La voiture proposée ici est une version européenne de la Mangusta, équipée du V8 Ford 289 Hi-Po de 4,727 cm3
développant 306 ch. Quelques Mangusta, notamment celles vendues aux États-Unis, étaient équipées du 302ci (5
litres) de seulement 210 ch, offrant des performances nettement moins intéressantes. 8MA998 est une des dernières
Mangusta, importée en Grèce par l'importateur officiel et immatriculée le 5 février 1972. À l'origine bleu foncé avec
un intérieur en cuir noir, la voiture avait parcouru 18,500 km quand elle fut vendue en 1984 à un nouveau propriétaire
qui la conserva jusqu'en 1997.
La voiture changea à nouveau de mains en 1997 et atterrit chez un collectionneur qui possédait plusieurs des plus
belles voitures dessinées par Giorgetto Giugiaro, le styliste de la Mangusta lorsqu'il était à la carrozzeria Ghia. La
voiture a été confiée à un spécialiste de la restauration intégrale, qui a changé sa couleur d'origine pour un rouge,
tout en conservant le cuir noir de l'intérieur, décrit comme étant en excellent état.
En 2004, la voiture changea à nouveau de mains pour entrer dans la collection de M. Marios Stafylopatis où elle
rejoignit une Miura SV, une Ferrari Daytona Spyder et d'autres supercars italiennes des années 1970 tout aussi
légendaires. Connu pour sa passion de la vitesse, M. Stafylopatis a fait préparer le moteur aux spécifications de celle
de son ami propriétaire d'une autre Mangusta, Laurent Bouzoulouk. Toutes les pièces ont été fournies par Summit
Racing Equipment aux États-Unis et les transformations ont été réalisés par le mécanicien maison qui s'occupe des
45 voitures de la collection. On nous affirme que le résultat donne une voiture mécaniquement excellente, avec une
belle patine remontant à sa restauration de 1997 et ayant parcouru moins de 2,000 km depuis.
La Mangusta appartient au vendeur depuis 2008. Elle a parcouru moins de 400 km depuis et a connu un entretien
régulier, avec une révision des freins et une révision générale. Cocktail de puissance américaine et de beauté
italienne, cette magnifique Mangusta est vendue avec un historique et des factures d'entretien ainsi qu'une copie du
manuel d'entretien d'époque comprenant la liste des pièces détachées.

The car offered here is a European version of the Mangusta fitted with the Ford Hi-Po 289ci (4,727cc) V8 engine
developing 306bhp. Some Mangustas, mostly sold in the USA, used the 302ci (5.0-litre) engine producing only
210bhp, so the difference in performance was considerable. '8MA998' is a late-series car brought to Greece by the
official importer and first registered on 5th February 1972. Originally finished in dark blue with black leather interior,
the car had covered only 18,500 kilometres (11,500 miles) when it was sold in 1984 to a new owner who kept it until
1997.
In 1997 the Mangusta changed ownership again, passing to an enthusiast who owned a car collection that included
some of the most desirable creations of Giorgetto Giugiaro, the Mangusta's stylist while at Carrozzeria Ghia. The car
was treated to a professional 'last nut and bold' restoration, during which the exterior colour was changed to red while
retaining the original black leather interior, which is described as in excellent condition.
In 2004 the car changed hands again, entering the private collection of Mr Marios Stafylopatis where it joined a
Lamborghini Miura SV, a Ferrari Daytona Spyder and many other legendary Italian supercars of the 1970s. Mr
Stafylopatis, well known for his passion for speed, upgraded the engine specifications in line with those developed by
fellow Mangusta owner Laurent Bouzoulouk. All the parts were supplied from the USA by Summit Racing Equipment
and the work was carried out in-house by the Italian engineer who looks after the collection of more than 45 cars. We
are advised that the result is a mechanically excellent car, retaining a beautiful patina from its 1997 restoration, which
has covered fewer than 2,000 kilometres (1,200 miles) since.
The Mangusta has been in the current vendor's possession since 2008. Less than 400 kilometres (250 miles) have
been covered since then and the car has benefited from routine maintenance including overhauling the brakes and a
full service. An alluring combination of American muscle power and Italian grace, this beautiful Mangusta is offered
with significant service history and invoices together with a copy of the original Mangusta handbook and parts list.
