The luxury lodge is situated on a hill, in the heart of the malaria-free Madikwe Game
Reserve in the North West Province 4½ hours from Johannesburg. There is a 50
minute scheduled flight direct from Johannesburg to the Madikwe Game Reserve.
Inventively set amongst boulders and ancient Tamboti trees, the lodge offers visitors
the maximum in luxury and friendliness, where you will find yourself enthralled by the
untamed splendour of this world. Along with a warm and friendly atmosphere, the
reserve offers the top standards of service, guaranteeing that each guests' needs are
satisfied during their luxury South African safari stay. There is total privacy here, and it
really is quite an achievement to tear yourself away for your game drives, especially
when you are treated to your own private show of elephants in the waterhole below
from your suite. The reserve is home not only to the Big Five, but also to a wealth of
other interesting creatures, including the rare Wild Dog.
The central area of the main camp is a vital part of everyday life at the lodge. From the
threshold of stately, age-old East African doors, you enter the lounge where every
table is stacked with lovely books. Dinners in our dining room are a memorable
experience. Our chef passionately creates an assortment of healthy and mouthwatering dishes. Fine cuisine is accompanied by superb South African wine, which can
be found in our extensive wine cellar next to the dining room. Guests can enjoy a predinner drink and fireside chat with the friendly game rangers and managers in the bar.
An adjacent library awaits those yearning for knowledge of the African continent.
There is an internet connection in the library, which is available 24 hours. During the
day, guests are welcome to wander up to the reception area to browse through our
well-stocked curio shop. . The lodge has a unique spa based on a synthesis of ancient
healing tradition, philosophies and rituals from Africa. The fully quipped gym allows
guests to keep up with their fitness regime.

lavish with raised interlinking wooden walkways. The cosy living rooms have huge
slate-clad chimneys perfect to snuggle up in front of an open fire on cooler nights. The
unusual yet subtle décor integrates natural elements with colours highlighting Africa's
ambience. The suites are air-conditioned with fans and mosquito nets. Two of the
lower 10 suites from the main lodge can be combined with a private villa to form an
exclusive and private camp for small groups and families up to eight people.
The living room of each luxury bush suite leads into the bedroom with a gigantic fourposter double bed. The luxurious en suite bathrooms have indoor and outdoor
showers and the bedrooms have terrace access. A large deep tub takes centre stage
in front of fold-back windows that reveal the wilderness. As the sun goes down, there's
nothing better than a candle lit bath open to the elements.
The main deck overlooking the waterhole is the perfect place to while away the day
under a cool umbrella. Our main swimming pool offers cool respite from the harsh
African sun, and is a great way to relax with a cocktail in the afternoon. Each luxury
suite has a private deck and a plunge pool. Throw open all the floor-to-ceiling windows
and retreat to a sunbed in the shade of an acacia tree. You will be astounded at what
passes by just a hundred feet or so from your deck. Our unique boma offers a
traditional and elegant atmosphere of dining under African stars.
