Information for the SPL (Semantics, Pragmatics, Logic) Module exam 2016
1. When and where do I need to be?
The final exam for the module will take place July 26, at 1pm in building 23.21, room 3H. Please be
there by 12:30pm at the latest to check in with the exam proctors. The exam will consist of three parts:
Semantics, Pragmatics and Logic for a total of 180 minutes. It is suggested that you allot roughly 60
minutes to each part.
2. Which parts do I need to write?
 If you are a Linguistics major, you will have to complete all three parts (in 180 minutes).
 If you are a Linguistics minor or Information Science major, you will only have to complete the
Semantics and Pragmatics parts (in 120 minutes).
 If you are a Computer Science major with Linguistics as a minor, you will only have to complete
the Semantics part (in 60 minutes).
 If you do not fall into any of the above categories, yet still require an AP, please contact us at
[email protected].
 Exception: If you already received a BN in any of the relevant courses before the winter term of
2014/15 (WiSe 2014/15), you do not need to complete that part in the exam. Please show your BN
in the ASW-Sekretariat if you want to take advantage of this option.
3. How do I sign up?
 For everyone who started their studies in the winter term 2011/12 or later: You can sign up online
in the Studierendenportal. Registration ends one week before the exam on July 19.
CAUTION: Please do not sign up if you do not have all required BNs, as the system has
no automatic checks for this. We will, however, make a manual check once the registration period
ends and remove all students who do not qualify for taking the exam.


For everyone who started their studies before the winter term of 2011: You will need to turn in a
paper sign-up form. Contact us at [email protected].
For all computer science students: You cannot sign up online. Please send us an email at
[email protected] if you want to take the exam and bring your “Laufzettel” to the exam.
4. What language will the exam be in?
All tasks will be provided in both English and German, and you can choose to answer in either language.
5. Is there a make-up exam?
A make-up exam will be offered in early October, but only for those who signed up for and failed the
July 26 exam or can offer any other extenuating circumstances as to why they are not able to take the
exam on July 26.
6. What can I bring to the exam?
There is an open notes policy for the exam, meaning that you are allowed to bring any and all notes you
want. However, collaboration and using electronic devices are not allowed during the exam and will lead
to an automatic failing grade (5,0).
Do not forget to bring your student ID and some kind of photo ID.

1. Wann muss ich wo sein?
Die Modulabschlussklausur findet am 26. Juli um 13:00 in 23.21.HS.3H statt. Bitte seien Sie spätestens
um 12:30 vor Ort, um sich bei der Aufsicht zu melden. Die Klausur besteht aus drei Teilen – Semantik,
Pragmatik und Logik – mit insgesamt 180 Minuten. Für jeden Teil sollten ungefähr 60 Minuten
eingeplant werden.
2. Welche Teile muss ich mitschreiben?
 Linguistik Integrativ: alle drei Teile (in 180 Minuten).
 Linguistik EF oder Infowiss Integrativ: nur Semantik und Pragmatik (in 120 Minuten).
 Informatik mit Linguistik als Nebenfach: nur Semantik (in 60 Minuten).
 Studierende, die nicht in eine der o.g. Kategorien fallen, aber trotzdem eine AP benötigen, sollten
sich an [email protected] wenden.
 Ausnahme: Studierende, die bereits vor dem Wintersemester 2014/15 einen BN in einem der
relevanten Kurse erhalten haben, müssen den jeweiligen Teil nicht mitschreiben. Um diese
Möglichkeit zu nutzen, muss der BN im ASW-Sekretariat vorgezeigt werden.
3. Wie melde ich mich für die Prüfung an?
 Studierende, die im WiSe 2011/12 oder später angefangen haben: Anmeldung online über das
Studierendenportal. Ende der Anmeldefrist ist eine Woche vor der Klausur, am 19. Juli.
ACHTUNG: Bitte melden Sie sich nicht an, wenn Sie nicht alle notwendigen BNs haben, da das
System keine Möglichkeit hat, dies zu überprüfen. Wir werden daher eine manuelle Überprüfung
am Ende der Anmeldefrist vornehmen und alle Studierenden entfernen, die nicht für die Prüfung
zugelassen sind.


Studierende, die vor dem WiSe 2011/12 angefangen haben: Anmeldung wie gehabt über
Papierformular. Bitte [email protected] kontaktieren.
Informatik-Studierende: Online-Anmeldung nicht möglich. Bitte melde Sie sich unter
[email protected], wenn Sie die Prüfung schreiben wollen, bringen sie ihren Laufzettel
mit zur Prüfung.
4. Auf welcher Sprache wird die Klausur sein?
Alle Aufgaben werden auf Deutsch und Englisch gegeben, und können auch in beiden Sprachen
beantwortet werden.
5. Gibt es eine Nachschreibeklausur?
Eine Nachschreibeklausur wird vermutlich Anfang Oktober angeboten, allerdings nur für diejenigen, die
sich für den 26. Juli angemeldet haben und durchgefallen sind oder die besondere Umstände glaubhaft
machen können, die es ihnen unmöglich machen, die Klausur am 26. Juli zu schreiben.
6. Was kann ich zur Klausur mitnehmen?
Die Klausur wird als „Kofferklausur“ geschrieben, d.h. dass die Studierenden so viele Notizen und
Aufzeichnungen mitbringen dürfen, wie sie wollen – theoretisch auch einen ganzen Koffer voll.
Zusammenarbeit und die Benutzung elektronischer Geräte während der Klausur sind hingegen nicht
erlaubt und führen zum automatischen Nichtbestehen der Prüfung (5,0).
Auf jeden Fall mitgebracht werden müssen der Personalausweis und der Studierendenausweis.
