Fondation Napoléon 2012 History Prize Winners
The Fondation Napoléon History Prizes are awarded annually for work related to
the history of the two French empires, and this year’s winners were:

Fondation Napoléon 2012 History Prize – Open Prize
Each prize is worth 5,000 Euros
The jury also awards six PhD research grants of 7,500 Euros for theses on subjects
related to the two Empires. For the first time this year, and for 5 years, one of these
grants will be called the “Mme Minou Amir-Aslani Grant”, as a result of a
convention agreed between the Fondation and the lawyer Ardavan Amir-Aslani.
The jury which awards the Fondation Napoléon History Prizes and Research Grants comprises the
following members: V.-A. Masséna, Prince d'Essling (President), Jean-Claude Lachnitt (Secretary
general) and Anne Muratori-Philip, Prince Gabriel de Broglie (Chancelier of the Institut, member of
the Académie française), Jean-Marie Rouart, of the Académie française, Jean Favier, of the Institut,
Professor Jean Tulard, of the Institut, Professor Bruno Foucart, Professor Jacques-Olivier Boudon
(president of the Institut Napoléon) Jacques Jourquin, Dr Jean-François Lemaire, and Laurent
Theis.
