Nepean Visual Arts Centre

Through a broad range of studio classes and workshops, the NVAC/NCAC serves
approximately 4,100 adults and children each year. The Centres provide opportunities for
people to express themselves through pottery, painting, photography, drawing, writing,
dance, music, drama and wellness programs. It also offers community gallery exhibitions
annually, with work by emerging and established artists as well as opportunities for youth
artists – Young at Art. Located near each other, the Nepean Visual Arts Center (NVAC) is
located in the Nepean Sportsplex at 1701 Woodroffe Avenue, Nepean. The Nepean Creative
Arts Centre (NCAC) is located in Bells Corners at 35 Stafford Road. Please take a few

d’enrichir nos vies. Le Centre des arts créatifs de Nepean et le Centre des arts visuels
de Nepean offrent une multitude de cours, d’ateliers et de programmes éducatifs et
passionnants pour vous faire vivre les arts, quels que soient votre âge et votre niveau.

Le guide répertorie les différentes séries de programmes et d’ateliers, les centres des arts,
les musées, les théâtres, les archives, les galeries, les artistes en résidence et les
partenaires communautaires de la Ville avec lesquels vous pourriez entamer votre périple

Grâce à un large éventail de cours et d’ateliers, le Centre des arts visuels de Nepean et le

The Nepean Creative Arts Centre offers courses in music, dance, theatre, literary arts,
wellness programs and specialised workshops. In addition, the Nepean Visual Arts Centre

Course Information:
Children’s programs: Supply costs are
included in children’s programs.
Adult programs: Supply costs for most
adult programs are not included in the
program fee. Supply requirements or
additional fees will be listed on printed
course receipts or can be picked up when
registering. If you have questions regarding
your supply requirements, please call the
Nepean Creative Arts Centre at
613-596-5783 one week prior to start date.
DANCE WEAR: Dancers may wear
traditional dance wear (tights and leotards)
or comfortable clothing that allows
movement. Footwear must be appropriate to
the type of dance (ballet, jazz shoes,
gymnastics slippers).
Arts Tax Credit:
Keep Your Receipts - Many City of Ottawa
Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services
programs may be eligible for the Children's
Arts Tax Credit. The Children's Arts Tax
Credit is a federal, non-refundable, personal
tax credit that lets parents claim up to $500
per year for eligible programs of artistic,
cultural, recreational or developmental
activity expenses paid for each child who is
under 16 years of age at the beginning of
the year in which the expenses are paid. For

wide range of musical activities that appeal
to beginners, music enthusiasts and
students preparing for a professional career
in music. Day and evening classes are
available for voice, piano, strings and
woodwind instruments. The school year is
comprised of 36 private lessons or 32
sessions for ensembles.

Bells Corners Academy of Music offers
children and adults professional musical
instruction for all levels and interests by
highly qualified teachers.
Lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes long. In
accordance with the Royal Conservatory of
Music Curriculum, we highly recommend the
following class length:

JUNIOR CHOIR (5-12 yrs)
This ensemble will concentrate on basic
unison and two part selections designed to
teach the beginning vocalist about the
various aspects of group singing.
INTERMEDIATE CHOIR (13-16 yrs)
This ensemble will explore unison, two and
three-part repertoire. Students will be able to
work on tuning and ear training in addition to
basic vocal production.
SENIOR CHOIR (17+ yrs)
Senior Choir will work with vocal music in
different genres and styles to appeal to
different musical tastes.
JAZZ ENSEMBLE I (auditions may be
required)

CAMP
BCAM SUMMER JAZZ CAMP 2013
The B.C.A.M. Jazz Camp offers 2 weeks of
classes on jazz combos/bands,
improvisation, and jam sessions. Various
styles of jazz are covered. The camp is
available for students age 12+years with at
least 2 years of instruction on a band
instrument, piano or percussion. Auditions
may be required.

Withdrawals/Refunds
Full refund before the class starts. Refunds in first three weeks of
classes will be prorated for classes attended less a $10
administration fee. No refunds after the third week of classes.
Annulations
Les cours peuvent être annulés en raison d'un manque
d'inscriptions; dans un tel cas, vous aurez droit à un remboursement
complet.
Returned Cheques
A service fee of $15 will be applied to all cheques returned because
of non sufficient funds.

scheduled. All Les Petits Ballets classes should qualify for the
