LATEST DECISIONS OF THE WORLD MOTOR
SPORT COUNCIL OF THE FIA REGARDING
KARTING
During its meeting on 8 December 2006 in Monaco, the World Motor Sport
Council of the FIA took the following decisions regarding Karting:
2007 calendar
The World Council has also approved the date and venue of the 2007 CIKFIA Panamerican Championship: it will take place at Buenos Aires/RA on
20-22 April 2007.
The World Council has accepted two changes of dates:

The World Council has ratified the calendar of the 2007 CIK-FIA European
Superkart Championship. Three events are scheduled, with Magny-Cours/F
as the opening round (6 May 2007), then Assen/NL (12 August 2007) and
Sachsenring/D (16 September 2007). The Championship final will be a
major novelty because there has never been Superkarts on the hilly circuit
of the German motorcycle Grand Prix.
- the second round of the 2007 CIK-FIA European Championship of the
KF1, KZ1 and KZ2 categories, in Varennes sur Allier/F, is moved up one
week as opposed to the date initially announced because of a clash of date
with the French Formula One Grand Prix to be held at Magny-Cours. The
event will therefore take place on 21-24 June 2007;
- the 2007 CIK-FIA Viking Trophy of the KF2, KF3 and KZ2 categories
scheduled for Rudskogen/N is moved up one week as opposed to the date
initially announced because of a clash of date with the Norwegian round of
the FIA European Rallycross Championship scheduled for Momarken. The
event will therefore take place on 29 June-1st July 2007.
Sporting and Technical Regulations
The World Council has approved the Sporting Regulations of the 2007 CIKFIA North American KZ2 Championship. Eligible drivers: drivers holding an
international grade B licence (except B licences holders competing in KZ1
affiliated to ASNs from out of the American continent), and international
grade A licence holders from the American continent.

As regards the Technical Regulations of the future KF1 engines, carburettor
manufacturers will be allowed to make a homologation extension during
the first year of homologation. For these KF1 carburettors, the fixation
method is brought to two options, and the breather is standardised.
There have also been clarifications concerning the Technical Regulations
as regards exhausts (sheet metal thickness), overalls, seat fixing and
the correlation between the width of the rear track and the rear wheel
protection system.
2007 International Karting series approved by the FIA

The World Council has approved the following international Karting series:
Rotax Mojo Max Challenge Grand Finals, Rotax Mojo Euro Challenge, Middle
East Karting Cup, Rok Cup International Final, WSK International Series
(Winning Series Karting) and International Open Masters.
The details of the changed rules and of the new regulations will soon be available on
www.cikfia.com and in the periodical Bulletin of the CIK.

DERNIÈRES DÉCISIONS DU CONSEIL
MONDIAL DU SPORT AUTOMOBILE DE LA
FIA CONCERNANT LE KARTING
A l’occasion de sa réunion du 8 décembre 2006 à Monaco, le Conseil Mondial du Sport Automobile de la FIA a pris les décisions suivantes en matière
de Karting :
Calendrier 2007

Le Conseil Mondial a entériné le calendrier du Championnat d’Europe CIKFIA 2007 de Superkart. Trois épreuves seront au programme, avec MagnyCours/F en ouverture (6 mai 2007), puis Assen/NL (12 août 2007) et
Sachsenring/D (16 septembre 2007). La finale du Championnat constituera
une grande nouveauté, les Superkarts ne s’étant jamais produits sur le
circuit valloné du Grand Prix d’Allemagne de motocyclisme.
Le Conseil Mondial a également approuvé la date et le lieu du Championnat
panaméricain CIK-FIA 2007 : il aura lieu à Buenos Aires/RA les 20-22 avril
2007.
Le Conseil Mondial a accepté deux changements de dates :
- la seconde épreuve du Championnat d’Europe CIK-FIA 2007 des
catégories KF1, KZ1 et KZ2, à Varennes sur Allier/F, est avancée d’une
semaine par rapport à la date initialement annoncée, en raison de la
concordance de date avec le Grand Prix de France de Formule 1 à MagnyCours. L’épreuve aura dès lors lieu les 21-24 juin 2007 ;

nord-américain CIK-FIA 2007, catégorie KZ2. Y seront admis : les pilotes
titulaires d’une licence internationale de degré B (à l’exception des licenciés
B courant en KZ1 originaires de toute autre ASN que celles du continent
américain), et les pilotes du continent américain titulaires d’une licence

Des clarifications ont aussi été apportées au Règlement Technique en ce
qui concerne les échappements (épaisseur de tôle), les combinaisons, les
fixations de siège et la corrélation entre largeurs de la voie arrière et du
système de protection des roues arrière.
Séries internationales de Karting 2007 approuvées par la FIA
Le Conseil Mondial a approuvé les séries internationales de Karting
suivantes : Rotax Mojo Max Challenge Grand Finals, Rotax Mojo Euro
Challenge, Middle East Karting Cup, Rok Cup International Final, WSK
International Series (Winning Series Karting) et International Open
Masters.

En ce qui concerne le Règlement Technique des futurs moteurs KF1,
possibilité sera donnée aux constructeurs de carburateurs de procéder
à une extension d’homologation au cours de la première année
d’homologation. Pour ces mêmes carburateurs de KF1, le mode de fixation
est élargi à deux options et la prise de dépression a été standardisée.
