Les Aventuriers invites all young Cross Country Skiers up to 13 years of age to participate in a
fun filled day with a little competition.
In the morning, the individual sprints are as follows (ages below are as of December 31, 2013):
Boys less than 5 years old 50 meters – Classic
Girls less than 5 years old 50 meters – Classic
Boys 6-7 years old 50 meters – Classic
Girls 6-7 years old 50 meters – Classic
Boys 8 years old 50 meters – Classic
Girls 8 years old 50 meters – Classic
Boys 9 years old 100 meters – Freestyle (Skate or classic, choice of participant)
Girls 9 years old 100 meters – Freestyle
Boys 10-11 years old 100 meters – Freestyle
Girls 10-11 years old 100 meters – Freestyle
Boys 12-13 years old 100 meters – Freestyle
Girls 12-13 years old 100 meters – Freestyle

Medals will be awarded to the first 3 participants in each of the above-listed categories. Also
coaches will be evaluating for Best Technique in each of the sprint categories. An award will
be presented to one boy and one girl from each category for Best Technique.
Bibs will be distributed to all the participants of the sprint races. For a non-return of a bib,
clubs will be charged a 60$ replacement cost.
In the afternoon, there will be team relay races in the stadium. There are 2 categories:
The first one will consist of teams of 4 skiers (boys & girls) as described below:
2 skiers 5-6 years old – Classic
2 skiers 7-8 years old –Classic
Distance = 4 X 0.5 km.
The second one will consist of teams of 4 skiers (boys & girls) as described below:
2 skiers 9-10 years old – Skate
2 skiers 11-13 years old – Skate
Distance = 4 X 1.0 km.
The race will be on 2 different trails within the stadium. One is 500m and the other is 1 km in
length.
Medals will be awarded to the first 3 teams in each category.
We ask that team members be chosen from their respective clubs and the list sent to us prior to
February 13 at 21h00 by e-mail to Marc Leclair at the following address:
[email protected] or Louise Leblanc at ([email protected]). Please fill the Team
Relay Registration Form. You will find this form below.
Once the skiers have finished their sprint, there will be games in designated areas. There will be
no awards in the recreation segment.
ALL YOUTHS PARTICIPATING IN THE TOURNAMENT WILL RECEIVE A BUFF HEADBAND
SPONSORED BY CROSS-COUNTRY CANADA.

REGISTRATION
All Clubs are required to pre-register no later than February 13, 2014 at 21h00. The Club
registration form with all names, ages, and genders can be sent to the registrar, Marc Leclair,
by e-mail [email protected] or Louise Leblanc at ([email protected]). In addition each
participant must fill and bring Individual form fully completed and signed by parent or
guardian on the day of the tournament. Copy of the form accompanies this invitation.
THERE IS NO REGISTRATION FEE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT. THANKS TO COSS COUNTRY

LUNCH
Lunch will be provided for all participants and coaches at no cost. The lunch will be a soup, with
a grilled cheese sandwich, small dessert and a beverage. Parents & friends may purchase lunch
for $5.00.
