LEED Canada New Construction (NC) 2009 Silver Certification
This single free standing building, which forms part of Loblaws Plaza, a shopping centre
development, is occupied by the Royal Bank of Canada and located at the intersection of
Baseline Road and Merivale Road in Ottawa, Ontario. It is owned and was developed by
First Capital Realty Inc. (FCR) and obtained LEED Canada New Construction (NC)
2009 Silver Certification in 2014.
In keeping with FCR’s ongoing commitment to sustainable design and construction, this
single free standing building located at Loblaws Plaza was constructed to LEED Canada
NC 2009. The LEED Canada NC 2009 Silver Certification comprises the base building
design and construction of one building with 522 m² or 5,619 ft² in total. FCR did not
construct or fit out the interior finishes or leaseholds of the tenant premises; and as a
result, they were not included in this LEED Canada NC 2009 Silver Certification.
However, a mandatory agreement specifies that the tenant design and complete the
interior of their leased premises in accordance with LEED requirements.
