‘Lester’s Swinging Again’
Wow! This fantastic version of a personal tribute song was totally
unexpected. I never in my life expected to hear this song done
live. Three of my musical heroes sing for Sibling Rivalry, and they
have EXACTLY captured the spirit of Les Paul and Mary Ford.
Les Paul is not just the father of the electric guitar that bears his
name; nor is he just the inventor of multi-tracking in recording
studios. He is a living, breathing jazz musician who is still playing
at the Iridium Room in NYC every Monday night at 93 years old.

song as a tribute to his musical style AND to his multi-tracking
abilities, and I brought him a cassette demo of the song when my
girlfriend of the time and I made a pilgrimage to NYC to see him
play live in 1985. He accepted the song with grace, and I will
never forget that moment…
Cette chanson est un hommage à Les Paul (à la fois à son style
musical, et aussi a sa façon d’enregistrer des chansons avec les
magnétophones multipistes), et je lui ai donné ma chanson sur
K-7 en 1985 quand je suis allé lui voir ‘live’ a NYC, avec ma blonde
de l’époque. C’était un choc d’entendre cette hommage personnelle à Les chanté ‘live’ par trois de mes musicien(nes) préférées,
les chanteurs de Sibling Rivalry. La version est magnifique; ils ont
exactement compris comment rendre l’esprit de Les Paul et Mary
Ford en ‘Live!’ Les Paul est non seulement le père de la guitare
électrique, non seulement le créateur de l’enregistrement multipistes, mais c’est surtout un musicien de jazz qui joue toujours à 93,
