LATEST DECISIONS OF THE WORLD MOTOR
SPORT COUNCIL OF THE FIA REGARDING
KARTING
During its meeting on 22 March 2006 in Paris, the World Motor Sport
Council of the FIA took the following decisions regarding Karting:
For the 2006 CIK-FIA European ICA and Junior Championships, 72
Drivers maximum will be eligible to participate in the Finals, respectively
scheduled for Ampfing/D (17-20 August) and Mariembourg/B (31 August3 September). Prior to these Finals, three regional qualifying events will
be organised (in Thy-Hanstholm/DK, Sarno/I and Braga/P on 13-16 July).
Unlike previous years, the number of qualified Drivers per region will not
be set at 24 but will be calculated in proportion to the number of entries
per region.

Sporting Regulations
The list of Drivers eligible to enter the new CIK-FIA World Cup for ICA,
which is part of the programme of the CIK-FIA Karting World Championship
scheduled for Angerville/F (28 September-1 October), has been extended
to Drivers classified in the top 34 of the 2005 European ICA and
Panamerican Sudam Championships, and to Drivers who have scored at
least one point in the 2005 European ICC Championship. These eligible
Drivers are to be added to those who will be classified in the top 34 of the
2006 European ICA, 2005 and 2006 Asia-Pacific ICA and 2006 Panamerican
Sudam Championships, in the top 15 of the 2006 ICA Viking Trophy, in the
top 5 of the 2006 European ICA Championship regional qualifying events or
in the top 3 of a national or zone ICA Championship.
Technical Regulations
The World Council has approved the precisions regarding the technical and
homologation regulations governing the future 125cc “long life” engines,
the introduction of which is scheduled for 2007. It is decided in particular
that only steel casting cylinder liners are allowed, that the minimum
external diameter of the clutch is reduced from 100 to 80 mm and that the
minimum weight of the clutch is reduced from 1,000 to 800 grams. It is
also ruled that Junior engine revs are limited to 14,000 rpm, and all Junior

engines, of any make, shall be fitted with a single type exhaust defined by
the CIK-FIA.
In order to be homologated, engines must be produced at 150 examples
minimum, ignition systems at 100 examples minimum and carburettors at
150 or 50 examples minimum according to the category in which they are
used.
Tenders
The Total fuel, the type of which will be SK35, will be supplied at the price
of 4.50 € (inclusive of tax) per litre on the location of each of the three
CIK-FIA European Superkart Championship rounds (Hockenheim/D on 2122 April, Most/CZ on 9-11 June and Assen/NL on 11-13 August).
International Karting Series approved by the FIA
The World Council has approved the following international Karting series:
European Superracekart Series (8 events) and Kart-GP (1 event).

Within the framework of the invitation to tender issued by the FIA for the
supply of fuel in the 2006 CIK-FIA European Superkart Championship, the
World Council has decided to designate Total as exclusive supplier, with
whom a contract will be finalised in accordance with the tender procedure.

www.cikfia.com and in the periodical Bulletin of the CIK.

DERNIÈRES DÉCISIONS DU CONSEIL
MONDIAL DU SPORT AUTOMOBILE DE LA
FIA CONCERNANT LE KARTING
À l’occasion de sa réunion du 22 mars 2006 à Paris, le Conseil Mondial du
Sport Automobile de la FIA a pris les décisions suivantes en matière de
Karting :
Pour les Championnats d’Europe CIK-FIA 2006 d’ICA et des Juniors, 72
Pilotes maximum seront admis à participer aux Finales, respectivement
prévues à Ampfing/D (17-20 août) et Mariembourg/B (31 août-3
septembre). Préalablement à ces Finales seront organisées trois épreuves
qualificatives régionales (à Thy-Hanstholm/DK, Sarno/I et Braga/P,
les 13-16 juillet). À la différence des années précédentes, le nombre
de Pilotes qualifiés par région ne sera pas fixé à 24, mais sera calculé
proportionnellement au nombre d’inscriptions par région.

Règlement Sportif
La liste des Pilotes autorisés à s’engager dans la nouvelle Coupe du Monde
CIK-FIA d’ICA, inscrite au programme du Championnat du Monde de
Karting de la CIK-FIA prévu à Angerville/F (28 septembre-1er octobre), a
été élargie aux Pilotes classés parmi les 34 premiers des Championnats
d’Europe 2005 d’ICA et Panaméricain Sudam 2005 et aux Pilotes ayant
marqué au moins un point au Championnat d’Europe 2005 d’ICC. Ces
Pilotes admis s’ajoutent à ceux qui seront classés parmi les 34 premiers
des Championnats d’Europe 2006 d’ICA, d’Asie-Pacifique 2005 et 2006
d’ICA et Panaméricain Sudam 2006, parmi les 15 premiers du Viking
Trophy 2006 d’ICA, parmi les 5 premiers des épreuves qualificatives
régionales au Championnat d’Europe 2006 d’ICA ou parmi les 3 premiers
d’un Championnat national ou de zone d’ICA.
Règlement Technique
Le Conseil Mondial a approuvé les précisions apportées aux règlements
technique et d’homologation des futurs moteurs 125 cm³ “longue durée”,
dont l’introduction est programmée en 2007. Entre autres précisions, il
convient de noter que seules les chemises de cylindres en fonte d’acier
seront autorisées, que le diamètre extérieur minimum de l’embrayage est

passé de 100 à 80 mm et que le poids minimum de l’embrayage a été
baissé de 1 000 à 800 grammes. La limitation de régime du moteur prévu
pour la catégorie Junior a été arrêtée à 14 000 t/min et tous les moteurs
de Junior, de quelque marque qu’ils soient, devront être équipés d’un
échappement monotype défini par la CIK-FIA.
Appels d’offres

Pour être homologués, les moteurs devront être produits à 150
exemplaires minimum, les systèmes d’allumage à 100 exemplaires et les
carburateurs à 150 ou 50 exemplaires selon la catégorie à laquelle ils sont
destinés.
Dans le cadre de l’appel d’offres pratiqué par la FIA pour la fourniture du
carburant en Championnat d’Europe CIK-FIA 2006 de Superkart, le Conseil
Mondial a décidé de désigner Total comme fournisseur exclusif, avec lequel
un contrat sera finalisé conformément à la procédure d’appel d’offres.
Le carburant Total, de type SK35, sera fourni au prix de 4,50 € (TTC) le
litre sur le lieu de chacune des trois épreuves du Championnat d’Europe
CIK-FIA de Superkart (Hockenheim/D les 21-22 avril, Most/CZ les 9-11 juin
et Assen/NL les 11-13 août).
Séries internationales de Karting approuvées par la FIA
Le Conseil Mondial a approuvé les séries internationales de Karting
suivantes : European Superracekart Series (8 épreuves) et Kart-GP (1
épreuve).
