An 18-month cross-training in management Outline of engineers' study track
Engineer-manager curriculum
Graduation
June
In the scope of several agreements signed between schools of
engineering and Audencia, students substitute their final year of
engineering studies by the 18-month management curriculum
at Audencia to obtain a double degree. This programme is
entirely taught in English and focuses on innovation and
globalisation.
The engineer-manager track was initiated with the Ecole
Centrale Nantes school of engineering. Nowadays, more than
20 other schools of engineering have joined Audencia for this
double degree. This original cross-training has been developed
in partnership with eight national and international corporations
looking to hire engineers with managerial skills.
Christian Nibourel
Managing Director for France
and Benelux, Accenture
Many engineers belong to the workforce
of Accenture, particularly in the areas of
consulting and computing. These people
often progress rapidly in their careers and
reach the positions of project and team
managers. A dual competence allows these
engineers to become operational very quickly,
not only in these areas but also in those
of customer relation management and
commercial development. Accenture is
always interested in innovative approaches
such as the management platform launched
by Audencia.
Carole Sottel
Head of recruitment
communication,
BNP Paribas
Every year, BNP Paribas recruits more
than 3000 people in France, half of which
are young graduate and 16,000 in the
world. Recruiting double profil (Business
and engineer) is a real opportunity for
BNP Paribas and a real added value for
the student

Jean-Cyril Spinetta
President Air France-KLM.
Thanks to a strong grasp of both the
technical and economic dimensions, an
engineer-manager double competence
is especially well suited for a competitive
sector such as ours. The diversity of our
career paths and the size of our projects
mean we seek out those who can rapidly
assume management responsibilities.
Therefore, Audencia’s engineer-manager
track is extremely attractive to Air-France
KLM as it offers a complete international
programme.
Patrick Dubois
Director of Operations
(Western France), ERDF
ERDF (branch of EDF that manages the
French electricity distribution network)
has always had a strong ambition when
recruiting managers. With the recent
opening of the electricity market, we
are particularly interested in Audencia’s
profiles that have both the skills of
engineers and managers. ERDF’s
activity definitely requires multi-skilled
managers.

Julien Grellier
Graduating class of 2010
During my engineering studies at the Ecole
Centrale in Nantes, I spent a year abroad in
New-Zealand where I studied economics, commerce and
accounting. As I found these subjects very interesting,
I wanted to deepen my knowledge in these areas. With
this in mind, the engineer-manager study track offered
by Audencia was an excellent opportunity.
At Audencia I am learning how companies work and now I
better understand the complexity of the business world.
I also found the lectures in marketing very practical,
preparing us for the world of work. Today, I think I am better
equipped for a career.
Eric Boustouller
President Microsoft France
The teaching approach of the engineermanager programme combines theoretical
knowledge with practical experiences
and an international orientation. This
matches perfectly the skills we look for
when we hire an engineer. Through this
partnership, we want to put forward the
variety and richness of the IT industry
as well as our “way of doing business”.
Microsoft can definitely offer many
opportunities to students with such an
engineer-manager profile.
Loïc Mahé
Human Ressources Director
Thales Group
Technical, business and managerial skills
are crucial and sought after, especially
for a group such as Thales. As a global
technology leader in Aerospace, Space,
Defence, Security and Transportation,
engineers represent 70% of our workforce.
With a recruitment forecast of almost
5000 people, we are confident that our
commitment to Audencia will help fulfil
our requirements as well as respond to
our clients’ demands.
Nantes, a European city in France
Extract - By Joshua Jampol, journalist, weekly tribunes in The
Times, The Guardian, Time Magazine and the International
Herald Tribune.
“Nantes is the gateway to the central Loire Valley, one of
the nation’s jewels, with its lush vineyards and legendary
castles. From Nantes you have access to a dozen different
worlds and their rich history, architecture, gastronomy
and more. Just two hours from Paris by high-speed train,
Nantes is a link outward to London, Brussels and Geneva.
It is France’s western capital and Paris’ natural route to the
sea. Open to the sea, it boasts both the nation’s numberone Atlantic seaport and busiest airport []”
Patrick Benammar
Director of salary policy, social
advantages and human resources
projects, Groupe Valeo
Nowadays, Valeo is interested in recruiting
atypical profiles who wish to build a multifaceted career and progressively evolve
in varied professional environments.
Graduates with an engineer-manager
qualification correspond to the profiles
we are seeking. These people are usually
able to move from one role to another
within our company.
Brigitte Durand
Head of department of Veolia
career promotion, Veolia
Audencia’s engineer-manager track
precisely addresses the latest evolutions
of the engineering profession in particular
in the environmental sector. Concretely,
those working on our sites need excellent
engineering skills as well as strong
organisational and man management
abilities.
