Mit der breiten Zarge (UKo 124) konnte der 12Zoll-Tonarm SME 3012 aufgebaut werden (Bild
161).
Fitted with the wider plinth (UKo 124) it was also
possible to mount the 12-inch tonearm
SME 3012 (Fig. 161).
Der TP 14 (Bild 160) hat ein silbernes Gegengewicht und den leichten, gitterförmigen Tonkopf
TP 50. Die Auflagekraft lässt sich zwischen 0,5
und 4 Gramm einstellen.
Neu ist auch die Antiskating-Einrichtung mit Gewicht am Nylonfaden (Bild 162).
The TP 14 (Fig. 160) has a silver-coloured
counterweight and is equipped with the light,
latticed headshell TP 50. Tracking force can be
adjusted between 0.5 and 4 grams.
A novelty is the anti-skating facility with a weight
on nylon string (Fig. 162).
Bild 163 zeigt die Liftmechanik mit einer bemerkenswerten Dämpfungseinrichtung (X), die den
Tonarm automatisch sanft absenkt.
Figure 163 shows the lift mechanism which
features a remarkable facility for damping (X) in
order to have the tonearm descending very
smoothly.
Auch der TD 135 wurde modernisiert: Er wurde
mit den TP 14 und Endabschaltung ausgerüstet
und bekam die Bezeichnung TD 135 II (Bild 164).
Der Anschaffungspreis mit Pickering-System lag
bei 555,- sfr.
The TD 135 was also modernised whereupon it
was delivered with tonearm TP 14 and end-ofrecord shut-off facility. The model name was
changed to TD 135 II (Fig. 164) and it could be
acquired at a price of 555.- sfr including a
cartridge from Pickering.
1965 wurde der erste HiFi-Plattenspieler mit
Thorens-Schwingchassis, der TD 150 mit Tonarm
TP 14 (Bild 164 A), auf dem Schweizer HiFiMarkt präsentiert. Seine einzigartige Entkopplung,
der 3,4 kg schwere Plattenteller und der Doppelsynchronmotor setzten Maßstäbe, die heute noch
Gültigkeit haben.
Die Idee des schwingenden Laufwerks stammte
ursprünglich von AR (Acoustic Research) aus
Amerika. Die Weiterentwicklung erfolgte jedoch
durch Thorens-Ingenieure in der Schweiz.
In 1965 the first hi-fi record player featuring the
Thorens suspended chassis, namely the TD 150
with tonearm TP 14 (Fig. 164 A), was presented to
the Swiss hi-fi market. It's unique floating chassis
as well as the 3.5-kg platter and the dual-synchronous motor have set a benchmark still valid today.

The idea of the suspended chassis was originally
conceived by AR (Acoustic Research) in the
U.S.A. Its further development however was
carried out by Thorens engineers in Switzerland.
