This exhibition of 82 bindings displays the
highlights of the 2013 Second International
Bookbinding Competition, organized by Designer
Bookbinders together with the Bodleian Libraries,
University of Oxford, and with the generous
support of Mark Getty.
253 binders from 31 countries took part and were asked
to bind a book of their own choosing on a Shakespearean
theme resulting in highly creative and surprisingly
diverse interpretations.
The Bodleian Libraries of the University of Oxford form the
largest university library system in the United Kingdom...
The combined library collections number
more than 11 million printed items, in
addition to 50,000 e-journals and vast
quantities of materials in other formats.
The Bodleian also attracts over 300,000
visitors every year to its events, tours and exhibitions.
