a hot'n'heavy affair with Samantha a few months ago, but the couple had already amicably
parted ways when the 26-year-old Spanich Playboy model discovered that she was pregnant.
" Dean is thrilled he's going to be a first-time dad," his spokeswoman tells GLOBE.
And a pal confided : " Obviously, he wishes the circumstances were differnt but he plans to do
everything he can to be a wonderful and devoted father to his child."
The
former football player, who hosts TBS's Ripley's Believe It or Not and plays a gay man in the
upcoming movie The Broken Hearts Club, even wants to be with Samantha when she gives
birth.
"
Dean will be in the delivery room for the baby's birth," the pal said, " and he intends to make
sure the child will have everything he or she ever needs."
The highly anticipated tot should be a beautiful baby, say friends, with two gorgeous parents. B
ut most of all, the child will be loved.
" There was never any question whether they should keep the baby," says a source,
"Samantha and Dean just needed to figure out how to handle the situation, keeping the child's
best interest in mind."
