AGRIAL Entreprise raises 50 million euros
AGRIAL, UNIGRAINS and the CREDIT AGRICOLE group (via IDIA and a pool of five regional banks led
by CAISSE REGIONALE de CREDIT AGRICOLE NORMANDIE) announce that 50 million euros has been
raised in equity funds to endow AGRIAL Entreprise with additional, long-term financial resources.
AGRIAL Entreprise is the company that holds the AGRIAL group’s stakes in its agro-food subsidiaries.
AGRIAL is a multi-specialist cooperative with activities in both agricultural production and agro-food
processing. The latter are grouped together within the AGRIAL Entreprise holding company and cover
the following sectors:
• milk: industrial dairy products and chilled dairy products with short shelf-lives;
• vegetables: fresh and ready-to-eat products, soups and vegetable purées;
• beverages: apple cider and applesauce, fruit juice and other non-alcoholic refreshing drinks;
• poultry and meat: poultry processing, meat wholesaling, processed meat products.
The Caen-based group has locations in more than 10 countries. It has 12,000 members in seven
French departments (14, 35, 37, 50, 53, 61, 72), employs 11,000 persons, and generated 3.9 billion
euros in revenues in 2013, including 2.1 billion for AGRIAL Entreprise.
Among the strengths of AGRIAL Entreprise, investors have recognised in particular:
• its strong commercial brand names: Florette, Priméale, Créaline, Loïc Raison, Ecusson, Danao, ...
• a proven track-record in integrating acquisitions (including Senagral and the ready-to-eat
vegetables of Bakkavör) to expand and increase its processing capacities
• a strong national footprint combined with expansion in international activities.
The funds, provided in equal measure by UNIGRAINS and the CREDIT AGRICOLE group to AGRIAL
Entreprise, will allow AGRIAL Entreprise to continue to expand in France and internationally, in
particular in the dairy and vegetable segments, which are major strategic businesses for the AGRIAL
group.
UNIGRAINS and IDIA, AGRIAL’s new financial partners have been chosen for their expertise and their
widely recognised ability to assist agro-food projects over the long term.
