It is better equipped to not only define goals but to achieve them!
What about the body? Does it benefit? When we feel confident and
calm and able, we are also taking our mind on this beautiful journey of strengthening its abilities, being better able to take care of
it and being able to avoid harmful issues and practices (smoking,
alcohol, obesity, non-compliance with medications, exercise etc.)
Feeling in control allows us to do just that: be in control!
WELLNESS: MIND, BODY AND SOUL. TRULY!

Take a look around you. There are people in your circle of friends,
relatives and co-workers who are especially pious. These are the
So how does it work? Prayer and living a «religious» life and nurturing
the soul? Well, the answer is simple, and complicated. But is that
not the life we live in? Praying makes us feel closer to our Creator. True praying that is! Uttering mere words repetitively without
living them is not prayer. With prayers, we feel the Creator’s presence, we have His attention, and we feel comforted by Him. If
you believe your earthly father is the strongest person in the world,
and he is always by your side, how does that make you feel? Strong
or weak? Vulnerable or indestructible? By developing a sense of
confidence and an aura of strength, one’s abilities immediately improve. These abilities referred to are his or her cognitive abilities,
his or her perception of obstacles changes with a more challenging
attitude. There is an increase in the ability to not only «believe»
one can take on more challenges, but that one can conquer them.
All of us would shy away from what we are afraid of and believe
to be an impossible task. But when that which we believe is unattainable and fearsome is no more present, then our limitations decrease and our potential increases: The power of confidence
through prayers and a strong soul. Prayers help improve both the
conscious and subconscious part of our mind. People who pray
and live a religious life feel less anxious (which is a feeling that
comes from both parts of the mind). They are more at ease and
more confident, again, thanks to both parts of the mind being affected. The mind is more restful, sharp, confident and affirmative.
The last part I wish to touch upon is love. I have often, many times
actually, talked about not love for each other but love of ourselves.
You have heard and seen and read me asking of you to love yourselves.
By loving yourselves, you become that much more powerful in
achieving your goals and seeking them. Guilt my friends, and feeling
unwelcomed in your own body are two very destructive forces that
eat away at our very core and weaken our foundation. We become
useless and incapacitated in many ways. We stop living and often
fail to reach our potential, which is limitless. In short, our spiritual
health will have a significant impact on our emotional health which
will have a major influence on our physical health. The inter-connection
between the spirit, the soul and the body is certainly a complex
connection; nevertheless, the connection is very real.
Many of us are affected by how we handle the stress that life brings
us. If chronic stress is left unchecked, over a period of time our
bodies will take a toll. A strong faith can help us to cope with the
stress that we experience in our life and enable the impact of that
stress to be less significant. Without a strong personal faith we must
resort to our own resources to cope with the stress present in our
life. Often we attempt to cope with this stress through addictions
and other methods of escape. This behavior can further exacerbate
the effect of stress on our physical health. A strong personal faith
can be a resource that helps to manage stress.

No matter your religious faith, all religions preach that when you
become closer with your Creator, you become more serene, stronger, happier, calmer, and better equipped to face this world and
the coming one. All the teachings state that in order for you to live by the laws and norms of your Creator, you need to study them,
practice them and follow them. Another key constituent is prayer.
Our soul is the one that benefits from being in touch with our
Creator. It is the one who all religious practices will ultimately
benefit when we pass to the next world. If our soul was a checking account, our currency would be good deeds, obedience and
prayer. It would be less of this world and more of the other world.
Hence, when we die, we die very rich in heavenly values and expectations. I apologize for the use of a checking account as an
example, but it is only to make a point clear. But this article is
not about the benefits of the soul when we die, it is about the benefits when we are alive!
ones who never miss their prayer schedules, go to extra religious
activities, pray constantly, are meek and seem to truly live the
word of their Creator. How would you describe them? Certainly
anger, pessimism, irritability, frustrations, incapacitation, sad, weak
and depressed are not expressions you would use. Instead, words
like happy, calm, serene, positive, carefree, strong, solid, joyful
and steady come to mind. Why? Is it because of who they are or
what they do? The answer is both. I am not talking about their
genetic make-up, I am referring to what they do. They pray and
are what we refer to as «religious».

his wellness concept has been catching on locally, nationally
and globally like wild fire. It is not a fancy, a «new toy»
one wants to play with. It is much more. It is a real, true
and concrete concept that is rooted in the experience of so many
and the research and scientific knowledge of our modern world. It
has been defined by the WHO and encompasses the three aspects
of who we are: mind (emotional and cognitive), body (physiological and anatomical), and soul (religious). I have yet to talk about
soul, which is why this article will tackle the subject. Make no mistake, I am not a religious figure, nor am I a Holy woman trying to
inspire or preach or even guide you on your spiritual journey. There are Holy men and women for that. I am also not addressing the
type of faith you have, for «to each his own». Rather, this article
is about the power and the benefit of feeding your soul. And that,
my friends, happens through religion, prayer and soul searching.
Our beliefs and attitudes are determined in a large degree by our
faith. They play a major role in our thinking patterns. Our day to day
thinking will have an impact on our emotions and feelings, and our
emotions and feelings will have a major impact on our behaviors. In
this regard, our thought patterns play a significant role in our emotional and physical health. If you believe, you can do it. And you
know what, you can! That is the power of prayer and religious lives.
That is wellness. Mind, body and soul: Truly! n
