PRESS RELEASE N° 25, Monday 5 August 2013 Next exhibition : THE MALE NUDE exhibition and sale from 25 September to 30 November 2013 PHOTOGRAPHS from 1870 to 2013, Vintage Male Nude PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS 19th and 20th centuries An exhibition of about 200 works of various kinds representing male nudity and the male body. From academic studies representing painters’ and sculptors’ models - to sport, wrestling (in the late 19th century in particular), presenting semi-clad men in poses still echoed in more modern photographs, - to the sophisticated nudes of the 1930s, in the context of naturism, - to athletic nudes of the 1940s and 1950s, an enduring theme allowing artists to unveil the male body, - to exotic nudes, To contemporary iconography. Drawings paintings and photographs will be linked.
