C’était jeudi, à vingt-deux heures
Les gens assmeblées commencaient leurs
Préparations pour prochaine semaine:
Il y aurait les choses quotidiens
Qu’on a presenté à tout le monde
Je peux pas faire comme si c’était pas profonde.
It was on Thursday, just at ten
The people all began again
To get things ready for next week.
Of everyday things they would speak
To all those that were gathered round
I won’t pretend they weren’t profound.
Au commencement, les adultes ont
Parlé des choses qu’ils font
Parce que c’est le printemps, c’est mars.
Nous devons partir, ils disent, car
Les vacances approchent.
Rester ici, c’est un peu gauche.
The first to speak, adults, of course:

After much thought (though some took less),
We could not help but answer ‘Yes.’
And then, we stopped a plan wherein
They change the At-Large reps again.
After all, it was understood

The final vote was one to see
