Bringing together universities, research institutes and SMEs active in this field, the project provides the link between research, development and application in the Greater Region. By constant scientific exchange, the partners will establish a cross-border network which will be competitive on an international scale. In medicine, the partners of CORENA carry out research on the health benefits of antioxidants and new therapeutic agents from natural products. With regard to agriculture, the goal is to develop ‘green’ pesticides. In contrast to conventional pesticides, those substances neither harm the environment nor the people consuming agricultural products. The technology transfer initiated throughout the lifetime of the project will enhance the innovative potential of the Greater Region in the area of natural products. duration 39 months (01/04/2009 – 30/06/2012) project funding coordinator 392,426.00 € Université Paul Verlaine – Metz, Laboratoire d’Ingénierie Moléculaire et Biochimie Pharmacologique Prof. Gilbert Kirsch Email: [email protected] Tel.: +33 3 87315295 / Fax: +33 3 87315801 partners •Saarland University, Germany Department of Bioorganic Chemistry, School of Pharmacy (Jun.
