Aims and Functions:
The Scientific Committee for the Initiative Networking European Labour Market
Observatories was founded in October 2010. The aims and functions of the Scientific
Committee are to build the theoretical, scientific and political framework for the Initiative
Networking European Labour Market Observatories. It should also build the conceptual base
for the Initiative and induct ideas and impulses. Another important purpose of the Scientific
Committee is to represent the initiative towards other organisations and politics, especially at
the European and international level. The Scientific Committee is going to meet once every
year obliged to the conference of the initiative. It is an instrument to initiate ideas and
projects, to represent the network and the initiative and give them a scientific aim but
practical base. Thus the Scientific Committee is the scientific guarantee and initiates ideas to
the initiative.
The secretary of the Scientific Committee is temporarily located to the Coordinator of the
European Network on Regional Labour Market Monitoring. The secretary is responsible for
the organisation of the Scientific Committee and the Initiative Networking European Labour
Market Observatories (Contact: Ruth Hasberg, [email protected])
