This course present the basic concepts needed to understand the crystal structure of materials and the
knowledge of physical properties of solid state such as dielectric, magnetic, semiconductor and
superconductor.

Thecoursecoversthebasicsconceptsofmechanicsandpropertiesofmatterincludingthetopics:Physical
quantities, units, coordinates, and dimensions. Vectors and their characteristics. Kinematic equations, and
lawsofmotionincludingNewton'slaws.Energyandthework–Kineticenergytheoremaswellastheprinciple
of energy conservation. Pressure, density and fundamentals of fluid mechanics, law of Archimedes and
viscosity,Bernoulli’sequationanditsapplications.
GeneralPhysics3/PHYS201:
Itisanintroductorycourseformoreadvancedcoursesinthermodynamicsandwaves.Itpresentsthebasics
ofheatandthermalenergyinawayofmeasurements,interactions,waysoftransferandapplications.Italso
presentsthesimpleharmonicmotionandthesinusoidal,superpositionofsinusoidalmotionandwaves.

Theobjectiveofthiscourseistocoversthebasicconceptsandthetheoreticalfoundationsofelectriccharges
at rest and in motion. It provides a thorough introduction to electrostatics, magnetostatics and
electrodynamics.Wewillemphasizetheinter-relationshipbetweenElectricityandMagnetism,culminatingin
