Lenny Kravitz est né en 1964 aux Etats Unis à
New York. Il est né d'un père blanc, Sy Kravitz, à
l'époque producteur de NBC Tv News, et d'une
mère noire, Rocker Roxie, actrice jouant Helen
Willis dans la série « The Jeffersons ».
Lenny, déterminé à devenir musicien, décide
d'apprendre divers instruments comme la guitare,
la basse, le piano et la batterie. Le jeune homme
réussit même à intégrer le Beverly Hills High
School music program en 1978.
En 1989 il sort son 1er album intitulé « Let love
rules », un mélange de Rock et de Soul.
En1991, il produit un album pour Vanessa
Paradis ainsi que son 2ème album intitulé
« Mama said »
En 1993, il enregistre l’album « Is there any love
in your heart » avec le célèbre titre « Are you
donna go my way ».
A ce jour il a écrit 12 albums et vendu 38 millions
d’album dans le monde.
La chanson « Black and white América » est
extraite d’un album du même nom sorti en 2011.
Sur cet album, il joue tous les instruments sauf
les cuivres. Il est multi-instrumentiste. Il sera
disque d’or.
Enfin, il excelle sur scène par ses concerts de
grande qualité. Il a d’ailleurs été récompensé par
les Grammy Awards de 1999 à 2003, soit 4
années de suite en tant que meilleure prestation
rock de l’année.
