La Chapelle Musicale prend ses quartiers d’été !
Season 2015-16
MuCH Music
La Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth termine son année en point d’orgue : la Garden Party est la première
présentation au grand public depuis l’ouverture de l’Aile de Launoit en janvier dernier. Cette journée du 13
juin est à la fois une occasion de découvrir ou redécouvrir le site de la Chapelle et ses nouvelles infrastructures et aussi d’apprécier une large programmation musicale pour les petits et grands. A partager donc en
famille !

Voici donc venus les derniers workshops de fin d’année pour une saison 14-15 qui se termine, des jeunes qui
enregistrent l’intégrale de Lalo avec l’Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège et d’autres qui partent en
tournée pendant l’été. Quelques présences à mentionner parmi d’autres :
• La première de Be With Me Now le 7 juillet au Festival d’Aix-En-Provence, spectacle coproduit par la
Chapelle Musicale dans le cadre d’enoa.
• La Chapelle est un invité d’honneur du Festival de l’Eté Mosan les 15, 16 et 17 juillet.
• La Chapelle est à nouveau en résidence d’été dans le Festival Muse Salentine dans les Pouilles avec deux
concerts les 27 juillet et 6 août.
• Enfin, après notamment trois concerts au Festival Classissimo les 7, 8 et 14 août, quelques jeunes solistes en
résidence termineront leur session 14-15 aux Musicales de Beloeil le 5 septembre.
La saison 2015-2016 démarrera dès la mi-septembre avec deux nouvelles activités :
• Le lancement d’une nouvelle saison grand public (MuCH Music) de 60 concerts à la Chapelle Musicale,
un véritable tournant dans l’ouverture de l’institution. Le premier concert de la saison aura lieu le 21 sep tembre.
• Le lancement du Cercle Chapel, Culture et business, le 17 septembre.
Et sans oublier bien sûr la reprise officielle de la saison académique dès la première semaine d’octobre.
En attendant, passez un bel été, au soleil et en musique si possible !

De Muziekkapel neemt haar zomerintrek!
De Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth beëindigt haar jaar met een daverende finale: tijdens de Garden Party
maakt het grote publiek voor het eerst kennis met de de Launoit-Vleugel sinds de opening in januari jl. Op
13 juni zal men de site van de Kapel met haar nieuwe infrastructuur immers kunnen (her)ontdekken en
eveneens kunnen genieten van een uitgebreid muzikaal programma voor groot en klein. Kortom, een ideaal
moment om te delen met het gezin!
De laatste workshops van dit jaar, nu het seizoen 14-15 op zijn einde loopt, jonge musici die het integrale
werk van Lalo opnemen met het Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège (OPRL), en anderen die deze zomer op tournee vertrekken, naar o.m. de volgende festivals:
• De première van Be With Me Now, op 7 juli in Aix-En-Provence, een coproductie met de Muziekkapel in
het kader van enoa.
• De Kapel is een eregast van het ‘Festival de l’Eté Mosan’, op 15, 16 en 17 juli.
• De Kapel verblijft deze zomer opnieuw op het festival ‘Muse Salentine’ in Apulië (Puglia), met twee
concerten op 27 juli en 6 augustus.
Het seizoen 2015-2016 gaat van start vanaf midden september met twee nieuwe activiteiten:
• De start van een nieuw seizoen voor het grote publiek (MuCH Music) met 60 concerten op de Muziek kapel, een echt keerpunt in de openstelling van de instelling.
• De introductie van de Cercle Chapel, Culture & business, op 17 september.
En zonder uiteraard de officiële herneming van het academisch jaar te vergeten, vanaf de eerste week van
oktober.
In afwachting daarvan wens ik u een mooie zomer toe; een muzikale zomer, indien mogelijk!

en enkele jonge solisten in residentie ronden het jaar 14-15 af op de ‘Musicales de Beloeil’, op 5 september.
The Music Chapel takes up its summer quarters!
The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel concludes its year on a high note: the Garden Party is the first presentation to the general public since the opening of the de Launoit Wing in January. This event on 13 June will be
the occasion to discover or rediscover the site of the Chapel and its new infrastructure as well as an opportunity to enjoy an ambitious musical program for young and old. The perfect family outing!
The last workshops of the 2014-15 season are taking place as the year draws to a close; some young artists
are recording the complete works of Lalo with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, while others will
soon set off on tour for the summer months. Some events worth mentioning among others:
• The premiere of Be With Me Now on 7 July at Festival Aix-en-Provence, a show co-produced by the Music
Chapel in the context of enoa.
• The Chapel will be a guest of honor at the Festival de l’Eté Mosan on 15, 16 and 17 July.
• The Chapel will once more be in summer residence at the Muse Salentine Festival in the region of Apulia
with two concerts on 27 July and 6 August.
• Lastly, after three concerts at the Classissimo Festival on 7, 8 and 14 August, a number of young soloists in
residence will conclude their 2014-15 season at the Musicales de Beloeil on 5 September.

to be a classical musician in today’s internationalized society? Is it possible to
present classical music as a source for societal self-reflection? With his new
13-player string orchestra BOHO Players conductor David Ramael seeks to answer these questions in an open-minded and unconventional way. As part of
our weeklong residency at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel we will be kicking off our season with an eclectic concert, featuring soloists from the Music
Chapel and presenting a wide range of musical styles. Join us for BOHO Players’ inaugural concert on Thursday 27 August 2015, at 8 p.m. and get to know all of the musicians after the concert.

Lors des Master class, concerts et examens publics, l’équipe du Foyer vous accueille (sur réservation) pour le déjeuner de 12h30 à 14h et pour le dîner, si c’est un concert du soir, à partir 19h.
Une petite carte légère (printemps/été) aux saveurs simples et variées ou le lunch du jour sont
disponibles.
Le nombre de couverts est limité afin de respecter l’intimité du lieu.
Tijdens de publieke masterclasses, concerten en examens ontvangt het team van de Foyer u van
12.30 tot 14 uur (mits voorafgaande reservatie). En, voor het diner, als het een avondconcert is,
vanaf 19u. Een kleine lichte kaart(lente/zomer) met eenvoudige en gevarieerde gerechten of de
dagschotel zijn beschikbaar.
Het aantal personen is beperkt om het intieme karakter van de locatie te behouden.

Initiated by Maria João Pires, the aim of the Partitura project is to create an altruistic
dynamic between artists of different generations. Aiming to thwart the harmful effects of the ‘star-system’, to discover the potential of the upcoming generation, to
offer a new perspective on the function of music and to deepen the sense of this
concert ritual, the Partitura Project and the Music Chapel provides a unique launch
pad, along the same lines as its high expectations and aims. It is about rising to the
challenge - for a music school, a composer, a musician, even for everyone in the audience: it is about awakening that sound which can easily escape us, but which gives
us all meaning.

Within the Aix-en-Provence Festival, the Académie européenne de musique is one of
the key places for cultivating Mozartian interpretation. The Académie provides training for young singers and pianists who seek to perfect their technique and hone
their knowledge of Mozart’s repertoire. Training sessions focus on vocal technique,
musical interpretation and acting skills will be completed by drama work supervised
by either a renowed stage director or choreographer. The residency includes public
Master class and concerts.
Une chose que l’on peut dire à propos de la musique est que nous pouvons faire notre
possible pour la saisir et l’enseigner, mais il y aura toujours quelque chose qui manque
de cette manière – la grâce – ce miracle inattendu qui donne à la musique sa vraie
valeur. La transmission n’est pas seulement esthétique, mais éthique : la musique,
comme tout art, fait partie du mystère qui façonne l’humain.

The Music Chapel continues the collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center of
Brussels, initiated in 2014. The Korean Cultural Center in Brussels is an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Cultures, Sports and Tourism, which was founded in
November 2013 to introduce Korean culture, art, history, and society to Belgians as
well as the Europeans. Established in a superb venue in Brussels, the Korean Cultural
Center offers a variety of program, and is also a venue for music performances and
conferences.
In a world where the crisis is gaining ground in all areas and at all points of the horizon, we believe that the only solution remains the culture and art. We are working
with the awareness to contribute to the transmission of a cultural heritage rich and
modest contribution to building a better future. Contrary to popular belief, the music

Cette année encore, La Chapelle Musicale a une place de choix dans la programmation du Festival de l’Eté Mosan. Dans ce concert, deux œuvres de Lalo seront interprétées par des solistes qui participent au projet d’enregistrement de l’intégrale des
œuvres concertantes de Lalo, chez Outhere. L’occasion de découvrir un compositeur
peu connu !
New production of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence of the Académie du Festival. In coproduction with Aldeburgh Music, the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding, the
Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, the Dutch National
Opera & Ballet, LOD musical theater and the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera. With the
support of enoa. For the fifth anniversary of enoa, the Académie du Festival d’Aix will start
performing Be With Me Now. This musical performance finds its origin in The Magic Flute.
In the midst of the performance, Tamino leaves the stage and starts off a journey in quest
for a lost love throughout four centuries of music and all around Europe. Thanks to the
video montage, the audience follows him from one capital to another, guided by the music
only. Tamino’s journey strings together extracts by Britten, Lambert, Bellini, Stravinsky and
Handel as well contemporary pieces commissioned from Daan Janssens and Vasco Mendonça, which all highlight the vitality of the opera tradition in Europe today.
Dit jaar heeft de Muziekkapel een bevoorrechte plaats in de programmatie van het
Festival de l’Eté Mosan. In dit concert zullen twee werken van Lalo geïnterpreteerd
worden door solisten die deelnemen aan het opname project van al de concerto
meesterwerken van Lalo bij Outhere. De kans om een weinig gekende componist te
leren kennen!

Led by Natalie Dessay and Laurent Naouri – soprano and bass-baritone and Roger
Vignoles – piano Clarity of expression, precision and concentration of form are qualities peculiar to the French genius Claude Debussy. A rare opportunity to work with
the legendary husband-and-wife duo in masterclasses exploring the uniquely colourful world of 19th Century French opera. Alongside this will be sessions on the poetic
French art song equivalent of German Lieder. The course will culminate in a high-profile concert as part of the Snape Proms.

La 9ème édition du Festival Classissimo, volet classique du Brussels Summer Festival,
se tiendra dans la superbe salle à l’italienne du Théâtre Royal du Parc et fait la part
belle à la jeunesse. En effet chaque concert réunit autour de grands artistes depuis
longtemps confirmés des musiciens beaucoup plus jeunes dont le talent ne laisse
d’impressionner, confirmant ainsi que la « valeur n’attend pas le nombre des années ».

des découvertes ; des artistes bien de chez nous, d’autres pour la première fois à
Bruxelles, d’autres encore fidèles à notre festival ; de nombreux jeunes talents et des

‘Les Musicales de Beloeil’ en ‘Les Nuits Musicales de Seneffe’ zijn overeengekomen
om hun krachten en hun inzet te bundelen om met ingang van de editie 2015 een
dagvullend festival van de klassieke muziek te organiseren in Beloeil ! ‘Les Musicales
de Beloeil’ krijgt dus een sterke en ervaren partner voor het opzetten van een grootse
dag vol muzikale evenementen, in het kader van Mons 2015, op 5 september 2015.
“Een prachtkans die we beiden moeten grijpen om deze opdracht te vervullen in een
uitzonderlijke omgeving, het park van het Kasteel van Beloeil, en te profiteren van
de ervaring van La Nuit Musicale. De Musicales de Beloeil werpen zich zo op als het
grootste klassiekemuziekfestival in het land, en dat zal het publiek weten te smaken.”

Les Musicales de Beloeil et Les Nuits Musicales de Seneffe ont décidé, d’un commun
accord, de regrouper leurs forces et leurs énergies afin de proposer, dès l’édition 2015
et dans les années à venir, un festival de musique classique d’un jour, à Beloeil ! Les
Musicales de Beloeil se renforcent donc d’un partenaire d’expérience afin de proposer
au public une grande journée de festivités musicales, dans le cadre de Mons 2015, le 5
Septembre 2015. « C’est une chance et une opportunité pour nos deux organisations
de poursuivre cette mission dans un cadre d’exception, celui du parc du Château de
Beloeil, et de profiter de l’expérience de la Nuit Musicale, afin de faire des Musicales
de Beloeil, le plus grand festival de musique classique du pays, et ce pour le plus grand
plaisir du public » Bernard de Launoit, directeur artistique des Musicales de Beloeil.
De editie 2015 van de Musicales de Beloeil, dat plaatsvindt op 5 september e.k., is
opgebouwd rond de top vijftig van de muziekgeschiedenis, van de Vier Seizoenen van
Vivaldi tot de muziek van de film ‘La vita è bella’.
L’édition 2015 des Musicales de Beloeil, prévu le 5 Septembre prochain, sera axé sur
le TOP 50 de l’histoire de la musique, en passant des 4 saisons de Vivaldi à la musique
du film « La Vita è Bella ».
