2/ For the coming academic years, there will be fewer students from our university who go
on an ERASMUS exchange. At the end of the 6th year, all medical students in France are
now required to present a new examination : “l’Examen National Classant”. After this
examination, they will be ranked from the 1st to the last, and they will choose the field
they want to work in for the future from the first rank down. Therefore, the students are
worried that if they go on an ERASMUS exchange, their chances of ranking high will be
compromised compared to the students that stay in FRANCE.
3/ Our pedagogic organisation has changed : we now have only 6 modules :
Module A : Cardiology, Pneumology
Module B : Digestive, Oncology, Haematology, Dermatology
Module C : Nephrology, Endocrinology, Urology, Orthopedics, Rhumatology
Module D : Head and neck, Psychiatrics
Module E : Gynecology, Pediatrics
Module F : Emergency, Internal Medicine
The specialities taught in each module can not be dissociated. Students are required to
complete the whole module.
Each module corresponds to 30 ECTS.
Each module is one semester long, and they are organised with practical training in the
morning, and theoretical lessons in the afternoon. The details of the courses are not ready
yet. We will send them to you when they are ready.
WARNING : for module E, the practical training can only be done on pediatrics wards.
For academic year 2006-2007 :
No students from september to february : transition semester for the new pedagogic
organisation.
Foreign students can come on the second semester to done only one module.
2nd semester : from February 26th 2007 to June 22nd 2007 ( examination from June
18th 2007 to June 22nd 2007 )
With my best regards from France.
