In connection with prevention, the organisational changes associated with the three main types of emerging technological innovations will be addressed: • Communication technology, used to share information at the individual and group level (email, social media, shared platforms, etc.) in the working context; • The new computer-assisted production tools (physically assistive robots, digital technical support tools, augmented reality, drones, etc.); • Computer tools for management of production and information flows (Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and of health and safety (connected devices, etc.). All of these tools have already brought profound changes to production, organisation, management and relations at the workplace and prefigure the services and industries of the future. They are forging more complex business structures that generate new methods of organisation and greater flexibility in ways of working. They facilitate the implementation of virtualised forms of work (teleworking, nomadic working, virtual offices, etc.), reduce hierarchical and geographical barriers, modify conceptions of space and time by blurring the line between work and home life. The emergence of integrative databases, smart systems and connected devices and increasingly sophisticated robotics is also reshaping the organisation of production as well as human/technical system interactions. These changes take place in a context of globalised competition, which requires a continual adaptation to the needs of the market. Therefore, technological developments have the potential to improve occupational health and safety and help people remain at and return to work. However, if they are not controlled, they may just as likely be detrimental to the health of workers. People must be placed at the centre of the change process and the effects must be anticipated so that health of workers remains pivotal in present and future developments. ces, ial scien y c o s d n g a human anics, physiolo ned r in e s c r n e h n o ec i-dis itio ce c d pract l health, biom ed in this mult n a Audien s t r st pe na hers, ex ce, occupatio may be intere n s Researc r ie o c t s c a ering all OSH engine enerally g e r o and m rence. y confe invited ciplinar ns with l lanio s s e S . ia ructure parallel sessions tations.
