Was Max Graetz wohl sagen würde, wenn er
wüsste, dass sein Spitzname „Petromax“ heute viel
mehr ist als der Inbegriff der weltweit bekannten
Starklichtlampe? 100 Jahre nachdem „Petroleum
Maxe“, wie Graetz von seinen Freunden genannt

years after ”Petroleum Maxe,“ as Graetz was called
by his friends, developped the high-pressure lamp,
Petromax still puts the emphasis on light but also
on the fire, on which you can cook and grill.
The fascination for the fire inspires us to find innovative ideas for outdoor cooking. The new products
attest to the long tradition of Petromax high-pressure lamps: A product is a good one only when it is
resistant, durable and repairable, which is why the
Petromax high-pressure lamp made of more than
200 individual pieces is still built today exactly as it
was 100 years ago.

surnom « Petromax » est aujourd’hui bien plus que
l’incarnation de la lampe à pression mondialement

The high-pressure lamps HK500 and HK150 by Petromax are a success thanks to a
fascinating technique which has provided a bright, warm light for more than 100
years. The lamps are made of brass and available in various colours. Moreover, the
highly heat-resistant Suprax glass protects the mantle from wind and bad weather. The large model HK500 shines with 400 watts, whereas the little HK150 has
a light output of 100 watts.

The well-known high-pressure lamp as an electrical version brings the outdoor feeling back home. The HK500 is equipped with a E-27 socket and a frosted glass. It

Petromax Helox Glühstrumpf
Die Petromax Helox Glühstrümpfe haben eine hervorragende Lichtausbeute und kommen im schicken Petromax-Design. Durch das extrem
reißfeste Schnürbändchen kann der Helox Glühstrumpf einfach und
problemlos am Brenner befestigt werden. Die U-Form des EinlochGlühstrumpfes bewirkt, dass sich der Glühstrumpf beim ersten Abflammen nicht
an den Vergaser legt. Die Glühstrümpfe sind frei von Asbest und nicht radioaktiv.
Petromax Stützbügel
Der Stützbügel dient dazu, die Lampe auf den Betrieb mit Zweiloch-Glühstrümpfen umzurüsten. Diese Glühstrümpfe gelten als stabiler als Einloch-Glühstrümpfe. Wir empfehlen zudem beim Einbau des
Bügels auf den Petromax VA-Brenner zu wechseln.
Gläser
Die Gläser der Petromax-Lampen streuen das Licht auf angenehme Art und Weise.
Es handelt sich um hochhitzefestes Borosilikatglas.

Bride d‘appui Petromax
Grâce à cette bride d‘appui, il est possible d’utiliser la lampe avec
des manchons à deux ouvertures. Ces derniers sont plus stables
que les manchons à incandescence simples. Lors de l‘installation de la
bride d‘appui, nous vous recommandons de plutôt utiliser le brûleur en acier inox
Petromax.
Verres
Les verres pour Lampes Petromax diffusent une lumière agréable. Ces verres borosilicates résistent aux hautes températures.

Manchon Helox Petromax
Le manchon Helox Petromax a un excellent rendement lumineux et se présente
sous l’élégant design Petromax. Grâce à ses lacets extrêmement résistants le manchon Helox à mailles serrées peut être facilement fixé au brûleur. La forme en U du
manchon à un trou fait que celui-ci n’entre pas en contact avec le carburateur lors
du premier allumage. Le manchon Helox Petromax est sans amiante et n’est pas radioactif.

Original Petromax Incandescent Mantle are characterized by their long service lifetime and their excellent stability. Single and double tie versions exist. The use of a
double tie mantle requires a double tie mantle holder.

Petromax Helox Mantle
The Petromax Helox Mantle has an excellent light efficiency and
presents itself in the elegant Petromax-design. Thanks to its tear proof laces,
the fine-meshed Helox Mantle can be very easily fixed to the burner. The
U-shaped single-hole mantle operates so that the mantle does not come into
contact with the carburettor when the mantle is burnt. The Petromax Helox mantles
are asbestos-free and non-radioactive.
Petromax Double Tie Mantle Holder
With the Double Tie Mantle Holder the lamp can be used with incandescent mantles having two holes. These incandescent mantles are known to be
more robust than those with only one hole. If this device is used, we
recommend using the inox burner.
Glass
The glasses of Petromax lamps diffuse the lamp’s light in a convenient and pleasant
way. They are made of high-heat resistant borosilicate glass.
Petromax Glühstrumpf
Original Petromax Glühstrümpfe zeichnen sich durch ihre lange Lebensdauer und
ihre erhöhte Stabilität aus. Sie sind als Einloch- und Zweilochglühstrümpfe verfügbar. Bei Einsatz eines Zweilochglühstrumpfs wird ein Stützbügel benötigt.

Petromax Radiator und Prallteller
Dank des Petromax Radiators lässt sich die Petromax HK350/500 in eine effiziente Heizung verwandeln. Der Petromax Radiator wird
mit den Schrauben auf einem Prallteller befestigt. Die Leuchte kann anschließend
mit oder ohne Glühstrumpf betrieben werden. Der
Prallteller schützt die Lampe: Im Falle eines defekten Glühstrumpfes wird der Tank der Lampe
durch den Prallteller abgeschirmt.

Füßen an der Unterseite steht der Gussrost-Einsatz
sicher im Topf für den richtigen Abstand zum Boden,
auf dem Tisch als Untersetzer oder in der Glut für
das perfekte Grillmuster beim direkten Grillen. Der
Stapelrost mit den 4,3 cm langen Füßen eignet sich
ebenso zum Backen und Dünsten, aber auch zum
Dampfgaren auf mehreren Ebenen gleichzeitig.

Baking and cooking in the Dutch Ovens ft6, ft9, ft12
and ft18 without burning anything. With the three
small feet at the bottom, the cast-iron trivet stands
steadily in the Dutch Oven, offering the right distance from the ground, on the table as a trivet or
for grilling food directly on the embers for the perfect grill pattern. The stack grate with the 1.7-inch
long feet is suitable for baking and braising as well
as for steaming food on several levels at the same
time.
Gute Gründe für Gusseisen
Gusseisen als schweres, robustes Material ist bei
richtiger Pflege äußerst langlebig – die Produkte
von Petromax bereiten über Generationen
hinweg Freude. Gusseisen ist wie gemacht für die
Verwendung auf Glut und offenem Feuer, aber auch
in der Küche zu Hause ist es kaum wegzudenken.
Einen besonderen Vorteil bietet das Material
durch die gleichmäßige Temperaturverteilung und
konstante Wärmespeicherung. Charakteristisch für
Gusseisen ist die Patina, die mit jedem Gebrauch
den Geschmack von Speisen verbessert. Die raue
Oberfläche nimmt Fette und Aromen auf, und gibt
sie beim nächsten Benutzen wieder ab. Gusseisen
ist einfach zu reinigen und zu pflegen – ganz
ohne Spülmittel. Unabdingbar sind allerdings das
gründliche Abtrocknen und Nachbehandeln mit der
Petromax Pflegepaste für Guss- und Schmiedeeisen.
Alle gusseisernen Petromax Produkte haben ein so

Good reasons for cast iron
Cast iron is a heavy, sturdy material that has an
incredibly long lifespan when given proper care
– Petromax products will make generations of
people happy. Cast iron is ideally suitable for use
on embers or an open fire, but its place in the
kitchen at home is also undeniable. A particular
advantage of the material is the even temperature distribution and the constant heat
storage. The patina is a characteristic of cast
iron; it gives food a better taste with every use.
The rough surface absorbs grease and flavours
and passes them on the food the next time it is
used. Cast iron is easy to clean and to take
care of – without any dishwashing liquid. However, it is indispensable to dry it up thoroughly
and to treat it with the Petromax Care Conditioner for Cast and Wrought Iron. All Petromax
cast-iron products have a so-called seasoned
finish and can be used directly without a prior
seasoning.
The Petromax Dutch Oven was tested by the
independent Institute Fresenius. That is how we
ensure quality and safety of our cast-iron products.

Des bonnes raisons pour fonte
La fonte, matériau lourd et robuste, a une longévité
incroyable si l'on en prend soin – les produits
Petromax sont transmis avec joie de génération
en génération. La fonte est idéale pour une
utilisation sur braises et feux ouverts, mais même
dans la cuisine à la maison, difficile de s'en passer.
Un avantage tout particulier du matériau est la
répartitition homogène de la température et la
conservation constante de la chaleur. La patine,
caractéristique de la fonte, donne un meilleur
goût aux aliments à chaque utilisation. La surface
rugueuse absorbe la graisse et les arômes et les
retransmet à la prochaine cuisson. La fonte se
nettoie et s'entretient facilement, entièrement
sans liquide vaisselle. Il est par contre indispensable

Wrought-iron Pan
Petromax Wrought-iron Pans pass on heat directly to the food thanks to the excellent heat conduction. The patina which develops through the special structure of
the pan's surface improves with each use and makes it possible to roast, fry and
braise without the food sticking to the pan.
Moule à pain avec couvercle

Der Petromax bk1 ist ein leichter und effizienter Outdoor-Kocher für unterwegs,
der in einer robusten Transporttasche aus Ripstop-Gewebe daher kommt. Weil
seine Konstruktion den Kamineffekt optimal ausnutzt, werden Zweige und Äste
sparsam, aber dennoch enorm heiß verbrannt. Wird der Bodenrost in der oberen
Position eingesetzt, lässt sich der Hobo-Kocher sogar mit gängigen Trockenbrennstoffen anfeuern. Weiter unten eingesetzt, kann Brennmaterial einfach durch die
großzügige Öffnung nachgelegt werden. Der aus Edelstahl gefertigte Hobo-Kocher
ist zudem äußerst widerstandsfähig: Töpfe jeder Größe und jeden Gewichts trägt

The Petromax bk1 is a light and efficient outdoor stove to use on the way. It is
delivered with a robust transport pouch made of ripstop fabric. Its design makes the
most of the stack effect, so that branches burn economically and extremely hot at
the same time. With the grate placed at the upper position, the hobo stove can
even be lighted with common dry fuels. If at the bottom, some more fuel can

The Petromax Atago can be used as a first-class oven or cooker when combined
with the cast-iron Dutch Oven (ft1, ft3, ft6 or ft9) on the grill with incandescent
briquettes. The temperature can be regulated thanks to an air supply lever on the
Atago. The Petromax Atago comes with a grilling grate, which transforms it into a
conventional barbecue and allows it to be used with a wrought-iron pan of the SP
series. Without a grate, the Atago serves as a fire pit for a pleasant evening around
a campfire or as a fresh coffee or tea maker in combination with the Petromax
Percolator.
