Ti-Fock est un de ces musiciens à idée fixe, de ces créateurs qui
tentent leurs expériences à contretemps de la bonne pensée
esthético-politique du moment.
Premier artiste réunionnais à avoir suscité l'intérêt au-delà des
rivages de son île, Ti-Fock est incontestablement un artiste
original, perspicace et opiniâtre, qui marquera l'histoire musicale
de son ile, la Réunion.
Ti Fock “the Reunionese magician of rhythm and verb” is a
small young guy in his sixties, mixed Chinese and African,
which has known how to draw from all his roots a great
musical genius to play with the sounds of words. Add to
that an impressive imagination concerning arrangements
and squared-work, and you will have the “ti Fock style”,
resolutely original and unique. What he sings is “Maloya”,
this blues from the island essentially Afro-Malagasy, song
of slave resistance, fusion of ternary rhythms and African
percussions.
Ti-Fock « le magicien réunionais du rythme et du verbe » est un
tout petit jeune homme d'une soixantaine d'années, métissé de
chinois et d’africain, qui a su puiser dans toutes ses racines un
formidable génie musical pour jouer avec la sonorité des mots.
Ajoutez à cela une imagination impressionnante au niveau des
arrangements et un travail à l’équerre, et vous aurez le “style ti
fock”, résolument original et inimitable…
En 20 ans de carrière, Ti-Fock a sorti 4 albums très cotés et il a
tourné à travers le monde avec des pointures telles que James
Brown, Santana ou Ray Baretto, et pour de nombreuses vedettes
de l’hexagone, de Lavilliers à Noah, Ti-Fock est une référence.
