Jump Rope for Heart
Riverdale students will be participating in the Heart & Stroke Foundations Jump Rope for Heart campaign
to raise funds for heart and stroke research. Our fundraiser began with a very informative presentation from
C. Dones of the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Students are asked to collect donations from friends and
family. Our school goal is to raise $1000, and if we do, students will get to enjoy a nice extended
recess. Students have received an activity booklet to be completed at home to increase their awareness of
heart disease and healthy living. In addition, they received a pledge form envelope, which lists the prizes
they could earn based on the amount of pledges they collect. We will conclude our fundraising on February
13 and ask that all envelopes be returned by February 16th. Our school will be participating in various
Jump Rope for Heart skipping stations on February 13th. Thank you for supporting Riverdale students in
this event and thanks to Mrs. Hodak, Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Well for spearheading this event!
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! La fête des livres à Riverdale!
Our wonderful librarian Mme Ramirez and I invite your entire family to participate in the fair by
purchasing the latest and greatest in children’s books.
Did you know that for every $10 you spend at the Fair up to $6 comes directly back to our school? Your
support of this vital literary event is key in helping us obtain new books and resources for our library and
classrooms.
We look forward to seeing you during our Scholastic Book Fair and thank you, in advance, for supporting
this great literary fundraiser.
Mostly, thank you for believing in books and the importance reading has on your child’s future.
“Hot” Lunch on Friday
Thanks to parent Jesse Newell, students will be eating “Subway” on Friday. Un grand merci for taking this
on Jesse.
