Alliance des savoir-faire du cuir et du métal
L’histoire artisanale et industrielle du Pays du Cheylard et de Romans-­sur-­Isère s’écrit au fil de
l’eau.
L’eau qui traverse ces territoires et qui permit, dès la fin du 19ème siècle, l’implantation de
tanneries et d’entreprises de fabrication de bijoux.
Puis les mutations industrielles engagées au début du 20ème siècle se sont poursuivies,
réponses nécessaires aux crises économiques qu’a connues la France durant ce siècle.
Les entreprises réunies au sein des «Caractères» sont liées les unes aux autres par leur histoire,
leurs savoir-faire, des compétences et des particularismes qui se transmettent de générations
en générations et se complètent.
Cette première collection, rencontre du cuir et du métal, est un retour aux sources et à l’origine
artisanale et industrielle de ces deux territoires de la Drôme et de l’Ardèche.

Alliance of leather and metal know-how
The handcrafted and industrial history of Le Pays du Cheylard and Romans-sur-Isère is written
bythe flow of the rivers.
From the end of the 19th century, thanks to the water crossing these territories, tanneries and
jewelry manufactures got established.
Then, the industrial transformations that started at the beginning of the 20th century, continued. It was the only way to reply to the economic crisis that France went through during this
century.
Gathered together in Les Caractères, the companies are also related to one another by their
histories, their know-­how, their skills and their particularism that are handed down from generation to generation and complement one another.
This first collection, union of leather and metal, is a return to the roots and to the handcrafted
and industrial origins of those two territories of Drôme and Ardèche.

Variation chromatique
Clin d’oeil à l’histoire de l’entreprise et de son fondateur Georges Legros, Les Georgettes
est la première collection de la créatrice Céline Guilhermet. Elle s’est inspirée des
motifs de la peau d’alligator pour créer une dentelle de métal aux formes simples et
épurées, en laiton trempé dans l’or et en laiton argenté et rhodié.
Ces motifs sont rehaussés par des bandes de cuir fines et souples, amovibles et
réversibles. Caresse de matière à porter à même la peau, les quatre jeux de couleurs
de cuir proposés par Les Georgettes offrent de multiples combinaisons et la possibilité
d’assortir bijoux et tenues, au gré de son humeur.
Plastrons, manchettes, bracelets, colliers, boucles d’oreilles, bagues et bracelets
souples se déclinent pour des femmes aux multiples visages, pétillantes et élégantes,
versatiles et libres de jouer avec les codes et les tendances.
Fondé en 1917, le groupe GL s’est développé dans l’esprit de son fondateur : travailler
la matière pour le plaisir du beau, des élégantes finitions, dans le respect d’un savoir-­
faire transmis de pères en fils.
Ces traditions artisanales liées au savoir-faire industriel du Groupe GL en ont fait un
des leaders sur le marché européen de la bijouterie, lui permettant de développer
ses propres marques et collections, ses licences (Kenzo, Lacoste, Nina Ricci, Inès de la

Chromatic variation
Inspired by the company’s history and its founder Georges Legros, Les Georgettes is
the first collection by the fashion designer Céline Guilhermet. She was inspired by the
patterns on alligator skin, to create a metal lace in simple and elegant forms, made
of brass tempered in gold and silver-plated and rhodium-plated brass.
These patterns are enhanced with fine and supple leather strips which are removable
and reversible, a leather caress to wear on body skin. The four color sets of leather
proposed by Les Georgettes, offer many combinations and possibilities to match
jewels and outfits, according to one’s mood and whims.
Necklaces, cuffs, bangles, earrings, rings and bracelets, so many jewels for so many
women who are sparkling and elegant, multifaceted and free to play with codes and
trends.
Set up in 1917, Groupe GL has grown through the spirit of its founder : working the
materials for the pleasure of beauty, elegant finishes in respect of the know-­how
handed down from father to son.
This traditional craft linked to the Groupe GL industrial know-­how have made it one
of the leaders in the European market of jewelry, which has enable it to develop
its owns brands and collections, its licences (Kenzo, Lacoste, Nina Ricci, Inès de la
Fressange), while working for great names in the sector of luxury. Groupe GL is certified
EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) and French Jewelry.
Tradition et Fantaisie
L’entreprise familiale MSR Bijoux est spécialisée dans la fabrication manuelle de bijoux
plaqués or et argent et or 18 carats. Un savoir-­faire traditionnel qui se transmet depuis
cinq générations.
Entièrement plaquée or, la collection Victorine allie un brin de fantaisie à une élégance
discrète.
Elle se compose d’un bracelet jonc orné d’une pastille de cuir et d’un empierrage
en harmonie avec la couleur du cuir, de boucles d’oreilles reprenant le motif de la
pastille de cuir, d’un bracelet manchette et d’un collier avec pendentif, dont l’élément
central habillé de cuir est aimanté. Ce système d’attache innovant permet de varier
les coloris selon ses envies.
Fondée en 1906, la Maison Chapus-­Rochette est devenue MSR Bijoux dans
les années 80, sous l’impulsion de Didier Rochette, quatrième génération de
ces bijoutiers ardéchois. A l’origine spécialisée dans la fabrication de bijoux
exclusivement en or 18 carats, l’activité de l’entreprise s’est diversifiée et
modernisée en proposant des modèles en argent, or, plaqué or et fantaisie.
Tradition and Fancy
The family owned-company is specialized in hand manufactured gold plated and
silver jewels and jewels made in 18 carat gold. A traditional know-­how that has been
transmitted for five generations.
Entirely made of gold plated, the collection Victorine combines a hint of fancy to a
discrete elegance.
It is composed of a bangle adorned with a leather polka-­dot and gems in harmony

of leather is magnetic. This innovative system of clasp enables to vary the shades
according to one’s desires.
Founded in 1906, the name company Chapus-­Rochette became MSR Bijoux in the 80’s,
driven by Didier Rochette, 4th generation of these jewelers. At the beginning exclusively
specialized in 18 carat gold jewels, the activity of the company has expanded and
modernized by proposing models in silver, gold, gold-plated and fancy jewels.
Jeux de fermoirs
Avec la marque 316 Ailes, Créafusion imagine une nouvelle ligne de bijoux et
accessoires pour hommes et femmes, mariant l’acier et les métaux précieux aux
matières naturelles telles que le cuir et les pierres précieuses. L’originalité de cette
collection repose sur d’astucieux fermoirs intégrés aux bijoux avec finesse, qui
deviennent un ornement et le vecteur identitaire de la marque.
Cette première parure alliant cuir et acier s’adresse à une clientèle masculine. Elle se
décline en cinq éléments : un bracelet, une bague, un collier avec pendentif, une
ceinture et un couteau.
Le savoir-faire de Créafusion dans la fonderie leur permet d’intégrer avec subtilité de
fines pièces de cuir dans les différents bijoux et d’apporter ingéniosité, innovation et
finesse dans la fabrication de fermoirs simples et naturels.
Fondée en 1996 par Jean-­Noël Plantier, Créafusion est aujourd’hui dirigée par ses
enfants, Nadia Roux et Josselin Plantier. Le savoir-faire et la maîtrise technique de la
fonderie à cire perdue, de la fonderie de l’inox et de l’aluminium, permet à Créafusion
de fabriquer des pièces aussi bien pour le secteur de la bijouterie joaillerie que pour
celui de l’industrie.
Games of jewelry clasps
With its 316 Ailes brand, Créafusion creates a new line of jewels and accessories for
men and women mixing steel and precious metals with natural materials like leather
and gems. The originality of this collection is based on ingenious clasps incorporated
into jewelry with finesse that become an ornament and the identity of the brand.
This first set mixing leather and steel is meant to male customers. It presents five
elements: a bracelet, a ring, a necklace with a pendant, a belt and a pocket knife.
Créafusion’s know-­how in casting process enables them to subtly integrate fines
pieces of leather into their different pieces of jewelry and to expose their own ingenuity,
innovation and fineness in the manufacture of simple and natural clasps.
Created in 1996 by by Jean-­Noël Plantier, Créafusion is now runs by his children,
Nadia Roux and Josselin Plantier. Their know-­how and technical mastery of lost-­wax
casting process and stainless steel and aluminum casting process enable them to
manufacture pieces both for the jewelry and industry sectors.
Inspiration Torque
Créé par Gilbert Giraud, Font’Art Créations est spécialisé dans la fonderie d’art.
Pour Les Caractères, sa marque Alinéa s’enrichit d’une parure plaquée or qui puise
son inspiration dans l’une des plus anciennes formes de bijoux celtiques : le collier
Torque. Chaque pièce de la parure, bracelet, pendentif, boucles d’oreilles, bague et
collier, reprend cette ligne pure et intemporelle.
Les pièces de cuir insérées dans les bijoux, en composant un motif géométrique,
apportent une touche de modernité à ces formes classiques et élégantes.
Riche de 22 ans d’expérience, Gilbert Giraud a installé son atelier à Saint-­Martin de
Valamas en 1999, au coeur de La Vallée du Bijou. Composé de sept personnes dotées
d’un savoir-­faire spécifique, les compétences de Font’Art Créations lui permettent
de travailler avec de grandes marques de bijoux fantaisie, réalisant des collections
complètes mais aussi des pièces de collection haute couture.
Torque Inspiration
Created by Gilbert Giraud, Font’Art Creations is specialized in art foundry.
For Les Caractères, its brand Alinéa is enhanced with a gold-plated set that draws
its inspiration from one of the oldest forms of Celtic jewelry: the Torque. Each piece of
the set, bangle, pendant, earrings, ring and necklace, renews this pure and timeless
shape.
The leather pieces inserted in the jewels compose a geometric pattern that gives its
modern touch to these classic and elegant lines.
After 22 years of experience in the jewelry industry, Gilbert Giraud established his
workshop at Saint Martin de Valamas, in the heart of La Vallée du Bijou. Composed
by seven craftsmen, each of them having their own specific know-­how, the Font’Art
Creations skills allow them to work with great names of the fancy jewelry sector, creating
entire collections and also pieces for haute couture collections.
Techno Spartiates / Amazone 2.0
Inspirée de la mythologie grecque, la collection Aethra d’Oktane Concept utilise des
méthodes de fabrication à la pointe de la technologie : éléments conçus en 3D et
en prototypage rapide. En intégrant pour la première fois le cuir dans ses créations,
Oktane Concept offre une collection forte et atypique.
L’alliance de cuir noir et de plaques de métal plaquées or, ornées d’un anneau,
donne aux différentes pièces de la parure une allure contemporaine et androgyne
créant un style Spartiates et Amazones du 21ème siècle.
Proposée en petite série, la collection Aethra se compose d’une manchette et d’un
bracelet avec laçage en satin, de bagues, de boucles d’oreilles et d’un collier ras de
cou. Evolutive, elle peut changer d’esprit en modifiant les tonalités du métal (cuivre,
argent...) et la couleur des cuirs.
Fils de Gilbert Giraud (Font’Art Créations), Paul-­Jean Giraud a fondé en 2011 Oktane
Concept, atelier de création spécialisé dans la bijouterie assistée par ordinateur,
modélisation en 3D, réalisation de prototypes en cire ou métal et «masters» pour la
production en série.
Spartan / Amazon 2.0
Inspired by Greek mythology, the collection Aethra by Oktane Concept uses the
most up-­to-­date technology for its production: elements designed in 3D and in rapid
prototyping. By integrating for the first time leather in its creations, Oktane Concept
offers a strong and atypical collection.
The alliance of black leather and slates of gold-­plated metal, festooned with a ring,
gives a contemporary and androgynous look to the different pieces of the set, creating
a 21st Century Spartan and Amazon style.
Proposed in small series, the collection Aethra is composed of a cuff and a bangle
laced with satin straps, a ring, earrings and a crew neck. The spirit can be changed
by modifying the tone of the metal (copper, silver …) and the color of the leathers.
Gilbert Giraud’s son (Font’Art Créations), Paul-­Jean Giraud set up Oktane Concept
in 2011, a design workshop dedicated to “computer-­aided jewelry”, 3D modeling, wax
and metal prototypes constructions and “masters” for series production.
Bijoux Sculpture
Allemane & Allemane est née de la rencontre de Catherine Allard, sculptrice,
et de Jean Allemane, maroquinier. Mariés, ils ont installé leur atelier et boutique à
Saint-­Barthélemy-­le-­Meil et travaillent ensemble à la réalisation de collections de
maroquinerie.
Puis Catherine Allemane s’initie à l’art du bijou en rencontrant Nadia Roux et Josselin
Plantier de Créafusion.
Sa maîtrise de la technique de la fonte à cire perdue lui permet d’explorer différentes
formes inspirées par la nature, le corps humain, le mouvement, la vie. Elle mêle, entremêle et déconstruit ces formes à la recherche d’une émotion. Emotion dont naîtra le
lien entre le bijou et celle qui le portera.
Sa collection Désordonnance allie pour la première fois le cuir à l’inox. Elle puise son
inspiration dans la vigne et plus particulièrement son foisonnement de branchages
et de vrilles.
Fabriquée en toute petite série, la collection se compose d’un collier, d’un bracelet,
de boucles d’oreilles et d’une bague, dont le fil conducteur est l’inclusion de vrilles de
cuir dans un jeu d’entrelacs de métal. Une ligne de maroquinerie de même inspiration végétale complète la parure.
Sculpture Jewelry
Allemane & Allemane was born of the meeting of Catherine Allard, sculptor, and Jean
Allemane, leather craftsman. Married to each other, they established their workshop
and boutique at Saint Barthélémy le Meil and work together at the creation of leather
collections.
Then Catherine Allemane will be initiated at the art of jewelry after meeting Nadia
Roux and Josselin Plantier from Créafusion.
Her mastery of lost-wax casting process enables her to explore different shapes inspired
by nature, human body, motion, life. Looking for emotions, she matches, mixes up and
deconstructs these shapes. These emotions will finally create the link between the
jewel and the woman who will wear it.
For the first time, the collection Désordonnance marries leather and stainless steel.
She draws her inspiration from grapevine, especially from its abundance of branches
and tendrils.
Made of very small series, the collection is composed of a necklace, a bracelet,
earrings and a ring, whose main theme is the inclusion of tendrils of leather in a
game of metal interlacing. A line of leather goods from the same vegetal inspiration
completed the set.
Styliste de formation, Patricia Badin dessine des chaussures comme d’autres
chantonnent des bluettes. Elle a appris le métier de bottier auprès de Maurice Arnoult,
un des derniers artisans de Belleville et a poursuivi son apprentissage à Romans-­sur-­
Isère auprès de Pierre Manzoni, autre gardien de la mémoire, artisan amoureux du
geste juste.
Sa créativité, nourrie au gré de ses voyages et de ses rencontres, s’allie à ce savoir-­
faire pour réenchanter le plus vieux modèle de soulier : la sandale.
Pour Les Caractères, Patricia Badin a créé une sandale pour homme, simple et
élégante, qui s’orne d’un bijou en argent conçu par Créafusion.
Le plus grand soin est apporté aux finitions, dans le respect du savoir-­faire traditionnel
des bottiers. Les créations de Patricia Badin sont fabriquées en France, avec des cuirs
provenant des Tanneries Roux. Le travail sur la forme, le montage et la finition sont
réalisés en collaboration avec Max Vincent Création, sandalier romanais.
Patricia Badin aime à dire que « les rencontres font l’artisan, que la vie est un éternel
apprentissage, un compagnonnage ». C’est cet esprit qu’elle désire faire vivre à
travers sa griffe créée en 2013.
The footwear designer Patricia Badin draws shoes like others hum rhymes. She has
learned the profession of handmade shoemaker from Maurice Arnoult, one of the
latest craftman of Belleville and carried on her learning in Romans-­sur-­Isère with Pierre
Manzoni, another craftman who loves the right gesture.
Her creativity, nourished on the whim of her travels and meetings, combines with this
know-­how in order to refashion the oldest model of shoes: the sandal.
For Les Caractères, Patricia Badin designed a sandal for men, simple and elegant,
adorned by a silver jewel made by Créafusion.
The greatest care is provided to the finishes, in the respect of traditional bootmakers
know-­how. Her creations are made in France, with leathers supplied by the Tanneries
Roux. The work on form, the lasting of the shoes and the finishes are realized in
collaboration with Max Vincent Création.
Patricia Badin loves to say that “meetings create the craftman, that life is an eternal
learning, a companionship”, which is the spirit of her label created in 2013.
Les Tanneries Roux
Implantées à Romans-­sur-­Isère depuis 1803, la vocation des Tanneries Roux est de
fournir des cuirs de haute qualité aux acteurs mondiaux de l’industrie du luxe et de la
mode (maroquinerie, chaussures, bracelets montres, décoration, aviation d’affaires,
automobiles d’exception, yachts, etc...).
Afin de satisfaire aux exigences de sa clientèle prestigieuse, l’entreprise maîtrise
l’intégralité du processus industriel, qui lui permet de produire dans le respect des
règles environnementales européennes et d’inscrire les Tanneries Roux dans le
