L'appel qu'ont entendu les disciples, dans l’évangile de ce jour,
nous inspire profondément. Nous apprenons que Pierre,
André, Jacques et Jean ont immédiatement quitté leur emploi qu’ils ont tout abandonné - même leurs familles - pour suivre
Jésus. Ils venaient à peine de rencontrer cet homme! Hommes
ordinaires, ils ont été appelés à une mission extraordinaire. Y
a-t-il quelque chose que vous devez mettre de côté,
d’abandonner, pour être un meilleur disciple? L'intendance
nous demande de partager nos dons, sans hésiter, pour servir
Dieu, nous servir les uns les autres. Détendez-vous, fiez-vous
à Dieu – car nous aussi sommes appelés à être « pêcheurs
d'hommes » .

Qu’est ce que le Credo? What is the Creed?

Le mot latin credo, qui signifie « je crois », est le premier du Symbole de la foi (voir Symbole). Un Credo est un ensemble
structuré d’articles de foi, une sorte de condensé de la foi chrétienne. Le premier Credo chrétien a été prononcé par l’aveugle-né ;
à la question du Seigneur, après sa guérison : « Crois-tu au Fils de l’homme ? », il répondit : « Je crois, Seigneur ! » (Jn 9, 36-38).
De même, lors de l’illumination baptismale qui comportait originairement trois immersions dans la piscine, celui qui baptisait
demandait avant chacune des immersions : « Crois-tu en Dieu le Père tout-puissant ? Crois-tu en Jésus-Christ ? Crois-tu en
l’Esprit Saint ? » A chaque fois, le catéchumènerépondait : « Je crois ». Ce sont encore les questions que le célébrant pose lors
de la rénovation des promesses du baptême, au cours de la Vigile pascale.
Le Credo a donc une origine liturgique, baptismale ; il n’est que le développement des questions posées au baptême.
Signe de reconnaissance entre les chrétiens, pierre de touche pour l’unité de la foi, il devint le point d’aboutissement des
précisions dogmatiques, spécialement lors des conciles de Nicée (325) et de Constantino-ple (381). Si le Credo apporte la vie
divine au baptisé, en tant qu’il est le oui à l’œuvre de l’Esprit Saint, on comprend que sa reprise communautaire, au cœur de la
messe, amène un renouveau de vie spirituelle. Aussi l’Église demande-t-elle que les fidèlesproclament ou chantent le Credo aux
messes des dimanches et des Solennités. On peut utiliser l’antique Symbole des apôtres — celui qui commence le chapelet —,
ou, suivant l’usage le plus répandu, le Symbole de Nicée-Constantinople.

The word Latin credo, meaning "I believe" is the first symbol of the faith (see symbol). A creed is a structured set of
articles of faith, a kind of summary of the Christian faith. The first Christian creed was given by the man born blind, the question of
the Lord, after his recovery, "Dost thou believe on the Son of Man? "He replied," Lord, I believe! "(Jn 9, 36-38). Similarly, during
the baptismal illumination which originally included three dives in the pool, who baptized asked before each immersion: "Do you
believe in God the Father Almighty? Do you believe in Jesus Christ? Do you believe in the Holy Spirit? "Each time,
the catechumen replied: "I believe." These are questions that still celebrating poses during the renovation of baptismal promises
during the Vigil of Easter.
