WINES WITH A FUTURE & TREASURE OF THE PAST
The Pyrénées-Orientales area takes the 9th rank in the French producing « counties », with 2% of the
national production in volume.
It products dry wines and 80 % of the Fortified Sweet Wines of France, a specificity from the Roussillon
which is recognized in the whole world.
From the young and fresh Muscat de Rivesaltes to the matured Maury from the beginning of the 20th
century, passing to incomparable Banyuls, Banyuls Grand Cru and Rivesaltes, the Roussillon offers a range
of Fortified Sweet Wines over more than a hundred years... exceptional wines always on the market
nowadays.
The Roussillon also counts on the future by positioning on the current trends, with an important
production of top range dry wines (AOP Maury sec, Côtes du Roussillon, Côtes du Roussillon Villages,
Collioure, IGP Côtes Catalanes and Côte Vermeille), Fortified Sweet Wines, fresh and young (AOP Maury
and Banyuls white, Rivesaltes and Banyuls Rosés without forgetting the Muscat de Rivesaltes), greedy
with « Grenats » (AOP Rivesaltes and Maury) and « Rimage » (AOP Banyuls).
