though we sin, his mercy fills us with his grace -continually
making us worthy to serve each other and to build up his
kingdom.

Special Collection: Haiti Hurricane Relief
A letter from Bishop Fabbro / une lettre de Mgr Fabbro
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
It is with great sadness and concern that we have learned
of the devastation left behind by Hurricane Matthew in Haiti,
the most powerful storm to hit the country in a decade. The
extent of damage remains unclear, however, preliminary
reports from Development and Peace partner Caritas Haiti
indicate that the storm is catastrophic for the local
population, and has left thousands of people displaced.
I am always amazed by the generosity of the people of
our diocese at the time of a natural disaster and ask you to
support emergency relief efforts for victims of the hurricane
in Haiti through collections that will be taken up in our
parishes. Once again, we will work with the Canadian
Catholic Organization of Development and Peace (CCODP),
which is collaborating with the Caritas members in the
region, including Caritas Haiti. More information is available
on the CCODP website, www.devp.org.
Please pray for the victims and their families. Your
prayers, generosity, and assistance are greatly appreciated.
Please place your donation (cash or cheque) in an envelope clearly
marked ‘Haiti Hurricane Relief Fund’ and place it in the collection
basket. Make your cheque payable to ‘Visitation Parish’.
