Généreuse par nature, la danseuse garde un contact constant avec son public, ce qui n’est
malheureusement pas aisé avec une configuration de salle en gradin. On imagine plutôt ce
spectacle jouer sur le plateau d’un théâtre, avec un public assis sur des coussins, très proche
de la danseuse. On ne verra donc dans ce spectacle ni une recherche sur la musicalité du geste,
ni une composition scénique innovante. Il faut plutôt y voir un moment de partage par la
danse et la musique, l’une et l’autre se répondant dans cette alchimie si particulière qui est
celle de l’instant vécu en commun.

this piece on the stage of a theatre, with a public seated on cushions, very close to the dancer.

innovative scenic design. Rather this has to be seen as a moment of sharing through dance and
music, mutually complementing each other in this particular alchemy that is the essence of the
moment experienced as a community.

“Danser avec Bob Dylan”
Lisbeth Gruwez choisit des gestes tantôt presque violents et saccadés, tantôt d’un infinie
douceur. Sa gestuelle est unique, on a l’impression que tout son corps peut se désarticuler tout
en gardant une beauté et une fluidité parfaite. Elle tourne sans fin sur elle-même, balance son
corps de manière répétée et douloureuse. Tout son corps, y compris son visage et jusqu’à ses
cheveux, exprime les émotions.

Zo krijgt de ziel van elke song een ander karakter in de dans van Gruwez. Of ze zich nu aan
een eenvoudige repetitieve beweging op een plaats overgeeft of juist voluit danst en de ruimte
gebruikt. Ze put voor haar persoonlijke interpretatie uit verschillende registers, maar iedere
beweging is tot in de kern doordacht en trefzeker. Naast de sombere thematiek kan er ook
vrijheid, hoop of schoonheid uit spreken. En ondanks dat zij volledig opgaat in de muziek,
verliest zij het contact met de toeschouwers niet. Er ontstaat een mooie balans met de
wereldberoemde muziek van de songwriter en de persoonlijke fysieke vertaling van Gruwez,
die qua intensiteit niet voor elkaar onderdoen. Je hoeft geen fan of kenner van Bob Dylan te
zijn voor Lisbeth Gruwez dances Bob Dylan. Met haar kracht trekt Gruwez je wel mee.
