking a more eco-friendly
process to select this DWR treatment, while maintaining the
expected level of quality.

En plus de notre engagement en faveur de la nature,
et plus particulièrement des canards eider, nous avons
choisi le standard R.D.S. pour une grande partie de
nos isolations en plume.
R.D.S est un standard crée par Textile Exchange, une
association à but non lucratif, intervenant tout au long de la
chaine textile. Ce standard garantis le bien-être des canards
ainsi qu’une parfaite traçabilité tout au long de la chaine de
production, et assure que les animaux ne sont ni plumés à vif,
ni gavés. Le logo R.D.S n’est appliqué qu’aux produits
contenant de la plume 100% certifiée.
Eider privilégie des matières
reconnues par le label Bluesign®.
Bluesign® est un label indépendant fondé sur une norme
structurée autour de cinq domaines : 1/ Productivité des
ressources. 2/ Sécurité du consommateur. 3/ Emissions
atmosphériques. 4/ Pollution des eaux. 5/ Hygiène et
sécurité professionnelles. Les entreprises labellisées Bluesign®
affichent une transparence totale, tout au long de leur filière de
production, sans compromis sur la fonctionnalité, la qualité ou
le design. Ce label, c’est la garantie pour Eider d’un partenaire
responsable et engagé.
Depuis l’Automne-Hiver 2014, Eider a pris la décision de
basculer tous ses tissus déperlants sur des finitions C6
au lieu de C8, afin de réduire au maximum l’impact des
toxines perfluorées.
Les traitements déperlants (durable water repellent, DWR)
assurent une résistance renforcée aux éléments et aux
salissures. Ils permettent de vous tenir durablement au sec
et au chaud. Nous engageons un procédé plus écologique
pour la sélection de ce traitement, tout en maintenant le
niveau de qualité attendu.
