LATEST DECISIONS OF THE WORLD MOTOR
SPORT COUNCIL OF THE FIA REGARDING
KARTING
During its meeting on 29 June 2005 in Paris, the World Motor Sport Council
of the FIA took the following decisions regarding Karting:
2006 Calendar
The CIK-FIA Formula A World Cup, successfully organised from 1991
to 2000 in Japan, is reintroduced on the calendar and will take place in
Suzuka (J) from 26 to 29 May 2006.

The World Council has adopted the 2006 CIK-FIA Championships, Cups and
Trophies calendar below. The CIK-FIA World Karting Championship will be
held in Angerville (F) from 28 September to 1st October 2006.
The dates and events of the 2006 CIK-FIA European Superkart
Championship will be announced at a later date. It is also contemplated to
revive the CIK-FIA North American Karting Championship.
Sporting Regulations
The World Council has approved the creation of a special prize, the “Lotta
Hellberg Award”, which will be given every year to the Junior Driver who
has achieved the best progression in the traditional CIK-FIA Viking Trophy.
Technical Regulations
The World Council has specified that the tyres supplied within the
framework of the CIK-FIA Championships must be marked with bar codes
which must be applied to each sidewall at the vulcanisation stage.
The World Council has decided to allow the late homologation of narrow
hard rear tyres for tyre Manufacturers who already have a CIK-07
homologation of wide hard compound tyres.
An updating of Article 21 of the CIK-FIA Technical Regulations regarding
fuel has been voted and will be valid as from 1st January 2006.
The details of the changed rules and of the new regulations will soon be available on
www.cikfia.com and in the periodical Bulletin of the CIK-FIA.

DERNIÈRES DÉCISIONS DU CONSEIL
MONDIAL DU SPORT AUTOMOBILE DE LA
FIA CONCERNANT LE KARTING
A l’occasion de sa réunion du 29 juin 2005 à Paris, le Conseil Mondial du
Sport Automobile de la FIA a pris les décisions suivantes en matière de
Karting :
Le Conseil Mondial a adopté le calendrier des Championnats, Coupes et
Trophées 2006 de la CIK-FIA, lequel se trouve ci-après. Le Championnat
du Monde de Karting de la CIK-FIA se disputera à Angerville (F) du 28
septembre au 1er octobre 2006. La Coupe du Monde CIK-FIA de Formule
A, organisée avec succès de 1991 à 2000 au Japon, retrouve sa place au
calendrier et aura lieu à Suzuka (J) du 26 au 29 mai 2006. Les dates et
épreuves du Championnat d’Europe CIK-FIA 2006 de Superkart seront
annoncées ultérieurement. La relance du Championnat Nord-américain
CIK-FIA de Karting est également à l’étude.

Calendrier 2006
Le Conseil Mondial a approuvé l’instauration d’un prix spécial “Lotta
Hellberg Award” à remettre chaque année au Pilote Junior auteur de la plus
belle progression dans le traditionnel Viking Trophy de la CIK-FIA.
Règlement Technique
Le Conseil Mondial a précisé que les pneumatiques fournis dans le cadre
des Championnats de la CIK-FIA doivent être marqués par un code-barres
appliqué sur chacun de leurs flancs lors de la vulcanisation.
Le Conseil Mondial a décidé d’autoriser l’homologation retardée de
pneumatiques durs étroits arrière pour les Manufacturiers déjà titulaires
d’une homologation CIK-07 de pneumatiques à gomme dure en dimension
large.
Une remise à jour de l’Article 21 du Règlement Technique de la CIK, relatif
au carburant, a été votée et entrera en application dès le 1er janvier 2006.
